Your behind the scenes photo shoots have taught me that you can really do portrait sessions anywhere, you just gotta be creative with using the background and framing

I'm a complete novice at photography, but I always feel inspired by Julia's videos. If I want to start my day on a good note, I'll watch one of her "behind the scenes" shoots. The interactions between Julia, her team, and the models gives me hope for humanity. I will never be the photographer she is, nor do I aspire to be. But, her videos humanize the process of photography, and makes me love faces even more. Thank you for sharing your art.

Great model! She moves so naturally in front of the camera. I always learn stuff about framing and poses from Looking at your videos! Also love how you can shoot with different cameras and lenses and still maintaining your own style. I dont feel I have found my style yet, but working on it. ☺️

This was the first video that I've seen of yours. Great job. It was interesting that you shoot using live view. Also, you were shooting at a very low f-stop and it seemed like the model never stopped moving but yet you got shots that looked in perfect focus. I guess it was the higher shutter speed that really helped out.

Julia. Because your photographs have muted colors. I've often thought that you confuse many of your video watchers when you show images that have not been edited. And then say that they're straight out of the camera. When they're not really straight out of the camera. Because Lightroom applies way too much saturation and sharpening to photos opened in Lightroom when it applies the Adobe Color profile. And then when in previous videos you show your muted color edits after those oversaturated photos. Some people in the comments said that they don't like your edits as well as the straight out of camera shots. Because of course they're not straight out of camera. This video is awesome that you went straight to your photographs. Straight to your edits. Without showing oversaturated Lightroom Adobe Color profile images first.

Jullia aka Vampire Zombie... your editing is the best that i ever saw at anyone doing photography. I loved your portraits since i saw you 10 years ago or more on deviantart. Maybe you can make another video with your editing... but in adobe photoshop.. i think that you use more lightroom though... i would like to see a video, anyway.. keep up the good/best work, i love it!!! greetings from Netherlands!

Turbo Nutter FWIW, I rented the sigma 35mm 1.2 for Sony. It’s fabulous!! I know the big complaint is weight and price, but I actually found it do-able for what I was doing.....which was NOT all day photography. The images are amazingly sharp!
Can you make a tutorial of how you polish skin tones so well and make them look so smooth?

Hello Julia ... I loved the video and the photos even more; Does the model fly a "DUCATI"? suggestion from a registered motorcyclist: photos with the bike !! I know this is not your focus but I always get inspired by your photos on my motorcycle trips. (PS: google translator)tks

How come you are not using eye AF, Julia? I noticed you tap on the screen to set your focus point on the model’s face. At least on some of the shots at the begging of the video

Julia, how do you find the Sony camera? The eye track/focus and face detection is a game changer for portraits? Taking into account that you were shooting at f/1.4. would you be able to do the same with a DSLR? Shoot with such detail and sharpness at f/1.4?

These are beautiful! I just got my SONY A7 III and I'm having issues with getting clear shoots (some are so noisy). Do you have a video on settings? also are you shooting on manual?
I shoot manual. What is your iso set to? The higher it is the more noise.
If you're shooting outside get the iso down to 100 or 200.. If you think the picture is to dark, check the shutter speed first, then the aperture (subject) and the last thing you might change is the ISO

Just an amateur photographer here but I'm curious as to why you would shoot with such a high shutter speed? I thought it was just for how much movement you have. I would have thought something closer to 600 would have been okay. Could you explain why you chose differently? c: Love your videos by the way! I binge-watch them and just purchased a Sony A7III w/ a sony 35mm f 1.8.

Hi, can you sometimes do a photo review of a Kodak pixpro DSLR.
I noticed you use the screen more than the viewfinder. Do you find it is easier to get shots that way with the Sony?
Yeah I just can’t get used to the EVF but it’s kinda better for my eyes/face anyway to not have to squint all the time while taking photos and having my hands and camera all up against my face 😂

Can you tell your metering...? Do you capture underexposed pic or over exposed normally ?
Underexposed, since a overexposed image does not allow for correction.
Underexposed images can still be brought up in brightness and keep its pixel data. The opposite is not true.
@@Deadwindshadow Agreed. As long as you're shooting everything in raw, the pixel data is there with the underexposed images.

Hi julia, i have challenge for you. But i dont have anything to give you, can you photo with sony kitlens + godox tt600/ anything flash budget. This is educative for me and for new photographer lowbudget. I hope it will come true😆😜😁..
