    Thanks as a beginner, these tips are incredibly useful to at least get used to rc track driving.

    One of the most humble, spot on target and useful talk. Many thanks, Alex.

    *the theory always applies the same as full scale racing, but sometimes our requirements are different!

    Hi, great video with very useful tips. As an amateur I find extremely interesting to learn how a pro racer improves his skills.
    A quick query:
    On those shorter test / practice sessions of 2 or 3 minutes how do you manage your batteries? Also do you charge your batteries in a different way for a short test / practice session compared to a full 5 minute practice run?
    Please excuse if the questions don't make much sense as I am in the hobby just for the pleasure of it.
    Thanks.

      Hi Vitor! I charge the batteries in the same way regardless of the duration of the practice runs. So that I always start the run with the same battery voltage (a lower voltage will provide reduced punch).

    Hi Alex, great video! Could you make one which elaborates more of tuning the Hobbywing esc and the motor. For example, how you approach different tracks with all the settings the esc has and which setting you really like to play with?

    • @hagberg
      @hagberg  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! I hope to do that fairly soon !

    On full scale you would actually use AB tyre set to eliminate the mileage equation and the only thing that's changed is track condition.

    • @hagberg
      @hagberg  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Please elaborate on what you mean by AB? The same method that I've mentioned? Using set A-B-C-D in that order?

    • @waynekerr67
      @waynekerr67 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@hagberg basically yes.
      Assume sets A and B are sticker tires (new)
      Baseline -- set A
      Setup Evo 1 -- set A
      Setup Evo 1 -- set B
      Baseline -- set B
      This way you get effects of both baseline and setup Evo 1 when it's on new and used tires of the same mileage. Loop and repeat setup evos and this way you don't ever wonder are you chasing the tire as well as the track, you're just chasing the track.

    Thanks Alexander, that was a great video. How do you know when practicing that a setup change worked or the track traction was improved due to other factors as temperature, tire compound on racing line etc ?

    • @hagberg
      @hagberg  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually pay attention to track cleanliness. For example if you're one of the first cars on the track, obviously the track will be slower. And it will clean up, and get faster as the day progresses - until a point where it starts to stay more consistent. After that, it's mainly affected by temperature though. Hence why I keep a temp gun handy to keep track of the track temps throughout the day. Obviously hotter means less grip usually. On carpet, it's a lot more consistent, but it can also be affected by the temperature in the building, as well grip being built up when more cars are on the track.

    • @hagberg

      Yes its usually a first come first served basis. At championship races you get to choose in order of starting position for the finals.
