    I’m about to pick one of these up and this is exactly what I needed to know.
    Quick question, is there a way to set a “trans brake”.
    Basically hold a button, pin the throttle and let go of the button when I’m ready to launch? Likely not ideal but just curious.

    What advice can you give me to be the best in drag racing, My goal is to be number one and break records,how can I get off the line real fast with good speed . I plan on starting next year’s but I want to get ahead of the game, and what good chassis and motor and esc you can recommend for me.

    • @gravityracergt
      @gravityracergt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well I’m not gonna bullshit ya and tell you I know all the secrets to being number one. But a good start is a B6.3 based Street Sweeper Chassis and an R1 Digital 3 ESC with the Castle 6400 4 pole motor. Sanwa M17 remote. A really good tire prep and a super consistent routine and many many many hours of testing and tuning. Voodoo tires if you can get them. As far as breaking records… I wish you the best but this drag racing thing isn’t easy. Start with baby steps and just make sure you can make consistent straight passes. Then work on turning it up. I actually looked into it this morning and it doesn’t limit the car in anyway. Mine is also on the default setting of 30,000 and I am turning 73,000 rpm on my average drag run. It seems to be a setting for how many RPMs you want the telemetry to read up to.

    Next question - Do you know how to set up a scramble button on the M17. I saw this in a video - added timing when button is pushed but of course no one shows you how to do it. Or makes your transmission a 2 speed. Do you know anything about this?

    • @gravityracergt
      @gravityracergt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes. It is simple to do. Just set up one of your buttons for R mode and click over to R mode and select the throttle D/R you want and it will switch to that the instant you push the button you have that set percentage of throttle. With the m17 you can have 5 R modes or shift 5 times but I prefer the method shown in the video. It is smoother and far more consistent

    When you turn down the throttle D/R to 90 will I only get 90% of max power of the motor? If so how do I get the other 10% of my motor?

    • @gravityracergt
      @gravityracergt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The D/R is the Dual Rate. It will only give you that % of the throttle. It’s necessary when you have a low turn motor such as a 2.0 or 2.5 turn motor. If you use 100% on those motors you’ll over amp the ESC and get a huge voltage drop. Also those motors make so much power that you can’t use it all.. Currently with a 2.5T motor I’m running 2.2@69mph with no timing added and only 80% D/R

    • @waynekerr67
      @waynekerr67 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      r-mode, throttle dual rate on. Then when you press the button mapped to r mode, the 10% is activated

      Go to curve in the setting and set all the points to your liking. Then you have to put the In/Out setting to Out and set your Forward somewhere between -93 and -99 and set your point below the setting on your first stage on your curve. Pull trigger and it should do what you have set in the curve

    Is there much of a difference for drag racing between the 7pxr and sanwa m17? For r1 combo

    • @gravityracergt
      @gravityracergt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They both can ramp in the power very effectively. Both have been used to go very fast. In my experience with them the Sanwa is a lot easier to learn and use and also is much more straight forward. The Sanwa also can offer a much more in depth ability to fine tune IF you wanted to set up all 9 stages.. But I just use the Point and Forward Speed ramp. Basically I pick a good launch power and a good stable ramp rate and let it eat.
