The only natural Earth mined stones I prefer over lab are rubies, sapphires, and emeralds in their typical colors as there is a noticeable color difference in the Earth vs lab specimens.
I like rubies but the problem with a natural ruby over that last decade or two is the better quality ones are just not around unless you go to a crazy high end store. The rubies I see in local and chain jewelry stores have such a large amount of flaws, or the color is that dense cloudy red or it has so much glass infused that I think they are ugly. For that reason I would go with a lab ruby because they look like the gorgeous rubies I had no trouble finding in the 80's and 90's.

Still lab grown Moissanites are cheaper. Why is this? 🤔 Plus, Moissanite's characteristics are also way better than a diamond. So why it's cheap in market??

Maybe I’m just hard on my rings - but I’ve never chipped or scratched a Diamond - and I have a number of antique Diamond rings as well as my lab Diamond. I’m not sure why - but every moissanite I’ve had has been damaged in some way - and I don’t even wear them all that much.
Less than 1% of natural diamonds are conflict diamonds (and you can get certificates), so it's not much of a concern. Environmental impact is legitimate though. Natural diamonds have limited supply, therefore they can appreciate in price. There's also value in the millions of years needed to create them. But if you value how sparkly something is, or you can't afford natural diamonds, get moissanite.
There are millions of carats of natural diamonds that are held back from the market to give the appearance of scarcity and to keep the prices high. The only diamonds that appreciate in value are large and exceptional stones that are far beyond the reach of the average person. With any normal diamond, when you try to sell it, you would be lucky to get 30% of the amount that you paid.
I was having trouble deciding what to opt for, but in the end decided to go for lab grown diamond since i got a very good deal of about 300ish dollars for a 1.1 carat oval lab diamond. I find the white color of a diamond more appealing compared to moissanite which comes of as a bit to flashy for me. I'd say as long as you stay in the lower carat range, it's personal taste, and when in higher carat i'd say moissanite because of the cost.
I want to see a beautifully cut real diamond next to a beautifully cut moissanite. My bf just had my dream ring made as my engagement ring and I’m just learning moonstone is super soft and it will fall out especially in a hard platinum setting. If and when it does I think I want a moissanite long hexagon cut in its place, BUT will you be able to tell the brilliance of the real diamonds on the sides with a larger moissanite center stone? Or no?
Hey Fire & Brilliance, I need some help. I've been viewing videos about diamond vs moissanite and have a question. I understand moissanites have superior fire and brilliance, however, a video I saw talked about how although it may shine and sparkle more, it's not as CLEAR or SHARP as diamond sparkle. This is because moissanites are double refractive and diamonds are single refractive. So I'm curious, is there any way to make a moissanites sparkle clearer like that of a diamond? Or is that not an option? I'm confused on which to choose based off of that. Moissanite being superior in fire and brilliance but diamond being superior in the actual quality of the sparkle. I'm new to this so correct me if I'm wrong, I'm just trying to learn and figure this out.
For moissanite, a cut similar to that of a diamond is used. This is not the optimal cut for it. If there is someone who will develop the ideal cut shape for moissanite, then this will solve many issues.
I think it nonsense to compare a moissanite (which is also lab grown) to a lab diamond. This is a matter of preference in which stone you want. People that go with a lab diamonds either like diamonds but don't want to go natural for whatever the reason whether it's to save money or it being an environmental issue. Moissanite is a completely different stone that is very very inexpensive (much less than a lab diamond) so people choose them for either price or they just want a moissanite because they like that rainbow sparkle I personally like diamonds and would by a natural or lab diamond and would not even consider mossanite. Not that I think mossanite isn't pretty, it's just that I like diamonds better. It is personal preference and nothing more.
Moissanites are sold now at $5-$10 for a 6.5mm (cart size) . I mean perfect D color, perfectly proportioned and machined cut. Lab Grown Diamonds are sold now for $300-650 for a 6.5mm (carat size) depending on where and who you buy them from, but they are rapidly on a decline in prices too. you might get something for a LAB GROWN Diamondvas re-sale. but for Moissanite, you will get ZERO! THIS VIDEO IS INFOMRCIAL.
Moissanite is dirt cheap. Lab diamonds due to supply and demand are dropping in price but so are moissanites so I doubt a lab diamond will ever get as cheap as the cost of a moissanite. I'ts all about personal preference anyway so it really doesn't matter at the end of the day.
The problem is not many know a lot about moissanite nor do many jewelers sell it. I do see it growing in popularity recently and that may drive up the price. I myself like moiss for its brilliance.
Team lab grown diamond that is. Tho I had a good natural diamond , sold & price wise compared to to lab grown , definitely, I’ll get the best same components. Natural mined diamond is wayyyyy expensive just because , they excavated tons of soil & rocks 😜🙏
according to the small video at 2:19, the diamond looks like it has more fire and brilliance. the moissanite to the left does look as clear but definitely has some chine and glitter, but i wouldnt call it fire and brilliance
That's because they're were shot in different lightings. I don't know why. Moissanites are definitely a little more brilliant and have nearly twice the fire.
I've seen that moissanite reflects more of those rainbow prizms which can to some make it look fake, do high-end diamonds also do that, like the VS-VVS
Moissanite is birefringent (i.e., light sent through the material splits into separate beams that depend on the source polarization), which can be easily seen, and diamond is not.
Depends. De Beers did create the atronomical prices of diamonds. Actually they are not rare, only the realy large specimens. In future most people will buy only labgrown and prices of natural diamonds will be going same low as labgrown. So as a probably investment i would say buy labgrown diamonds. 🤗 For myself i like vintage jewellery with less perfection. No need for diamonds and like sapphire more, they do make labgrown sapphires also. 🤗
It's 2024, and I just purchased a moissanite sterling silver ring. I also own lab grown diamonds 💎. I am excited about my moissanite 💍. No mining for me. Let's build a sustainable and stable environment one my grandkids will inhabit.
Russian diamond mines alone has 3.6 billion ct of diamond, enough for 3000 years of supply. Diamond is NOT rare. Yes, diamond is forever, water is forever, steel is forever.... Diamond price is controlled like oil price. Those think diamond is rare and forever, think again.
Moissanite diamonds are good too than real diamond. I personally love 💕 the cubic zirconia good quality stone that is man made than a real diamond. You might think that is crazy that I don't like the real thing. I have bad luck with the real diamond little diamonds keep falling out. That why in those days before the moissinate diamond I liked better the cubic zirconia ring instead.

I prefer the one that takes between 1 billion to 3.5 billion years old. And to me a lab grown is just not my idea of what a true diamond is. And now that they are able to be distinguished by professionals I would not touch a lab grown. And Moissanite, i understand the fire but once again it is not a real diamond. Now I inderstand what would be the choice today maybe the lab is okay. But a professional will tell you that if you are looking for an investment grade diamond to stick with mined. And if you are worried about the impact ? Guys there are a LOT of diamonds ( earth mined) out there. Used jewelry for one. And there are diamonds lined in drawers that have yet to be even released to the public yet. Many people will say a lab grown is the same as an earth mined. But that just is not true. Speak to a GIA grad and they will tell you the difference. And the price is another dead giveaway. If they were truly identical then the price would not be that far off from the earth mined As for Moissanite, yes if you just like fire and could care less whether you had a diamond or a moissanite. Then that is a cool option. We are seeing diamond mines around the world shut down. The Argyle mine in Australia was one of the finest especially if you like fancy color diamonds. And it was most certainly the place that a couple of extremely rare red diamonds. I purchased a earth mined blue diamond probably about 16 years ago. I love it. And yes it is a true blue with GIA report.. I think mow they heat them or irradiate them to get the blues and greens out there. One last thing that so many fail to warn people about are clarity enhanced which around something like ammonia is an absolute no no.
Lots of things are billions of years old. For example, the water in your piss is billions of years old. Also, the only way to tell the difference between a lab and natural diamond is the laser etching on the surface. Otherwise, they are 100% identical because they are the same thing. Same exact chemical structure.
Team Moissanite all the way. I will never go back to natural diamonds. Like explained in your video, diamonds have a bloody past - hence the Blood Diamonds. This is especially true with the De Beers controlling the diamond industry for almost a century and their stealthy marketing of limiting diamond releases (and yes, real diamonds are not rare - they are the most common gems around - you are only paying top dollar for the mining operations and the cut from the jeweler) and the, “A diamond is forever,” ploy. The only natural diamonds I would ever consider is the ones mined out of Canada since you can practically trace your diamond from there-and if it weren’t for those two geologists who hunted for that mine, the De Beers (who were hunting for the same mine), would still control the monopoly! Also, I don’t care for the mining that destroys the environment. I like the way the Gen Z generation thinks, and heard this quote somewhere, “I got 99 problems, but a diamond ain’t one of them!” Lol! BTW, Charles & Colvard certified moissanites have been inching up in pricing and is clearly no longer as cheap as they used be (plus their precious metals are recycled!)…so thinking that a natural diamonds retains value - is only in the eye of the beholder! Go Moissanite!
Only gems that have caused great suffering and destroyed the environment are a joy to wear. What's the point of flaunting wealth if you can't show a gem that has maimed or killed its miners?

Its just such a horrible thing to look at. That blue background overlaid with the head. moisonite has more fire and brlliance right which is what this channels called . Is that why you think its better? . but lab grown and natural diamonds are both diamonds, theres a thing called provenance though which is tied up with sentiment . Is a moisonite better than a lab grown diamond? I wouldn't have thought so: its just the question are moisonites better than diamonds? Is the price similar? what about say moisonite vs a white sapphire, I guess moisonite wins or white saphire vs cubic zirconia, Are there any other diamond like gems just made out of 1 or two elements , aside from say quartz?
y'all trying to put this out here is beyond the pale. every jeweler talking about lab diamonds are setting up the long con. this is an attempt to increase PROFITS, not provide your clients with QUALITY. this will backfire on jewelers, when the broad public learns the cost, price value preposition involved. shameful really
Couldn’t agree more! I have first hand experience with a lab diamond and trying to get rid of it after it was purchased and never even seen, let alone worn. Reputable jewelers do not work with them. The 5 I called have no market for them. Furthermore, they’re worthless. You can’t even get 20 percent of your purchase price. Paid over 10k, best offer was 2k. I know diamonds don’t resell at 100 percent but it’s usually about 60. Basically lab grown diamonds are either garbage or a toy. Take your pick.
This isn't a con at all! If people want an investment piece for their wife to sell after they break up then don't buy any diamond or moissanite jewlery at all! But as far as value for what it is supposed to be it's fantastic! It's a beautiful symbol of your love and devotion. At these price points what's wrong w that? If you want an investment piece be clear and invest... but don't treat your wedding band as an investment for the day u break up, try an actual investment. I think it's great that couples on a budget are not priced out of great quality jewlery anymore.
I can't tell a lie to myself that I like natural Diamond cause natural diamond are forged by time it can be million of years and that makes them valuable. Sounds like a commercial for diamonds ha. The advertising and marketing are very good. Small part of me is _still_ considering natural, though I'm confident I'll go lab diamond or moissanite. Thankfully we are living in the future where natural is not our only option.
@@m.rizadjoeli357 Of course I prefer natural in general and try to be more environmentally conscious. I want a 1.75-2ct. Just for the gem alone is 8k - 15k so that’s too much for me. Moissanite looks exactly like what it is; a cheap alternative. & The argument about diamonds being overpriced and mined by slaves is absolutely silly if you're watching YT videos from your overpriced smartphone made with _rare earth metals_ mined by slaves and manufactured in factories that heavily pollute the earth. Moissanite sellers are just trying to find a market they can corner; Fortunately for them, a lot of people are cheap and have crap for eyes.
I don't think so, LoL. I have good quality moissanite pieces and they stand out more than my diamond pieces I had years ago.
Team brilliant- let’s go moissanite❤
👍
I have them both and spinel gem diamonds 💎and black onxy jewelry
Team lab grown diamond that is. Tho I had a good natural diamond , sold & price wise compared to to lab grown , definitely, I’ll get the best same components. Natural mined diamond is wayyyyy expensive just because , they excavated tons of soil & rocks 😜🙏
If I send the ring, would your jewellers be willing to swap out the stone?
You can go to any jewelry store and they’ll do it
@@thatchannel5294 Tiffanys won't nor will
other designer stores.
Team moissanite, all the way!👍
Mosseinit like the brilliant of it the sparkel of it
Very informative, thank you so much
I only buy and sell lab grown diamonds and Moissanite
according to the small video at 2:19, the diamond looks like it has more fire and brilliance. the moissanite to the left does look as clear but definitely has some chine and glitter, but i wouldnt call it fire and brilliance
That's because they're were shot in different lightings. I don't know why. Moissanites are definitely a little more brilliant and have nearly twice the fire.
Team LGD 💎
I'm going for team moissanite!!!! More bang for my buck!!!!
So true on the "more bang" for your buck!!!!!
I've seen that moissanite reflects more of those rainbow prizms which can to some make it look fake, do high-end diamonds also do that, like the VS-VVS
No.
For myself i like vintage jewellery with less perfection.
No need for diamonds and like sapphire more, they do make labgrown sapphires also. 🤗
where is the best place to buy moisante earings online?
You can find moissanite earrings on our website! :) fireandbrilliance.com/collections/earrings-studs
I'm team moissanite!
Good info!
Does any company make old European cut moissanite?
You can give us a try. fireandbrilliance.com/collections/heirloom-moissanite-by-fire-brilliance/products/round-old-european-cut-oec-heirloom-fab-moissanite-loose-stone
Great info bro. Leaving a comment here for the algorithm.
Thanks Carlos! ☺️🙏🏻
Lab diamond for me. Anything bigger than 0.5ct in moissanite the sparkle is too obvious lol.
I'm a lab grown diamond.
Moissanite natural stone....????
just buy loose diamonds and make your own rings etc.
Team Moisan night from Shop LC
Moissanite is the way t go just find a good retailer who is not overcharging Prices are now very afforsable I gave mos tf my diamnd jewelry t me neices and wear msstly moissanite and a few diamonds mixed
If they were truly identical then the price would not be that far off from the earth mined
As for Moissanite, yes if you just like fire and could care less whether you had a diamond or a moissanite.
Love natural diamond.
I believe in Moissanite rights!
I choose the one that’s identical to a gem worth more than diamonds, for less than the cost of lab diamonds. Team moissanite !
Moissanite is my choice looks more beautiful
Only gems that have caused great suffering and destroyed the environment are a joy to wear. What's the point of flaunting wealth if you can't show a gem that has maimed or killed its miners?
Moissanite. i can afford diamonds but i rather spend my money on other things.
I am team dont get shafted by the diamond industry!
Moissanite all the way, a stone costs 10-40 bux.
Nothing can beat that.
natural diamond 💍
it keeps it's value over time it feels to me like an investment
They dont keep their value…

Team Moissanite!
Moissanite 2ct, Colour D: 65 $/€ from Amazon/China
All the more reason not to get it
@@jenalatz3589 not all of us got funds to pay 2-3-4k for a stone.
With that money I can go in a nice vacation.
Hi im from mazatlan Sinaloa mexico. I just found a meteorite impact crater.i found, iron meteorites rocks ,stony iron meteorites.qand natural moissanite found one ,but maybe I Will find more. The question is who buys natural moissanite.and im going to look for more.and other gems.
I sent a meteorite sample to Colorado to analize.
The one I found I gave to a Lady as a gift, but I didnt know what was IT.
Museums
I have both natural diamond and moissanite. Moissanite I wear almost everyday vs. diamond on occasion
I have both, lab grown diamonds and Moissanite!
Im team of how the guy treats me 😂
why not get cz if you are getting fake stuff?
I am speechless. Don't know what I want after all reading these comments 😂
Team blood diamond!
😂😂😂😂😂🤦🏽♂️
Natural Diomond are always a natural Status.
The only thing people can show status with diamond is how much they paid for it.
do you have a response?
reason 1 2 3 and 4 they can't afford a diamond but want to look like they can lol
Really? nice bull sheets .I dont think so .
Mine baby mine ❤❤
I have many moissanite peices I love them all! Also have diamond!
this may be controversial, but i’m actually team blood diamond 💎😂 jk, prolly moissanite, cuz i don’t like the artificial supply of diamonds
Team Moissanite here
Team moissanite
y'all trying to put this out here is beyond the pale. every jeweler talking about lab diamonds are setting up the long con. this is an attempt to increase PROFITS, not provide your clients with QUALITY. this will backfire on jewelers, when the broad public learns the cost, price value preposition involved. shameful really
You are spot on!
If I cannot afford a diamond, I’ll just stick with 18k gold. Forget about the wantobe.
I can't tell a lie to myself that I like natural Diamond cause natural diamond are forged by time it can be million of years and that makes them valuable.
It means as long as you have meaning in your life, you deserve a natural diamond.
Nothing instanly in this life, all the things in life there is an effort.
Succsess doesn't happen overnight.
NATURAL DIAMOND are forever
Sounds like a commercial for diamonds ha. The advertising and marketing are very good. Small part of me is _still_ considering natural, though I'm confident I'll go lab diamond or moissanite. Thankfully we are living in the future where natural is not our only option.
@@KawaiiKandi right, every part of human is natural..ok..for me it's all about taste.
I like natural diamond more than lab grown diamond or moissanite
@@m.rizadjoeli357 Of course I prefer natural in general and try to be more environmentally conscious. I want a 1.75-2ct. Just for the gem alone is 8k - 15k so that’s too much for me. Plus with all the environmental damage and possible slavery or underpayment of workers in the mining industry, just makes natural in this situation not the best choice for me. Hope you have a nice day.
@@KawaiiKandi thank you so much..i'm just explaining the meaning of natural diamonds for me, i like natural diamond but it doesn't mean i own them. I agree with what you say...have a nice day too..bro...🙏
I like that. But when they were making my ring from James Allen they told my Husband that they grew a special diamond for each individual.. When u think of it that way, it can be just as romantic. Still true about natural diamonds though, there is something romantic about them. :)
Natural diamond
Diamonds are so ridiculously overpriced that they make the lab-grown ones to be overpriced too.
Zirconia is a great option.
Zirconia isn't very durable.
why people choose moissanite vs. lab-grown diamonds in 2022, thats fine, but the title Why Moissanite and Lab-Grown Diamonds Are Better Than Natural Diamonds!.. bruh clickbait shit
Lol, that’ll be the day. And if you believe this- I’ve got a bridge to sell you, cheap! Lol
Moissanite is garbage...But Lab Grown Diamonds are wonderful!
Moissanite is poor man diamond. If you say is garbage, the poor man is also garbage, right?
My wife wanted only a natural diamond. That’s what she got.
Moissanite looks exactly like what it is; a cheap alternative.
& The argument about diamonds being overpriced and mined by slaves
is absolutely silly if you're watching YT videos from your overpriced smartphone made
with _rare earth metals_ mined by slaves and manufactured in factories that heavily pollute the earth.
Moissanite sellers are just trying to find a market they can corner;
Fortunately for them, a lot of people are cheap and have crap for eyes.
Anita- the only thing people can flex with diamonds is how much they paid for it. If you prefer diamonds- that's all you boo.
I don't think so, LoL. I have good quality moissanite pieces and they stand out more than my diamond pieces I had years ago. You've been brainwashed by YEARS of marketing and misinformation from the diamond industry. Natural diamonds do have resale value, yes, but not that much. Precious metals, ie....silver, gold, and platinum hold value.
team moisty
I adore moissanite
