I met Bireli in London the other day after his unbelievable (all improvised) solo show. Such a lovely bloke and very generous with his time. What a guy.
Bireli is one of the greatest soloists in the world, but holy crap what a fabulous rhythm player! One of the very best. Joscho is a virtuoso, and quite a nice guy as well.
Bireli sounds freaking awesome with Joscho - I think Joscho really knows how to record these guitars right and end up with an amazing sound - Bireli's guitar sounds more in tact than many of the recordings I have heard of him.
This performance has a flavor of the records made by Al Di Meola and Paco De Lucia together. Joscho has solid and agile technic on guitar and top quality of virtuosity. Both of them show great performance, thank you.
When almost 30 years later, people start to play your tunes as nicely as you recorded them, it surely means they are becoming standards. And Made in France is definitely a standard. Merci Bireli.
Those days it was not so easy to find new music. I found one cd at my friends house with Bireli playing with Coryell and Vitous. Next went to a library to find Birelis CDs and found made in France. That was the way finding new artists by looking the cast and then going after their records. Or reading magazines that hinted you of interesting players. Now we have a youtube like Pandoras Box. E-z.
"Not too shabby"...(probably the understatement of the century). Seriously. Two of the best acoustic jazz players on the planet. And even more importantly. Great composing by Bireli on this song. Composers are the heart and soul of the music world.
Joscho with some Di Meola influences and heavy metal riffs :D + Bireli with powerful backlight and beautiful tones in his short solo = year 2019 is beautiful
Imagine strolling around in France with a loved one and stumbling onto these two jamming their hearts out in front of a French restaurant after having a savory meal and some aged wine, ugh 😩 😭 somebody make my wish come true lol
Hmmmm sorry to drop your dream off but since March 2020 it’s more like: Take your mask, go to the market and by all you need to cook a savoury meal, take a good bottle of wine as well and ... GO HOME to find your loved one! lol
Anyone giving this a “thumbs down” is just ridiculous... that proves that there are just people in the world who are incapable of appreciating things that are 1, not what they listen to and 2, something they can’t play. Pathetic really. There is no way to see anything but something wonderful.
I have been wondering why Joscho and Bireli never played together!!! You don't see very often Bireli playing alongside and btw he does it extraordinary!!! The solo of Joscho it is the finest thing, there are many tsigane guitar players whose are so talented and full of heart but Joscho posses and INCREDIBLE sense of music in the whole sense and with the way he masters the manouche techniques, he is one of the best in my opinion!!! Two of the best ever after Django.
Oh come on! This song is from the album that Biréli made with guitar player Sylvain Luc called "Duet". If you haven't heard two real masters of the guitar yet go check this album. Yes, Joscho is awesome, but Biréli and Sylvain Luc are not of this hearth...
@@DenisLogicCertified well I don't agree, first it is a matter of taste, I can mention other names like Debarre or Adrian Moignard which are tremendous jazz manouche players. Just wondering if you play manouche..

what shocks me is above all the accompaniment of Biréli it is perfection

thanks Aaron :)
You’re right about the recording, it sounds *really* good, just crystal clear
Joscho play so well :-) And Bireli…… there's no word for this musician. He's playing so laid back > WOW !
The genius and the machine ;)
Bireli composes as beautifully as he plays.

Ahahahahaha not even close....
This is just beautiful. In our current turbulent times music like this can just lift you up. Thank you.
This may be the best guitar playing I've ever seen in my life! Holy God!!!

Geniuses at work. All about feeling, tradition and timing. Excellent playing here.
Birelis smile at 2:25!
I smiled alllll the way. Beautiful
Birelli, Stochelo, Jimmy....and since many years ago, Joscho, a new star in manouche guitar. Sure he´s goin to be also a classic
This is EPIC!!!!
Haha I was just about to write the same :)
It truly is!
I love the flow of joscho’s riff at 1:48
Joscho the aestheticist, Bireli the constructivist - and both let their instruments sing. Incredibly beautiful.
These masters do not need an introduction whatsoever. Bravissimo
Amazing! You 2 guys are extra-terrestrials, there’s no way around it 🤯
2:35 Joscho got Bireli’s approval 😂 Was looking forward to seeing this so much and they did not disappoint 👍🏻👍🏻
The b9 chord sounding had a tremendous effect on the piece Bireli is a genius
Love the camera close-up on birelli's monster finger works

I would rate these two the best Gypsy Jazz practitioners in the world.
My two favorite guitarists...wow. Thanks for sharing!!!
i think i saw Birelli smile there for a second, he must be enjoying himself.
it must be great music then.

Exquisitely powerful.
Fantabulous!
Magnificent, virtuosic playing all round, but the frantic rhythm playing (by both) almost obscures the single note stuff.
