Hi Sam. All the spot welds will work much better if you don't push the guns tip holding the washer or shaped rod hard into the work surface. It is a "resistance welder" and concentrates the spot weld power on the area of highest resistance so the trick is to hold it softly against the surface so you have a spot of slight resistance for the welder to focus on. Cheers
Thanks for the video! I've ordered one of these guns online in Thailand, and got the gun with all the accessories, but without cable. And the vendor didn't have them. Can you tell me what kind of cable I could use? Can I buy a normal welding cable, cut of the rod holder and connect it to the gun?
@stefanpulitzky5853 you should be able to go to VEVOR.Com on internet and somewhere on the website will be a Contact Me button. Click on it and they will help you get the correct cables for your welder. Also the telephone number is on the page under a button at top under "Account and Orders along with contact button. Here it is 855-385-1880 Mon to Fri 8AM-5PM PST, Sat to Sun 8AM-3PM PST
@henryar5666 I am not sure how thick you car metal may be. This welder spot welds the pulling rings to the bar metal. Get the strongest weld by putting the pulling ring in the end of the welding handle and not use the extension bar will give the strongest well and set the dial high for a good strong spot weld should do the job.
