    You should use a white towel not dark blue. Blue will stain any white fabric.

    I just tried the Dawn and the peroxide on my white sectional with linen/Jean like material that was gifted to me. Wow. It was work but it turned out beautifully. I just took each sectional one by one. It took about a week to clean and lot of scrubbing, paying extra to the spots/stains. I used a white towel and boiled my hot water. I just saved myself $250 in upholstery cleaning......and got some needed exercise. 8/16/21

      hello Emma Parker, question, did it take long for the furniture to dry? was concerned about moisture staying in the inner parts of the chair or sofa fibers below the upholstered top fiber.

  • @czernyvandenheuvel8994

    Have you ever had an issue with getting a “wet stain” after effect after using this method on your linen furniture? If so what method would you suggest to avoid that?

    • @DenaeLynn
      @DenaeLynn  4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Yes, the only time I had that issue is if I just did a spot cleaning. So to prevent that, you have to clean the entire piece or section if that makes sense. I think a lot of it depends on the type of material. Our ottomans are made of linen but our couch does not do that as it's a different material.

    • @bossmom6576

      The fabric on both the ottomans and couch do not leave water stains. I've not had that issue ever using this process but if you're getting water stains, perhaps it's the fabric on your furniture??? I also think cleaning the entire thing instead of just spot treating will help with that too!

      You can try it. Peroxide is a natural cleaner which is what achieves that brightness on light fabric. I've never used just oxyclean so I'm not sure. I would suggest testing it on a small area first to make sure it doesn't ruin the fabric.

    Does it works on old stains

    • @DenaeLynn
      @DenaeLynn  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it depends on the fabric and what was spilled, but I have gotten out quite a few old stains with this method. Some things lightened up significantly to where I can barely see it.

    How important is the peroxide if I don't have

    • @DenaeLynn
      @DenaeLynn  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the most important part...it's what helps to lift out the stain! If you don't have any, you can try to blot with a warm cloth and soap and then use a stain remover if you have one, but just be careful as some products will change the color of the fabric.

      Peroxide you can use if your forniture is clear,like white,beige,clear grey...if is dark you must clean with the peroxide and after clean again with clear water...rinse well with clean water...

    Thanks for this! I do have one suggestion... If you do this video again, it would be really helpful if you did one ottoman, so we could see it compared to the other, since they're identical. I honestly couldn't easily tell the difference between the Before and After. The matching ottoman's would be the ideal opportunity for that. Thanks again!

      Thank you for the suggestion, I'll take that into consideration if I do this again!

      It's just hydrogen peroxide mixed with water! You can use peroxide by itself or dilute it with water.

    Hey Danae. You may want to consider putting a link to where you bought your couch. You might be able to make a commission from it. BTW I loved the music.

    I have a light beige bed frame with an attached bench at the bottom. It got two stains on it and I used those oxyclean sprays and all it created was a darker water rim stain and I was so sad I couldn’t get rid of it bc it’s new. Thank you so much for posting this ! I’m going to try this ! I hope it works .

    • @DenaeLynn
      @DenaeLynn  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh no! Hopefully this method works for you....I know some fabrics are harder to work with but my ottomans are made of linen so hopefully this helps!

      That happen because always when you clean cloths you have to clean all,not only one part...if you clean only a part coming the very bad stains...clean all and not happen...

      I don't use water. You can mix water with the peroxide but it's no necessary and when I do, it's straight from the tap!

    • @DenaeLynn
      @DenaeLynn  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh no! There is nothing wrong with you. Could it possibly be the fabric? I'd love to try to help you figure it out. What do you mean by ruined?

    I followed this on a light blue armchair. All the stains are now gone but after it dried out I noticed that the colour is now a tone lighter 😏

      Really the best is to use peroxide to clean and after again clean with clear water...spetially this is important if is dark...

  • @mel3256
    @mel3256 ปีที่แล้ว

    So when or how are you removing all the soap residue?...If you did this multiple times thee is a ton of soap build up in that fabric. Soap residue breaks down fabric, holds dirt and oil, etc. You need to steam clean or wet vac all that soap out of the material

    Hi! Can I use peroxide in my dark color couches?

    • @DenaeLynn
      @DenaeLynn  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! Perodixe doesn't bleach but if you want to test it out on a small, inconspicuous area, go for it! Our furniture is not white and it's never left any discoloration or spots.

      @DenaeLynn  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I cannot guarantee it but I will say that the ottomans and (chairs that go with them) are dry clean only and I use this method all the time on them! Perhaps you can test out a small spot where it would be inconspicuous???
