What’s strange is that Deltarune judgement hall lacks the most striking visual element of the Undertale one: the huge, screen-obscuring pillars.
But then again, where else do we see pillars in Deltarune?
    The Dark Fountains.
I think this judgement hall scene will take place during the roaring, with the Dark Fountains replacing the physical pillars in UT’s hall to complete the visual parallelism.

Hear me out, but something I think isn't too unlikely and is quite interesting... Roulx card. Firstly, the character who is a representation of a rules card, telling what to do or not to do, judging you actions is just a neat concept. Also parallels to sans, with the whole "Joke character who isn't taken seriously appearing at the end of the game, and judging you" (And maybe a super difficult boss fight pls pls). Lastly, He has shown up several times and is clearly a character with more significance than say... capn. Overall I think this is a relatively likely and interesting character for the judge to be

If there is a judge situation, just because of the sheer parallels to chapter 1 Susie would make so much sense to me. When you were about to start listing characters for the role of the judge, for some reason Susie came to mind. It'd be a perfect parallel.

    • @Kathbunny2
      @Kathbunny2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

Susie becoming less and less violent with each chapter while you become more violent would have such a good hit to it!
The parallels to the player in both the peaceful and violent routes! It'd be fascinating!

    • @TheGlenn8
      @TheGlenn8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Also, this could lead to a very dark situation in snowgrave. Susie seems to have the unique power of being able to completely ignore the player's control AND also being able to derail the story. In snowgrave, where the player has been using their control to do bad things to people, Susie with her unique power to resist the player could be the only person able to stop the player.
This would very much imply that Susie and the player (who is control Kris) would be fighting in the lightworld... Without spells, without cute powers... A real, physical, fight. Possibly with weapons, in the light world.

Jevil, being a mysterious little round guy with gaster ties you meet before you face the king could be an interesting judgement character. Unfortunately hes a little nuts and probably doesnt care enough to do that. In that way spamton would ironically be better for the job. A problem with both is that they dont really appear much if you dont do secret bosses in your run.
A better judgement character would be seam. Seam is with us all throughout the game as a shopkeeper. Has lots of unusual knowledge (does seam know what the other secret bosses do?) and is a figure of wisdom to the player. However seam hasnt appeared outside the shop so far. If this changes seam could be a descent character for the job

That is the interesting thing about Deltarune is that you’re sort of judged so far through out it, especially by the secret bosses, who reflect your choices (the item they turn into) and your experiences of the world being a game, Kris being a puppet

3:46 going off what you said in your titans video where you compared titans to being adults, I feel like it definitely makes even more sense why this part of the Dark World is the way it is. Adults frequented that room, which meant cleaning it happened more often, causing that part of the Dark World to be wiped clean. And the Titan eyes along the walls further that, being signs they were why that area is gone.

Honestly. On the topic of the Boss Parallels...
There IS also the idea to consider that it just MAY, possibly, have Parallels to *Homestuck* as well.
Honestly, it could be a coincidence/Toby simply reusing songs but... compare Carnival and Circus. The theme of two Purple Clowns, who serve a Greater Power, and Know Too Much. Treating the world like a game and inciting Chaos wherever they go.
And LESS strongly, but still possible: Big Shot and Beatdown.
...not to mention The Reckoning and Angel's Heaven, Apocalyptic events that (possibly Inevitable, even required for victory) are triggered by a Player/Knight Disrupting the Balance, shifting it towards Darkness.
And, of course, the Omnipresent Force that seems to Dominate the Plot. A mysterious figure who has minions everywhere, who seems to have his Fingers in every Pie.
Definitely SLIGHTLY unhinged, but *incredibly* interesting if Homestuck and Deltarune are MUCH closer than many suspect, even in just Parallels...

I think Susie is the best candidate for The Judge. No matter how much you level up she's always stronger than Kris, she'll be most likely present in the entirety of the adventure and although she might not directly see the things you've done, she might notice the outcome. Third argument is the scene at the beginning of chapter 1, I think the judgement will be a mirror of that confrontation.
And imagine if the bad outcome isn't a violent action like the beginning of the game, instead she just leaves the party forever, showing she has changed through the adventure.
Edit: just realized I wrote the exact same thing you said on the video minutes before actually saying it. For that I can only say 'My man!🤝'.

I feel like another candidate for the judge could be Toriel since she is technically Kris’s mother. The victims would have went to her about what had happened and Toriel’s main motivation could be some sort of understanding that Kris is being controlled by the player/an external force

  • @mebisanimationsandotherstu8977

I was too also thinking about how the chapters kinda go in reverse to Undertale bosses
With the secret bosses following the opposite order of the souls in psflowey (red, then yellow, I'll consider this pretty much confirmed when ch3 secret boss turns out to use purple heart mechanics) as well as opposite order of genocide (jevil the jester vs sans the comedian, spamton neo vs mettaton NEO)
As for the main chapter bosses, you pit mettaton with spamton but queen fits very well too by virtue of being a killer robot herself (and wanting to give Noelle a square shaped robot face)

    • @NedHaurwem_EN
      @NedHaurwem_EN ปีที่แล้ว +2

Queen also works for other reasons than being a killer robot.
She has two fighting bodies like Mettaton.
Both their second form have a big focus on veritcality (Mettaton with the Yellow soul, Queen with the Punch-out fighting-style that has you hit upwards).
They both end-up brainwashing people to get their desired outcome (Mettaton does it in a neutral end, Queen does it all throughout the chapter with Werewires and Berdly).
Also, Chapter 2 mimics Hotland and Core.
Cyber Plains/City is Hotland. Queen pops up everywhere to play games with you, like Mettaton with his TV shows, neither being a real threat in those parts.
Berdly is a stand-in for Alphys, as the annoying character that always interrupts you but somewhat gets redeemed at the end. Both get betrayed by Queen and Mettaton respectively.
      Queen's Palace is Core.
The music (Pandora Palace) is faster than A Cyber World?, and still plays in battle, just like Core did.
In the palace, Queen's henchmen are set to get rid of you, like Mettaton's henchmen in Core.

I think Ralsei would work the best, honestly. He doesn't want to fight, loke sans (though for different reasons), we don't know how powerful he is, he most likely isn't just a darkner, and he says our choices do matter, and could judge us on if we followed his or Susie's advice. And if you look at Jaru's Ralsei theory (which i hope isn't true), Asriel might not be a candidate for the judge at all.

  • @monotoneheadphones

I think the perfect place for a judgement hall/confrontation of your sins/virtues is the church. We don’t necessarily have to have the same perspective of the world in order to have the same dramatic light and shadow in a long, narrow room, often filled with light from the outside. And considering that Father Alvin is a preacher/pastor at the church, I think that he would be a perfect character to deliver a final judgement. It’s very hard to deny that while it’s not necessarily Christianity- both Undertale and Deltarune have HEAVY religious themes, and that religion is something that does affect these characters. In fact, the judgement hall looks like it could be a place of worship if it weren’t for the lack of pews, and we still havent had access to the church in Deltarune to know where it’s going to effect the story.
Not only that, but churches are often used in media as a location where a main character will reflect upon their actions, decide whether or not to “repent”, and if they do- they will attempt to figure out what repentance means for them, if they don’t- the world will decide their repentance for them.
(I do love this theory concept though its so cool)

My candidate for the judge: Simon Cowell. Complete with the America's Got Talent setup. Loud buzzer, angry British insults, and all the other works.
Jokes aside, I like the Kris judge one the best. I always wonder how Kris feels about the situation and I feel like that's closure the game will withhold until near the end.
I think another possibility is Gaster. Hold on, hold on, hear me out. In Undertale, Sans always had an outsider looking in vibe to him. Even in No Mercy and the more confrontational neutral routes he still felt aloof. I could see Gaster with a guy-with-a-bowl-of-popcorn energy. Like at the end of a Snowgrave route instead of deeming an you awful he goes "holy shit the mad lad actually did it."

Ngl, for some reason after reading the title...I just suddenly thought of Alphys. She's the teacher(the one who gives the tests, huh?)
She's technically the reason why they even traveled to the dark world in the first place and *kinda* the second one because they had to work on the group project, right?
She seems clumsy, submissive, etc. which fits perfectly for a character you will not expect for a judge.
When she notices Kris balancing the trash ball, she avoids admitting to Toriel that Kris was strange lately.
Here's a quote that reminded me of something...
"Um, if you don't want to tell me, that's okay.
I was just really... worried about you.
If... If Susie causes you any trouble, then...
Okay, I... I can't really do anything. Eheh.
But... I'm looking out for you, okay?"
Alphys LOOKS OUT for Kris. As far as i know, Sans was "Looking out" for Frisk too and maybe... the Toriel-Sans relationship is replaced with Toriel-Alphys one?
(Honestly, idk, even if it's kinda stupid, i felt the need of pointing out what I have thought lmao)

    One small thing:
The “leveling up” in the Dark World is referred to as “falselvl” in the code. The code ALSO tracks your LV, but that never goes up, no matter what route you take, in the two chapters we have so far.
So the game does still take into account LV, but the leveling in the dark world is not Lv.

I think a good judge candidate could be Catti, as she seems like a complete opposite of Sans. Unsociable and serious. But like Sans, she's somewhat mysterious and she seems to know something we don't. She has
a goofy and active friend(Jockington), which very well parallels Papyrus. Was in occult with Kris, seems to be able to cast magic, possibly very well(because she taught Noelle to cast magic), has a room in queen's mansion. She is also a student of this school, so it'd make sense for her to be here to confront us for our actions with possible knowledge she has. And she might be the oldest student in class, as she's the only one that has a job.
And considering she very well could be important in the next chapters, I see her as a good candidate to be the judge.

He invited us into Deltarune from Twitter.
He made parts of the game's code (meaning he can analyze your actions from the very beginning).

Another character I feel might be a good judge candidate would be Rouxls Kaard. He appears in chapter 1, chapter 2, and we know he's appearing in chapter 3. It's not a stretch to think that he might appear in the rest. Not to mention, he would parallel Sans- a comedic character who knows more than we thought.
Another thing is we KNOW he is more powerful than we can see. He's teased the power many times, but we've never got to see it, not to mention he is aware of game systems. When he's in your inventory, a cut off piece of text has him complaining about how his text is, well, cut off, which he wouldn't know would happen if he didn't know about the game screen.

I think Toby plans to double down on Undertale's message of "The only evil in this place is you!". I expect at some point the characters will rebel against the player and find a way to remove the soul and soft-lock a save file. At which point when you open another save, Sans will be there saying "I saw what happened in the other save. If you don't start making things up to people who whole game will soft lock."

@therandomguyhiThe fact that there's no evil outside of the genocide route proves my point. And there are three saves. Now THIS is a good theory.
I am also expecting Kris to rip the SOUL out and talk directly to us at one point, however I theorize it will come much earlier at the end of Chapter 5. He'll leave the SOUL lying around, one of the other characters will accidentally find it and let us take control (probably Susie), and they will get to speak to uncontrolled Kris... so basically the same scenario you described but now you spend chapters 6 and 7 trying to close the dark fountains he's going to create. It would be such a cool twist and plot hanger for chapters 6 and 7.
Unfortunately, there's another good theory out there that DeltaRune will be the Mother 3 to Undertale's Earthbound and since Toby has already stated that there will be only ONE ending to DR, I find the inclusion of the judgement hall plausible but not guaranteed. After all, it can't really be the prelude to different endings if there's only one ending, right?
So, why did I mention the Mother 3 theory? Those of you who remember the end of Mother 3 (and the last Yes/No choice you get to make) will know exactly what I mean.
Then again.... Mother 3 also had you confront your brother before the end. So the Asriel scenario is still a possibility.
My other theory is that the judgement hall will feature all the killable characters (like Berdly) in some way.

I think there won't be anything like that, instead, there are recruits, i think that they matter, after i finished chapter 2, and I didn't recruit everyone, and the game started to say that from the moment i entered dark world, queen being sad about nubert, then save file with red text saying that I won't be able to come back to cyber world, and when i came to talk to the king, he told that he doesn't want to talk to me, and "you left them, didn't you?".
So i think it will have 3 routes as well, one with not every recruit, second with every recruit and secret boss beaten, and the last one is snowgrave route as you all call it (there are more characters than just Noelle, we will have to rename that route guys)

2:00 Oh my gosh! What if the 3rd to last boss in Chapter 3 is similar to Undyne because it *IS* Undyne. Think about the pattern so far
    2 Lightners added every chapter
Chapter 1 - Kris and Susie
Chapter 2 - Noelle and Berdly
Chapter 3 - Toriel (Who fell asleep when the fountain was created) and someone else
Knowing that Toriel called the police to come and investigate the house, my bet is on someone from the police force. It seems like Toby is setting up Undyne to join this chapter as you can actually tell Undyne about the dark world and she hasn’t listened so maybe the only way to get Undyne to realise dark worlds are real is to bring her into the dark world.
Now about the bosses. We have had 1 of the 2 Lightners that get added every chapter join the opposing side and even have a boss battle. Can you see where I am going with this? The Lightner who joined the opposing side in Chapter 1 at one point was Susie, in Chapter 2 it was Berdly and because Toriel wouldn’t betray her own child, Undyne fits the role perfectly. Yes I know Undyne has a strong sense of justice however Undyne isn’t the brightest character of all time so she could be tricked by the antagonist of Chapter 3 to join their side.
There is a slight problem with 2 Lightners get added every chapter because Kris and Susie came back for Chapter 2 so does that mean Noelle and Berdly will come back for Chapter 3? How will Toby find a way to insert them into the story? Plus, what will happen in the Snowgrave route? I don’t think Berdly will be coming back for Chapter 3 in the Snowgrave route, that’s for sure!
Edit: Oh yeah, because Toriel uses magic quite a lot, I would expect her Dark World outfit to be a witch. And I would also expect Undyne’s outfit to be a Wild West outfit. My reason for this is that Undyne is a sherif in the Light World and a sherif can be interpreted for the Wild West. Also knowing that Blue Bubble . Rodeo exists thanks to the Spamton Sweepstakes, it is clear we are getting a Wild West area perhaps where Undyne is first introduced in the Dark World.

I think there's a decent chance for Susie to be the one making the big speech in the hallway, not as a "judge" or something edgy-undertale like that, but more as she reflects on the massive journey she and Kris have underwent before making a big step in it, leaning into Deltarune's emphasis on "choices" as much as Undertale does on "friendship."

And there are 5 chapters ahead of us... so yes, at this point we are just trying to point the right star in the night sky

the only thing i can solve the Ralsei issue of not being able to be in the Light world, will be by in the final chapter starting the roaring, where Darkness overpower Light itself and those, Darkners can be in the Light world as an extension of the Dark World (or more curious side of the road, both Darkners and Lightners being able to be in one place as Lightners being in their Light form and Darkners in their Dark form like Paprika and their scene of Dream and Reality merging)

I can't believe I only found about your channel now! I haven't heard someone talk about this subject before!
I'm leaning towards a darkener being at this scene, It'd just make more thematic sense for a character from the thing we're being judged for to be judging us, Like Sans was.
Personally... I'm either going for King or Ralsei on this one. I know they're both darkeners and CURRENTLY it'd be physically impossible for them to go to the Light world but presuming this scene would edge towards the end of the game...Something BIG could happen to allow them to go there, The up-roaring or some other event possibly. But let's just say the up-roaring for now.
For King, King already knows somewhat between neutral and pacifist runs. Which is already Sans-esc. He's the boss of the first chapter which gives us a personal connection. The way I see it for him is that he could drop hints throughout the game, eventually escape his prison close to the end of the game...And confronts us at the School room about what we've done to his people.
Will he be pleased or not That's decided by what YOU'VE done.
And for Ralsei... Ralsei has some weird stuff going down, the implications around Ralsei being related to our brother, him skipping through dark worlds, him knowing about the games mechanics, him convincing us to go off screen so he can talk to Kris.
He's also the one who's been suggesting pacifism...
But honestly all that seems WAY too obvious for Toby Fox. I wonder what he has in store.
Seam could be a darkener judge, His whole personality would make the scene fit but...He'd look a bit goofy in the school hall and he fits more of the Secret Boss position.
PS: For the Lightners Kris is a valid suspect also, After all the Discarded Vessel is saved in the files. It has to be used ONCE... We'll probably confront him while possessing it at some point.

During the explanation of the hallway and going from one room to another, it made me imagine the confrontation not being judged *exactly*, but rather running into the Roaring Knight itself. Kris having to go into the far room, and by the time we come back out we catch the Knight about to enter Castle Town in the Light World for some purpose.
Even if we've fought before, in the Light World neither of us would be able to properly fight. A chance to actually talk, unobscured by darkness. Maybe the Knight judges you for your actions in trying to stop it. Maybe you can judge it for its actions. After all, Kris made a fountain themselves. Are they really that different? (Probably, yes.)
Is it likely? Ahaha probably not. But catching the Knight in the act in the Light World where neither of you can fight at full power is something that'd be interesting to see regardless. Especially if the "humans are OP compared to monsters" lore is still applicable to Deltarune, meaning the Knight has absolutely no chance if it comes down to a Light World brawl verses a full boss fight in a Dark World. That'd be a Snowgrave twist. Skipping a final confrontation with the Knight by just... killing them in the real world, where they can't fight back.

And that perhaps Kris originally had the light blue/cyan soul. (Whether it was replaced or it changed, likely for reasons relating to our influence)

Here's my theory; the judge will be Toriel. She doesn't judge Kris, she judges the player's treatment of Kris. In a good scenario, she thanks the player for being a guide for Kris and trusts us to carry them through whatever final trial awaits. In a bad scenario, she heartbreakingly tries to fight Kris, or rather the player using Kris, to prevent her child from suffering further at the hands of the player. It'd also fit with the idea that the bosses are the reverse of those in undertale, starting with a King and ending with, in this scenario, Toriel, where undertale started with toriel and ended with a king.

@@browniefox7218 PS. Recently I theorized that Omega Flowey was using Deltarune save machines since he used 3 save files during the fight. Preparing by saving all of them right before the battle, right after overriding ours.
In Deltarune, we override Kris's save with our own, and when we copy a save that we actually saved with in-game over the other three save slots Gaster/Geoff in the menu says "Preparations have been made.".
Afterwards, the friend I was talking to mentioned that and linked me to a tumbler post explaining the "9 SOULS" theory. In game there are 3 save files.
      Files 0, 8, and 9.
File 0 always mimic save file 9. Though File 9 can be saved independently of File 0, it doesn't work the other way around. It's impossible to save for File 0 without File 9. It was theorized by the poster that File 9 is our/frisk's Save File, and File 0 is Chara's. Because Chara explained that the determination, LV, gold, exp, etcetera, was not theirs, but ours. In the way these files interact with each other this can be seen as very literal, and not figurative by any means. Their save File, File 0, _quite literally_ conformes to the information of File 9 like a mirror. Though File 9 can save without reflecting onto File 0 in certain instances. Showing a power that File 9 has over 0. Suggesting that it is like... in possession of File 0 and control over it like an extra spare save file.
The very last frame before Flowey closes the game after getting the 6 human souls in the first playthrough after downloading the game is when File 8 is created. Before that, only 9 and 0 exist. Not in game, but only in the code does he also use a "File 6". I mean, he uses Files 1, 2, and 3 in the fight, but also 6 in the code. UNUSED CODE suggests he was originally supposed to use File 4. So it's assumed that Omega Flowey uses the 6 human souls to attain their "SAVE FILES". Each one being controlled by Flowey. This would make up Files 1-6.
So... the poster also went on to theorize that they are going in chronological order, from the first human at File-0, then each fallen child after them gets us to File-6, File-8 just appears into existence when Flowey closes the game which means that 8 is DEFINITELY his, and then ours which is some how controlling Chara's save file brings us up to all 9 save files in Undertale. Except for File 7, mysteriously....
The poster "thinks" that File 7 might belong to the amalgamate "Lemmon Bread", but honestly..... there's no evidence in the game, it's code, or outside of the game that we can really attribute File 7 to....
Which means in Undertale there is a character that has a save file that we simply don't know about. We know it isn't us, Frisk, Chara, the fallen children, or even Flowey. But if the poster's prediction that they are numbered in chronological order from the first entity with control over the time-line to the last, then we can at least narrow down the candidates.
It has to be someone who gained the power AFTER all of the 6 human children were killed and placed in Jars by Asgor, but also BEFORE Flowey was injected with DT by Alphys. This is what made the original poster believe it would probably be an amalgamate, and likely Lemmon Bread because we encounter it shaped like one, but I don't think that's really it.
Because the 6 children were killed an indeterminate amount of time ago. File 7 could even have been made before Alphys became the new royal scientist. 🤔
Technically It could be a TON of candidates, including Sans, who was only described to have shown up one day and asserted himself (and Papyrus of course!).
Regardless of the nature of File 7, I theorize that in Deltarune we have 3 save files because we're literally controlling 3 different (Kris)es across 3 different universes, thus having 3 Save files at our disposal. We are then and thus (some kind of entity) with the power of at least 3 human souls. More evidence of this is the variations of Asriel's dresser items. Thus, we play as a human which cannot absorb other human souls, we can control only 1 human soul... but the rules never said that we couldn't control 1 human soul multiple times! And, because Flowey's 6 souls rebelled against him and Chara rebelled against us after Geno, the concept of "SOUL Resonance" from the *_Hopes and Dreams!_* fight might imply that souls that are more similar 'Resonates' with each other easier. Thus, if we can absolutely 100% control a single human soul, across multiple worlds, even if they are _Technically_ different people, they have nearly identical souls, so if you have one, you get a 3 for 1 deal. Sort of speak. Taking this concept further. . .
Technically speaking... we have between 6 and 9 save files in Deltarune as of right now.
Chapter 2 has continuations of you Ch-1 saves. But you can start each slot from a single Ch-1 save if you want to, without any of the Ch-1 saves not existing. So you can have 3 unique saves in Ch-1, and 3 unique saves in Chapter 2 that simply aren't just continuations of Ch-1 saves. Thus, we have 6. And (Technically-Technical) 9 files if we include the ones made for just jumping right into Ch-2 without doing Ch-1.
      XD
      I feel crazy.. 🤪
But I'm pretty sure that this theory makes sense. 🤔

A thing no one has touched on yet is the fact the queens basement “Digital Roots” is the beginning notes from Your Best Nightmare
I think it would be cool if you covered what this could mean

Great video!! The thought that there might be a Judgement Hall in Deltarune is really interesting and I'm looking forward for the future chapters 😍 I think Kris themselves being the judge is very likely. I personally don't think that Toby might recycle old, relevant characters from Undertale like Sans, Papyrus or Asriel for such an important scene, but if Toby is recycling a bit, I think that either Toriel or Alphys could also be the judge, considering they're working at the school. Also, at the end of Ch 2., it is seen that Toriel is sleeping on the chair while Kris opens the dark fountain in the living room, meaning Toriel will be in a dark world in Ch 3, making her a possible judge, as she knows of the dark world. Maybe, Alphys will visit the dark world too, but who knows?

2:00 i like the concept, i have had something similar,
(here we go, this is a long one, so i am sorry)
however, since asgore here represents determination, and MTT represents justice, with undyne representing kindness,
i have a feeling that all the different secret boss soul types follow the same line as the omega flowey fight, but in reverse, with determination coming first,
this also follows the order in which you come across the souls in undertale
(though, with the reverse omega flowey thing, the dark blue soul and orange is the only soul we know nothing of battle wise,
but using the reverse omega flowey method, it will become aparent to us (prob) in chapter 5/6
which means, that chapter 4 might be about spiders or smth idk, but then chapter 7 will be
the light blue soul, patience, which is fitting, as we are waiting for asriel (who will indefinitely appear in chapter 7) aswell as, what i assume, is papyrus (if papyrus is actually in the game and not just jerry with different clothing) and aswell as that, the knight, who i assume will come when the time is right, to step into kris's way, who knows,

No Dess? Dess would even be good as a parallel being the mysterious older sibling of another character you spend a lot of time with. Since we don't see what she's been up to it wouldn't even be surprising for her to pop up and be like "I've had my eye on you, *player name*."

Hmmmmm Small lil flaw I think could hinder the chances of Kris = Judge would be the choosing mechanic (Like where you chose a prompt to respond) Since before in past scenes, Kris has a reaction to them and depending on the action, Kris would either be like saying what the player chose be "Ehhhh....alright then..." pretty much kinda unsure or meh on it (Like in Spamton's Post scene) or "HELL YEAH ALRIGHT THEN!!" (Examples being when you choose Perish on Queens offer and when you choose Susie to go to the fair). And since there is no like way to answer...I feel like it could be hard to implement a sort of your own choice thing without it having to conflict other actions. Unless there is like a pre-set type of answers then it would stay the same as most likely.

Ralsei would be a great candidate not o Lu because of his strange acts but also of his inate knowledge of the player, he would reflect with us during the pacifist run but during the weird route he would take a similar route to sans and fight Kris even though he knows it’s a losing battle because he fears the worst is yet to come

It seems to me that there will be no trial at all in Deltarane. Instead, there will be some other event that will change our understanding of what is happening. If you don't take a Strange route, that judgment will be useless in a world where your choice doesn't matter. But most likely there will be a similar scene in the castle city, where you will be able to see all your recruits and Ralsey's replicas will differ from their number.

It'd be a little funny if sans is the judge again. Just chilling in front of the supply closet, waiting for a rematch or something.

do you think castle town is the last dark world we will seal? and we have to say goodbye to ralsei? maybe thats the ending we cannot change.

also random, i feel like if kris is confronting us, that if the player was the knight, that could lead to very interesting interactions.

I go back and forth - my ending prediction are as solid as water. I think it’s possible, though, as kind of a big sacrifice in order to save the world, though stories where the magic has to go away at the end always makes me sad, but it can hit when done right.

I have a small idea, what if judgement comes from all potential weird route characters from the time you leave the castle town world all the way home?
Wasting your time from afternoon to sundown to dark seems fitting enough

Berdly would be my choice, since on the normal/pacifist route I think it’s possible he would be a party member, so far he’s the only lightner who’s not a party member, and having berdly willingly join Kris as a party member especially with Noelle involved parallels how he stopped Kris from joining Noelle and Berdly as group of 3,
And like you said with the weird route, a victim of Kris’ horrid actions ultimately coming back to judge Kris is perfect karma

    JUDGE CANDIDATE: SPAMTON
WHY: I JUST WANT TO HIT HIM MORE TBH
No but really, very cool video! I never once noticed the parallel between the school and the judgement hall. I don't think we can predict an accurate judge tbh, if there even is one. Like, we can't even predict The Roaring Knight yet! That does however, mean it's *very* fun to talk about as it's very hard to shoot down ideas. That said, I am now going to talk about something you brought up for exactly four sentences:
I never once considered how Sans was able to know about our stats lol.
There's always been this sort of, "silver painted bullet" against NarraChara that's been the CHECK action. Something I never really had problems with (hence the "painted" part of the silver bullet joke) especially since telepathy is explicitly canonized in Deltarune Chapter 2 (both routes, not just snowgrave) but to know that a character in game can see your literal stats, without even being in a battle AND without being in a darkworld despite near-explicitly being from Deltarune? Man, the Check action sure does seem like a common ability lol. Common enough that multiple characters can know how to mess with what results you get from it. It's very neat.
