the way Noelle described everything and how she felt perfectly encapsulates the feeling of losing someone you love. I personally lost someone very close to me and its traumatizing. You wish you could have done more and you feel like its your fault and it never is. You did all you could do and its not your fault. When someone dies you feel alone and afraid everyone else will leave you too. You feel like there will come a time where everyone leaves you and your going to be alone with your pain. But the truth is there will always be someone there, someone with you in the dark, someone to hold your hand when the light is running low. It can be anyone and could even be an animal. It could be anything but it will always be there holding onto you and keeping you from losing hope. You may never recover from the loss of a loved one, but you can accept they are gone and look towards the future.

I don’t think enough people realize this, but I love how the end has an miniature reference to Asriel. Choosing “Comfort” in either example will result in a hug, and at first I thought this was a coincidence, until Noelle said the line, “I don’t want to let go” MMMMM. It might be 7 YEARS OLD but I still love Undertale so much, just as much as Deltarune (Though I do prefer Undertale over Chapter 1) Both are still great games which is why I loves callbacks to it so much.😃

I know everyone gushes at how awesome and believably canon this is, especially in regards to the heart wrenching ending, but I need to say that I feel so bad for Asgore. He’s just still at home, worried about his kid and has no idea he’s been abandoned.
Sorry, am thoroughly convinced you just came from the future to share leaked footage. Joking aside, this was a splendid and wonderful animation that all your effort seriously shows in. It definitely captures the original series' charm well, so massive kudos on that.
This is easily the best Deltarune fanimation I've seen. It looks exactly like something that would play out in the actual game, down to the tiniest details like the slight gap in the tileset where the path through the forest was. The dialogue was spot-on too, especially with Susie. Lots of fan works have her be too one-note, such as Deltatraveler or Kris Performs Surgery, but she struck the perfect balance of mischief, comedy, and serious introspection. Wonderful work!
@@RoboMirek a close second. I love that kind of stuff (characters just bonding and having a great time together), so I look forward to the stuff Toby has planned for us in the future chapters. The Hyperlink Spamton animation looks like it will be the best so far in terms of animation quality, but this sappy stuff is where I get my serotonin lol
this is canon to me. i literally don't care. everything about this is so perfect. the characters are written so well and the plot moves so smoothly. it was such a gut punch to see a fifth grave and come to the horrifying realization about rudy and what asgore meant. and the scene with kris comforting noelle...it just feels like something toby would make. this is so underrated.
@@Grandmother628 Eh, I based the logic off of that one scene in Chapter 2 where Kris and Susie overhear Monster Kid and Snowdrake talk about the bunker door. Despite being nearby, they don’t notice them until Susie confronts them directly. Besides, because this takes place at night time, it’s easier to suspend your disbelief with how much other people can see them!
Honestly this feels like something that could genuinely happen in later chapters based on what we know now. The reveal near the end really hit hard given my experience with something similar as well. Overall, good going with this one.
Honestly the best Deltarune animation I’ve seen to date. The writing was excellent and imitated Toby’s writing style very nicely, the animation and sprites were on point, most dialogue options were great and you remembered that this is supposed to be a game, and took extra care to make it look like something playable. The „your choices don’t matter“ moment when you should choose wether or not Berdly joins the team is a nice example of that. Overall, great job!
so... sweet... I know I'm repeating myself but, once again, to think that I, a kid with ADHD and Autism, felt NOTHING, NOTHING at Rudy's illness and Dess's vanishing, and all the pains Noelle and Berdly went through... THIS SOMEHOW WAS SO GOOD THAT I FELT IT! I can you not, when they all hugged Noelle I shed a tear of happiness. I already subscribed so the best I can do is like the vid and RING THAT BELL!
That scene where they all embrace one another brought a tear to my eye. Wonderful animation. I can’t help to feel bad for Asgore though, he just wants to reconcile and everyone is leaving him out to dry. Hope they all went back for him and had that cup of tea after all this.
Yeah lol But I find it interesting how Berdly was last to join in the hug, wether that was just the way it was animated with no intent of actual plot OR… When I watched this for the first time, I thought it was Chapter 2. Although it isn’t acoding to the desc. Which means, it could be an aborted snowgrave route- or, what it seemed like, pacifist. If it WAS aborted snowgrave, that’d mean everyone ignored what happened except for Berdly?? But I’m probably looking too far into this But what I’m saying is, player did aborted snowgrave in this and Berdly remembers. I am definitely looking too far into this
@@spiriox I think this is set in a pacifist timeline post Chapter 2, In my opinion Berdly hugs last because he doubts that he has been a good enough friend to Noelle to console her, he is afraid she might detest him and that he’s just going to make things worse for her.
literally during the entire scene with berdly and the graveyard gate I was just saying "or, just, you know, go around the gate. Like, yeah, that's cool, or just go around it. Yes, berdly, there is another way in, just go around the gate."
Fhe best thing to me is: Birdly has wings, Susie could probabaly bite off the lock, andk,ris could probabaly slip through the poles in the gate undertale style

spoilers for ending// I gotta say that I love how you wrote the ending. Specifically with the whole strength and grief in trying to comfort Noelle. It was very heartwarming, and I genuinely started crying when it was revealed that Rudy passed. Susie relating her struggles in being perceived as tough was a good comparison and you just really got the characters so on point. Good Work!!!
Yeah, I started crying too, I never realized how emotionally vulnerable I was to this kind of thing, I genuinely wanted to comfort Noelle in that moment, because I've lost a couple loved ones too
Oh my gosh, I love this so much! I adore basically everything about it, but I think my favorite part of it is probably Berdly trying to be a good friend. I think about his and Noelle's awkward friendship all the time, and the part where he was worried about meeting her because he figured he'd be the last person she'd want to see... man. That hit different. I was kind of worried that he wouldn't really get to be a part of this story, as I'm used to seeing him treated in fanworks as not really an important part of the friend group, at least not in the same way that Noelle is. Believe it or not, Berdly means a lot to me, and seeing him here being a friend made me so happy. I especially love the moment where he kind of missed the cue to join the group hug, but then he does when Susie called him over. It's a detail that both fits with him just being bad at 'reading' people, and perhaps him not really being sure that Noelle would want a hug from him. It's so good aaaaaaaaaaaa

I don't have anything to say except that I think this is _really_ well-made. The writing is wonderful and every character feels alive, like Kris really does live in a small town where people care about each other. I loved the inversion of the typical "go and talk to everyone to see the story" by making this a stealth mission, too. All in all, great job.
If I had a nickel for every SpriterMike animation I've seen that ends with the Deltarune cast hugging I would have two nickels, which isn't a lot but I'm glad I have them

Man, when i saw the preview on Reddit i thought it was gonna be just Kris and Susie messing around town at night,with maybe some dark world shenanigans,but damn,that was deep.I really liked how you structured all of it,also the sprites were on point, very toby-ish,dialog was very catching,ending was ready sad. Amazing animation, feels like something like this could happen. Hope this dosent happen on the game though.
Wow this looks so real! Great storytelling, kept surprising me about what was gonna come next and I think it's a very realistic part of the story for deltarune to have. It's also crazy that stuff like this is an animation, it looks real to the point where I'd assume it's a mod if not for the title

Deltarune is a parallel to undertale in many ways, Alphys and Undyne don’t know each other, for example In Undertale, Rudy is dead and Dess is not dissapeared, so maybe in Deltarune Rudy will live
Wow, this was just incredible. Everything felt perfectly in-character, the dialogue was spot-on, the animations were on point, this really feels like it could be from a future chapter. Fantastic work!
One year ago when I saw this, I smiled, seeing how no matter how hopeless life seemed, there was always someone there for you, but after recent losses of family, depression grew on me, slowly taking my mind and insanity and grief took over, the person I was once known as felt as if it never existed, as if my love and care for everyone disappeared, every night, I'd visit the cemitary and all I wish was to see their smiles, hear their voices, and I kept beating myself over that I could've saved them, been there when they died, I never knew how lucky I had it until it was too late, and seeing this animation reminded me my friends were always there, and after a while, the tears finally left my eyes, I couldn't stop, and I felt nothing but guilt for it all, but this animation brings back memories, some harsh and some better, and even if I can't move on, I feel like I've been a different person, an empty vessle with a cold heart, but deep inside, that lost soul calling in need of help, thank you for it all, even if you don't know that you did a nice thing, you showed me a lot more that I tried avoiding to see, thank you and have an amazing life, enjoy your moments while you can, cause you never know when it'll be taken from you.
I gotta say, of all the random fan animations I've seen for this game, this one actually feels the most in character. I feel like some people never bother figuring out the little speech mannerisms of characters and just sort of use a default voice instead and, most of the time, you were totally using a voice for each character that felt like their own. It effects a lot, like how they say certain things and, thus, articulate ideas. Shit's crucial.

incredible stuff. you’ve really captured the feeling of toby’s work, but at the same time made it much darker. on a lighter note, this was in my watch later, and the very next thing that came on after that touching outro was a low quality version of the among us drip music
This is one of the best fanmade continuation of deltarune i have ever seen. You’ve perfectly captured the essence of every character and how they speak/react! It shows how susie cares for those in need, how berdly tries his hardest to be a good friend, asgore trying his best to reconnect with his family, etc. You have done a wonderful job with this animation! while watching sometimes i actually forgot i was watching a fan animation lol. you did a really good job! realizing towards the end that the flowers where actually meant for rudys grave was really well done, i figured rudy was still in hospital untill that scene

It's been 5 months, things are bright. I started using proper grammar. I've been also more public with the fact I'm a Roleplayer. I'm still a fan of Deltarune/Undertale. This animation is great and I can see it actually be in the game itself. And I find it fun to see how I used to type in the past. I hope anyone who reads this to have a wonderful year of 2023. I'm posting this for the algorithm, because most of what I was about to say was already said by everyone else. Excellent job! I clicked the video, realized it's *half-hour long,* and got scared because I didn't want to waste my time in "yet another DR fanmade". Needless to say, this blew up my expectations!
This animation is awesome! Rant up ahead: I'm so happy to see someone put this much work into a non-snowgrave oriented fanwork, ever since deltarune chapter 2 came out I had wished it had taken longer to find out about the snowgrave route, players could have enjoyed characters like Noelle and Spamton, without non-stop associating them with a secret route, the exact same thing happened to sans when the genocide route gained traction on the internet, and in my opinion it ruins a good character
Thanks, it was fun making a Noelle scenario that didn’t explicitly focus on murder for once lol! Funny enough, I do plan on making a Snowgrave version eventually just to juxtapose with this version. Don’t worry tho, I’ll be putting my own “flair” on things to make it something unique and special, if you’re cool with that lol

And the way you wove layers of mystery and speculation, changing the context and our understanding as the events played out is nothing short of masterful. I'm in utter awe. Edit: I just read the description. You did everything perfectly. You stuck the landing perfectly with the emotional scene at the end, especially in how you showed Susie has grown in her emotional intelligence. You did an outstanding job. And you didn't rely on Snowgrave stuff. I'll admit, I thought that's what I was gonna get, but you made something emotionally resonant and thus something far beyond whatever cool aesthetics and intriguing mystery that Snowgrave could provide. I want to see you hone your craft further as a writer.

This made me feel calm, exclusively the comfort at the end. When you lose someone you love, you miss them at the point of wanting to stay in their grave for a lot of time. But at the end, we are never alone, there will always be someone for you. Don't be stuck in the past, take a look of what do you have today.
Wow!! This was beautiful. You have a talent for writing AND animating! The pacing was spot on, didn’t feel too fast or too slow. Dialogue was heartfelt but not very cheesy and felt in line with how the character’s would act. Overall amazing job!!

I feel like the way you described everybody's dialogue is a perfect remake of the game, most fanimations have the characters say things that are completely inaccurate, but this was spot on.

Susie feels like Susie and not the watered down version you see sometimes, you have a great understanding of her character and I’m really happy about it, this felt like it could be actual gameplay, it was. Aaaaaaa 💜 u did amazingly on this
I lost my two baby brother's when I was 10 and seeing Noelle here is what I felt when I lost both of them, I felt vulnerable and thought I wasn't a good brother, but in the end it wasn't anyone's fault, the song "don't forget" always reminds me that even if my siblings are gone and I'm at my worst, they're with me in the dark
Okay, I already see the first 13 minutes of the animation when you posted it on Reddit and I already love it, now that I have seen the entirety of it, I can confirm without a doubt that this is one of best (if not the best) sprite animation I’ve seen on Deltarune. Everything from the dialogue, the animation , the characterization of Susie, Noelle and (my beloved) Berdly is perfect, and the end really have done something to my heart, it just a beautiful work. I just hope for you that Toby Fox see this because you literally deserve to have your animation seen by the entirety of this community, have a good very good day and wish you the best ^^. @@SpriterMike I also admire the fact that you let the whole scenario play in its own right. As much of a hopeless deep lore junkie as I am, including Dark World or Gaster stuff in this rather personal and grounded scenario would have made it feel more cheap, at least in most cases. Just letting these characters take in the moment and comfort Noelle after her father's death was definitely the right move. I like that. =>
This is one of my favourite deltarune (fan) animation so far, the writing is really incredible! It felt like it was an actual writing made for this game. I'm also so happy to see the characters written so well and aren't OOC (out of character.). I especially love how Susie & Kris comforting Noelle (And susie tells berdly to join them together for a group hug) it's so sweet.

I really love this animation *i even got too entertained watching it that i forgot it was an animation and i thought it was a fangame lol* It really captures the toby fox style of how he makes his games, you're really talented.
Similar thing happened to me when my grandmother passed away i felt weak cause she was a person along with my parents and siblings i only cared about because everyone else i had passed away and she took care of me the most when my parents are usually gone to work struggling to work just to keep us in housing i can never blame my parents for how much time they sacrificed just for me and my siblings when we were younger to stay out of homelessness and my grandmother helped so much that when she passed away it was way too much for me that i even almost gave up on myself but my father and mother encouraged me to not let this be the end and to keep going because God has something special for me once my life ends and i believed them and i have a better life now thanks to my parents and faith in God.
Yeah, during our hardest moments it’s tough to remember, but there are those out there everyday who look out for us and love us more than anything! Thanks for sharing, I hope you’re doing better now!

The dialogue was spot-on too, especially with Susie. Lots of fan works have her be too one-note, such as Deltatraveler or Kris Performs Surgery, but she struck the perfect balance of mischief, comedy, and serious introspection. Wonderful work!

this is canon to me. i literally don't care. everything about this is so perfect. the characters are written so well and the plot moves so smoothly. it was such a gut punch to see a fifth grave and come to the horrifying realization about rudy and what asgore meant. and the scene with kris comforting noelle...it just feels like something toby would make. this is so underrated.

@@Grandmother628 Eh, I based the logic off of that one scene in Chapter 2 where Kris and Susie overhear Monster Kid and Snowdrake talk about the bunker door. Despite being nearby, they don’t notice them until Susie confronts them directly. Besides, because this takes place at night time, it’s easier to suspend your disbelief with how much other people can see them!

Honestly the best Deltarune animation I’ve seen to date. The writing was excellent and imitated Toby’s writing style very nicely, the animation and sprites were on point, most dialogue options were great and you remembered that this is supposed to be a game, and took extra care to make it look like something playable. The „your choices don’t matter“ moment when you should choose wether or not Berdly joins the team is a nice example of that. Overall, great job!

I know I'm repeating myself but, once again, to think that I, a kid with ADHD and Autism, felt NOTHING, NOTHING at Rudy's illness and Dess's vanishing, and all the pains Noelle and Berdly went through... THIS SOMEHOW WAS SO GOOD THAT I FELT IT! I can you not, when they all hugged Noelle I shed a tear of happiness. I already subscribed so the best I can do is like the vid and RING THAT BELL!

When I watched this for the first time, I thought it was Chapter 2. Although it isn’t acoding to the desc. Which means, it could be an aborted snowgrave route- or, what it seemed like, pacifist. If it WAS aborted snowgrave, that’d mean everyone ignored what happened except for Berdly?? But I’m probably looking too far into this

I gotta say that I love how you wrote the ending. Specifically with the whole strength and grief in trying to comfort Noelle. It was very heartwarming, and I genuinely started crying when it was revealed that Rudy passed. Susie relating her struggles in being perceived as tough was a good comparison and you just really got the characters so on point. Good Work!!!

Oh my gosh, I love this so much! I adore basically everything about it, but I think my favorite part of it is probably Berdly trying to be a good friend. I think about his and Noelle's awkward friendship all the time, and the part where he was worried about meeting her because he figured he'd be the last person she'd want to see... man. That hit different. I was kind of worried that he wouldn't really get to be a part of this story, as I'm used to seeing him treated in fanworks as not really an important part of the friend group, at least not in the same way that Noelle is. Believe it or not, Berdly means a lot to me, and seeing him here being a friend made me so happy. I especially love the moment where he kind of missed the cue to join the group hug, but then he does when Susie called him over. It's a detail that both fits with him just being bad at 'reading' people, and perhaps him not really being sure that Noelle would want a hug from him. It's so good aaaaaaaaaaaa

I don't have anything to say except that I think this is _really_ well-made. The writing is wonderful and every character feels alive, like Kris really does live in a small town where people care about each other. I loved the inversion of the typical "go and talk to everyone to see the story" by making this a stealth mission, too. All in all, great job.

The fact that everyone is perfectly in character and that it’s almost completely accurate to Deltarune’s style is amazing
One year ago when I saw this, I smiled, seeing how no matter how hopeless life seemed, there was always someone there for you, but after recent losses of family, depression grew on me, slowly taking my mind and insanity and grief took over, the person I was once known as felt as if it never existed, as if my love and care for everyone disappeared, every night, I'd visit the cemitary and all I wish was to see their smiles, hear their voices, and I kept beating myself over that I could've saved them, been there when they died, I never knew how lucky I had it until it was too late, and seeing this animation reminded me my friends were always there, and after a while, the tears finally left my eyes, I couldn't stop, and I felt nothing but guilt for it all, but this animation brings back memories, some harsh and some better, and even if I can't move on, I feel like I've been a different person, an empty vessle with a cold heart, but deep inside, that lost soul calling in need of help, thank you for it all, even if you don't know that you did a nice thing, you showed me a lot more that I tried avoiding to see, thank you and have an amazing life, enjoy your moments while you can, cause you never know when it'll be taken from you.
I gotta say, of all the random fan animations I've seen for this game, this one actually feels the most in character. I feel like some people never bother figuring out the little speech mannerisms of characters and just sort of use a default voice instead and, most of the time, you were totally using a voice for each character that felt like their own. It effects a lot, like how they say certain things and, thus, articulate ideas. Shit's crucial.

I'm so happy to see someone put this much work into a non-snowgrave oriented fanwork, ever since deltarune chapter 2 came out I had wished it had taken longer to find out about the snowgrave route, players could have enjoyed characters like Noelle and Spamton, without non-stop associating them with a secret route, the exact same thing happened to sans when the genocide route gained traction on the internet, and in my opinion it ruins a good character
Thanks, it was fun making a Noelle scenario that didn’t explicitly focus on murder for once lol! Funny enough, I do plan on making a Snowgrave version eventually just to juxtapose with this version. Don’t worry tho, I’ll be putting my own “flair” on things to make it something unique and special, if you’re cool with that lol

Okay, I already see the first 13 minutes of the animation when you posted it on Reddit and I already love it, now that I have seen the entirety of it, I can confirm without a doubt that this is one of best (if not the best) sprite animation I’ve seen on Deltarune.
Everything from the dialogue, the animation , the characterization of Susie, Noelle and (my beloved) Berdly is perfect, and the end really have done something to my heart, it just a beautiful work.

It's surprisingly rare to have UT/DR fan animations that are this in-game consistent, in terms of visuals, characterization and lore/story.
Yeah, I really wanted to go for consistency within the animation, to make it feel really authentic. I’m glad to see it payed off!
@@SpriterMike I also admire the fact that you let the whole scenario play in its own right. As much of a hopeless deep lore junkie as I am, including Dark World or Gaster stuff in this rather personal and grounded scenario would have made it feel more cheap, at least in most cases. Just letting these characters take in the moment and comfort Noelle after her father's death was definitely the right move. I like that. =>

This is one of my favourite deltarune (fan) animation so far, the writing is really incredible! It felt like it was an actual writing made for this game. I'm also so happy to see the characters written so well and aren't OOC (out of character.). I especially love how Susie & Kris comforting Noelle (And susie tells berdly to join them together for a group hug) it's so sweet.

Similar thing happened to me when my grandmother passed away i felt weak cause she was a person along with my parents and siblings i only cared about because everyone else i had passed away and she took care of me the most when my parents are usually gone to work struggling to work just to keep us in housing i can never blame my parents for how much time they sacrificed just for me and my siblings when we were younger to stay out of homelessness and my grandmother helped so much that when she passed away it was way too much for me that i even almost gave up on myself but my father and mother encouraged me to not let this be the end and to keep going because God has something special for me once my life ends and i believed them and i have a better life now thanks to my parents and faith in God.
Yeah, during our hardest moments it’s tough to remember, but there are those out there everyday who look out for us and love us more than anything! Thanks for sharing, I hope you’re doing better now!
