From What I read the the defiant and DFX cam was not very well received. The nitrum prior to that with the ZT cam was much loved and the Helix with ZT pro are my favorite. But I hear good things about the ventum so who ever want to sell their Helix I'll buy it
I may have missed it but I wish you would have shot the 450 grain and 500 grain arrows and given your findings. I jus made up some Axis 300 spine shafts and after its all said and done, Im shooting a piece of rebar!! 522 grains!! We shall see what we see I guess. Excellent review as usual. I like the shorter bows. When I’m crawling around the trees in Utah I hate dragging weapons across the tree branches and junipers. 30 is my size but I do like to see the longer ATA bow specs.
Hi there Mike do you notice any bad cam lean out of the box that needs adjustment? I really like the ventum 33 but I am not a bow tech and to be honest the bow shops near me are so shady they would just slap the rest and sight on tune it a bit so it shoots semi decent and hand the bow to people and say “here have fun”. Does the ventum stay tuned just as well as other binary cam? I do not want to pay premium to be Hoyt lab rat.

All these years the Hoyt carbon guys have been flaming Mathews for 4.6lb bows and now they can purchase their own brand new carbon at 5 to 5.2 lbs. good review you may consider the placement of your D METER it’s prob picking up the arrow noise which is quite louder than the bow.
I have ordered one of the preorder bows from my local shop, and it still hasn’t come in. One of each bow has come in, but not the rest of the pre orders. Does anyone have any intel on when the other preorders will be in? My shop doesn’t know, but I’m wondering if other shops are having the same situation.

Tough call, they both have a great draw cycle. The expedite NXT should give you a little more speed than the Hoyt. You will probably feel a little more drop off at the back end of the cam on the expedite. That will depend a little bit on what let off option you run.
I'm hearing you cannot buy the integrated QAD rest and a front sight that utilizes the picatinny rail unless you buy only from Hoyt and no other front sight is being made from other manufacturers such as Spot Hogg or Black Gold. I hear only Fuse is making a sight that works now. Any truth to that info?
How is the speed of this vs the solution? Same arrow same draw length I have shot both but not through chrono I think the solution might be a sleeper on speed it’s draw is not as smooth as other bowtech models so I’m wondering if it’s for speed
The explanation for the higher speed when compared to the Ventum 30/RX5 lies in the mod setting. Hoyt themselves recommend you shoot one of the longer bows if you are a 28.5/29“ draw as they will have better performance on the #2 mod than on the shorter bows on the #3 mod.
I agree that the top end of a 2 will out perform the bottom end of a 3. Especially on the same bow. That has always been true with a Hoyt. But that does not mean that it should out perform the other bow at the same draw length. I am sure that is a factor but should make the bows basically even not 8-10 FPS faster.
It seems like you maxed out the cam on the bow at 29 inch with the module with maximum 29 inches draw. This is why you get more speed. Put the next module that goes to 31 set it to 29 and there you go you will loose speed and the bow will be slower. It is not magic it is simply the way the cams and the modules are design .

Correct me if I am wrong but this bow it was specially send for the review by the manufacture it was not one of the many that you have for sale. Is this going to be the same later in the version that goes to the consumer I hope yes but normally the consumer product is never the same as the review sample. I do believe the Hoyt makes outstanding product and it is a work of art at least from what I have seen on the high end model. But I don't believe that the consumer sample is the same as the review sample.

We don’t get any special treatment, and unless our reps provide us with their samples, we buy all of the bows we review for resell purpose. I’m not sure if the send “special” bows or not to much larger TH-cam channels, but I assure you we aren’t one of those at this point lol. So the bow in the video is for sale, and was nothing upgraded or special to our knowledge.
From 5.2 to 5.0 lbs is only 3.2 ounces. I don't think the short stop stabilizer and the dampeners on the riser and on the limbs together weigh only 3.2 ounces. Something is not right there. The Ventum 30 lost 0.4 lbs when you took off the same items; it went from 5.0 to 4.6 lbs. So the Ventum 33 should have gone from 5.2 to 4.8, a difference of 0.4 just like the Ventum 30, since you took off the same items.
+Chris Trusty the performance mod is built into the cam and just requires you to flip the mod over and change the draw curve with a harsher draw cycle giving the bow more speed.
Wish bear archery would make a 33 inch now I'm still shooting the first truth love it it's almost 14 yrs old I'm not that far from your area little town called Bartlett what's your pick on a new bear now 31 inch draw 70 pound.
The cams are basically Bowtech clones. They finally made updates that were overdue. Too bad they still have spacers to deal with, but at least it's better than the past.

Sold my halon 32 this year to upgrade. Shot all the new bows, ventum 33 is on order.. really liked it!

You can take the grip off just need to warm it up and can be replaced with side plates

Did you check the actual Draw weight? I just shot a 70lb Ventum 33 that was pulling 75lbs!! At 28.5 draw length it shot a 455 grain arrow at 288.

I just bought a ventum today. The link above has sight for it. Personally I'm not spending 400 $ on a sight like tnat.

The Bear Status EKO is a 33” ATA bow. The new Redemption is 31”. Both are great shooting bows.
I'm between the ventum 33, elite Enkore, nexus 4, and possibly the evo EVL (but I can't get past how slow it seems). Any recommendation?
