Funfact: Oolong actually did wish for panties early on in the Dragonball series. Another funfact: The german version "censored" this as a hat with two holes for his ears... At least they didn't go full 4kids and let the visuals be.
To explain things, Roshi is a very well known martial arts master and taught krillan and Goku when they were children. He also won the world's martial arts tournament making him known as the world's strongest. That's why he went after Roshi. As for Goku, in Dragon ball, he's super innocent as he grew up in the woods with just his grandfather until he met bulma. He did not know what a girl was (or know about differences between boy or girl). He was easily fooled as well. He loves martial arts and always wants to get stronger and meet stronger people, but he was taught well by his grandfather to care about people and even if he doesn't quite understand the urgency of something he tried to do what was right. His love for fighting hurts him in DBZ as he will wait for people to power up instead of finishing them but he is a good and innocent person (to the point he married his wife because she was angry at him, he didn't know why, and agreed to marriage thinking it was a food)
Ya know, Doctor Wheeler wasn't a poor, innocent guy just trying to get a body in the original version. He was completely evil. TeamFourStar's writing and editing is pure gold.
Hope you guys enjoyed it! :) I never watched this movie much (The original not TFS) so this is probably the only time I won't be able to help out on references. I'm sure someone in the comments will tho. :)
If I remember correctly he wished for the panties as a rush wish. He was trying to make a wish before the villains could wish for something horrible and it was the first thing that popped into his head.
If Piccolo and Gohan are your favorites, then you should know that there is a new movie coming out for the official series that is devoted to those two
Also in new canon: Master Roshi possesses eternal life, though he can still die of unnatural circumstances. In the anime, he lives via constantly eating the Paradise Herb. It does not eliminate death via unnatural causes, however, and he must eat it every 1000 years to maintain his eternal life.... It's kinda the healthy food and Tai-Chi the japanese do, like they're 60 but look like 30 ^^ And Roshi is a pervert. Love him. 😆
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Ha! You have no idea :> Check out the top 10 pervert Roshi moments but sure after finishing DBZA th-cam.com/video/JE2uKM7DHLc/w-d-xo.html
Definity Not Definitive# You are spot on with Goku's character because he was always described in the actual show to be pure of heart or having child-like innocence. It also helps that Master Roshi humbled him when he fought against Kid Goku at the World Tournament. Master Roshi's fight was to teach him that there's always someone stronger out there, in which is Goku's mindset to this day.
Lol you describe how actually Goku is but not really a idiot they just trying to show his innocent because he was raised in the woods so he lacks common sense dbz abridged just made it more extreme 😂 glad you guys could see Goku for who he is
Goku’s big flaw is that he might not be power hungry but he is very tight hungry. He has risked the lives of his friends and himself by letting his enemy get stronger simply so he can have a good fight.
At this point, Team Four Star had gone from 'Abridging' Dragon Ball Z to 'comically reworking chunks of the plot entirely' for their comedy. There's a chunk of jokes here that you need to be familiar with the original movie and Dragon Ball itself to get. 1) The Main one, of course: in the original Wheelo was very much an evil scientist who wanted the world's strongest body for his brain, his assistant was also evil, and the bio warriors were all generic living weapons (so no sad scene with Blub Blub). They reworked it so that Kochin was the only evil one dragging Wheelo along for the ride. In the OG film Kochin was also a robot, which is revealed when he falls into the pit after Wheelo reveals his battle form: Wheelo charges up some massive engine and the electrical arcs from it zap Kochin and destroy him. That's how he was able to turn his hand into a gun. 2) The ice at the start is in a DBZ only place in the world where said ice basically noted to be impossibly dense and cold. In the OG Piccolo is training there instead of trying to build a castle and he notes even he can barely crack it. That's why Kochin needed a wish: the ice was just THAT potent and hard to remove. 3) Piccolo freezing is a pure Abridged joke, as in Yamcha showing up, spoofing how the Biomen look a lot like Saibamen. Yamcha did not appear in the original movie at all. And yes, in the OG film Oolong was planning to wish for panties, or 'comfy underwear' depending on the translation. 4) Piccolo's attempted contact via telepathy in the Abridged is just Gohan having a daydream while studying about how much he wants to be like Piccolo. So yes, Piccolo got captured and Gohan got knocked out during it, then he just went home and acted like nothing had happened. 5) Krillin actually fled from Kochin's machine gun fire in the film (which caused big explosions, so maybe it was firing special super bullets). The film just spoofs that by now, even as a 'weaker fighter' mere bullets shouldn't be able to hurt him so he just stands there with them doing nothing, wondering what happened to Launch, a Dragon Ball early years character who used to shoot up the various Goku adjacent fighter characters for laughs in Loony Toons fashion. 6) It was Kaioken x 4 in the film, not 3 and a half. 7) As said, in the film Wheelo was evil and getting blasted into orbit had him start charging a planet killer attack. Goku countered by forming the Spirit Bomb, Wheelo fired a preliminary series of blasts down to stop him, blowing up what was left of his base, and then Gohan, Piccolo, and Krillin flew up to stall him (with Krillin getting Owned again) until Goku recovered and finished the job. In the Abridged, they change it (and even do some original animation, as seen), so just Gohan flies up, talks with Wheelo, and then tells Goku to stop. Goku 'putting the bomb down' was animation from the OG Wheelo trying to blow him up from orbit. 8) And of course the end scene is wholly original to the altered plot of the film.
This movie was always kinda weird yet wholesome. I don't know how to explain it, it was just an... Unusual movie. Hopefully between these two films you have a better idea of why Goku's the top dog amongst the heroes, since the second half of the Vegeta fight had him out of commission. In terms of minor villain takedowns, Piccolo has one KO from Dead Zone while Goku has five. As for Goku's personality, that's kind of hard to explain. If you recall from the Death Battle featuring him, Goku kind of got rewritten for western audiences. He is more of a traditional contest-hungry fighter who seeks to break is own limits in the original series, but once it got an English translation he was deemed unfit for the hero role. So, they kinda tweaked his dialogue and messed with his persona a bit, making him more of a classic comic book superhero while putting more focus on his airheaded aspects. It's hard to explain, I'm sure someone summed it up in a video somewhere. Definitely call it here on movies if you can though, since the next movie is going to reference an event halfway into Season 2 for a punchline. So... I guess from here it's Kai 1 and Bardock? You might be able to do both in one vid simply because, by design, the Kai episodes are incredibly short. They're based on a joke from YuGiOh Abridged where LittleKuriboh abridged a season of his abridged series... A ton of work and high-speed humor all for the joke of abridging something that is already abridged. Content creators on TH-cam are built different. Speaking of, still having a blast seeing your reactions to stuff and hopefully you are having a blast watching it. Is there anything else aside from Kai 1 and Bardock, or are we heading into Season 2 after them? In terms of canon material I can't really think of much else. Don't know if other comments have mentioned it but do be careful about the Bardock special, because there are two specials and they have very similar names. One is meant for now, the other is meant for after Season 2 concludes.
# 001 Yeah Clark was more boy scout oriented whereas Goku is more simple-minded. With Goku you either need to become real strong on his level and fight him and/or cook for him and he becomes your friend immediately. If going for the strength route, you may want to be like Vegeta and train hard to keep up with him. You could argue that Goku and Beerus are pretty much alike in a way, just without the Superiority Complex that Beerus has.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 I'll take a peek ahead and comment on next week's reaction on the episode timing for the Christmas special. If I recall correctly it'll be the last movie until after Season 2 concludes entirely.
I would say in some ways that the Goku from the official release is still pretty similar. Team4Star definitely cranks personality traits up to 11, or reworks them in some cases though. They make it obvious that Goku isn't exactly the best parent in the world, though arguably neither is Chi-Chi.
X.A.N.A. from Code Lyoko (who I have as a pic) actually made it/his own Death Spheres but worst thing is they were made on the I.S.S. so no easy way out and can melt metal walls to go through.
TFS come up with a complete alternative story to Dr. Wheelo here, and I think that's really good. It's not that often that the Dragon Balls are used for something really meaningful in the original... because death doesn't stick in this universe. Well with small exceptions. When you're done with DBZA, we'll tell you about the end of Dragon Ball GT, which I still think is one of the best ending the franchise have, even if the series itself wasn't good. (So non-canon that it hurts)
It’s either his life, or it begins to wear down his body extremely after that. Some sources online state that Goku uses Kaioken x20 on Namek, but I don’t know if that’s just the American dubbed anime, or if it’s even a thing at all. Either way, it’s supposed to NOT be something you constantly use lol
Within this series and also in the original, Goku is actually very sweet. (by the way just like Mr. Popo ;) ) He just does not think so much about what he does. In the original Dragonball series Goku once fought against a "Devilman" with the ability to let the "evil" of each being inherent to grow physically until you burst, but there was no evil in Goku at all, so he won ^^ He did not even know what a girl is until Teen Bulma has shot him in the face ;) Yep Goku's very first "opponent" was Bulma, so to speak ^^
Goku in the original Japanese version was just a goofy man-child who likes to fight strong people and doesn't like when people are being hurt. He really is a nice guy and how he often encountered villains in early Dragon Ball was he would wander the world hearing about how some strong person who was terrorizing the locals.
You really hit something when talking about Goku's character. The series Creator, Toriyama, didn't want Goku to be a traditional hero but every suit on both sides of the ocean has tried to turn him into exactly that. If what I've heard is true the reason why one of the later story arcs introduces a new villain one after another is because his editor at the time was crapping on everything Toriyama was coming up with and was ordered to make a "better" villain each time.
11:10 18, Caulifla, and Kale all beg to differ. 19:20 In the words of George Takei, “Oh my~!” Have we just discovered a kink? 22:41-23:00 Not enough people give Wheelo’s snapped patience speech credit. The way it’s delivered, you can definitely tell he’s had enough B.S. It’s actually quite menacing, if you think about it, and that’s before you see his exo-body.
The thing is with the luxury pie what's the power it's a trait that comes from his saying grace because of them being a conquering species. Which is kind of beautiful thing about goku because he was exiled from his To the planet after they basically suffered the wrath of their tyrant. And she's able to move on and make something better out of a race of people who might not be the nicest or civil. Like his relationship with A lot of his early opponents. From piccolo Krillin yamcha vegeta. They all gained respect from dualing in combat. With goku's pacism With the Primal urge to look and gain power. He still uses it in a way that benefits not only the people he cares about but even his enemies.
Goku in dbza is definitely a bit more kid goku in an adult body. Like Goku from the original dragonball. In the original, he is just a kid who never knew his parents, was raised by an old man who called him his grandpa, which is fair. He raises him at least partially. And then died suddenly, leaving behind the 4 star dragonball behind that Kickstart his whole adventures meeting the rest of the gang along the way, having goku just taking in everything with a childlike innocence that he never grows out of, and taking ev E typing he encounters as a fun test of his abilities, capping off each adventure with a martial arts tournament. I highly recommend checking it out.
This movie doesn’t really fit in any time period for the show because Goku has the Kaioken and spirit bomb, but that is after Piccolo died to Nappa. But it’s also before they went to Namek for reasons I won’t spoil
Goku is goofy, nice, likable but he’s also really selfish about fighting strong people and would rather train than be with his family. Once he unlocks super saiyan he gets a more aggressive personality.
As much as much as i love these Dragon Ball reaction videos of yours please also do more SCP reaction videos as well i love those as well. Other than that a great reaction/video keep up the great work👍 And greetings from the Netherlands🇳🇱
Watching dragonballz the original english dub both series and movies is a right of passage. Watching dragonball kai in japanese which is essentially a no fillers dragonball is a much more concise and better flowing story but theres a charm to the original thats unique for sure. The parody pulls strongly from the Japanese portrayal of characters though cause its pretty different in the dubs.
Just to be clear the turtle is kind of like Oolong in that he's a talking animal (The part about "Wanting the money" for drugs is made up). The Turtle is actually 1,000 years old in the anime. The turtle is kind of a side character who is innocent so of course it's hilarious to look at him like a drug dealer lol. Although if you are interested in the official Goku I'd just start with Dragon Ball Z Kai...the voice acting is better and it's over all a pretty fun watch. Whatever you do though DON'T start with Dragon Ball Super.
Unfortunately they stop doing a bridge after the cell saga ( with sum original animation spin-off) . After that, y'all wanna "re-start " the series and it's original form? Starting with OG dragon Ball of course. Given that where all the grown of Goku and the lore shine the most. Cuz, fans of the z portion of most likely fans of Gohan, piccolo,Vegeta or any other villains in there (maybe krillen).
This is not the best way to be introduced to the dragon ball world in my opinion. Although it is entertaining to dbz fans as a parody, newer viewers can get easily lost on the quick references and lack of story and character connections, and the amazing fight scenes.. I hope you guys get to check out the original which is what made this show such a timeless treasure. 😁🙏
eventhough this is abridged what true is goku is a idiot lets be honest like super powerful ya but his power is balanced by the super carefree/careless mentality

I can’t wait for y’all to see “Cooler’s Revenge” and “Android 13”, those were my favorite of the Abridged movies
Looking forward to it 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 the movies don't fit in the series timeline for the most part...their what if aternate realities where certain events still happened but not the same way so characters will have some memories of the series and sometimes be alive when they should be dead timeline wise...both in abridged and the actual series...for example by movie 2 this one that you watched....goku knows kaioken somehow and spirit bomb moves he learned fromgod aka king kai while he waa dead just for the saiyan invasion attack yet pikkoro is still alive? Hu?...pikkoro died in that saga before goku made it to the battle....why is he in this movie at all? He's dead...and goku should be in the hospital cause they don't have any senzu beans right now...and gohan kururin and blooma should be in space right now
Funfact: Oolong actually did wish for panties early on in the Dragonball series.
Another funfact: The german version "censored" this as a hat with two holes for his ears... At least they didn't go full 4kids and let the visuals be.
Thanks for sharing those fun facts 😀
Is always fun to see you 2 reacting. Lol best reaction channel ive seen in a while
To explain things, Roshi is a very well known martial arts master and taught krillan and Goku when they were children.
If Piccolo and Gohan are your favorites, then you should know that there is a new movie coming out for the official series that is devoted to those two
No way! 😀 Maybe that will be our first official dragon ball movie to watch 😊
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 react to it on the channel! We’d love to see the reaction! It’s a great movie!
Goku is a himbo 😂
Also in new canon: Master Roshi possesses eternal life, though he can still die of unnatural circumstances. In the anime, he lives via constantly eating the Paradise Herb. It does not eliminate death via unnatural causes, however, and he must eat it every 1000 years to maintain his eternal life.... It's kinda the healthy food and Tai-Chi the japanese do, like they're 60 but look like 30 ^^
And Roshi is a pervert. Love him. 😆
Haha yeah pervert Roshi is hilarious
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2
Ha! You have no idea :> Check out the top 10 pervert Roshi moments but sure after finishing DBZA
th-cam.com/video/JE2uKM7DHLc/w-d-xo.html
To be completely fair to Gohan regarding his little nerd-off with Kochin, I'm pretty sure penicillin has saved more lives than atom bombs have ended.
@17:05 So dark and cold… ooooohhh…..oooohh, ooooh, oooooh 😢 🤣
"Same thing we do every dragon ball movie..."
I don't know why but i hope Bethany uses her "Way to Gohan" phrase soon.
In the beginning of the movie, they made a reference towards, Dr slump and you guys didn't know and it's totally fine.
I know nothing about dragon ball but it's really cool fans made this , fans of anything always seem to amaze
Lol you describe how actually Goku is but not really a idiot they just trying to show his innocent because he was raised in the woods so he lacks common sense dbz abridged just made it more extreme 😂 glad you guys could see Goku for who he is
Gotta love some DBZ abridged.
Goku’s big flaw is that he might not be power hungry but he is very tight hungry. He has risked the lives of his friends and himself by letting his enemy get stronger simply so he can have a good fight.
How long both of you been on TH-cam for?
Next up is Kai, 11 and 12. Then Bardock special. Then 13 and so on. At some point I think Christmas special comes in maybe after episode 17 🤔
Goku's Kaioken is like a limitless multiplier on his power. He can go x10 and above but it like drains his life i believe.
Popo ;) )
He just does not think so much about what he does.
In the original Dragonball series Goku once fought against a "Devilman" with the ability to let the "evil" of each being inherent to grow physically until you burst, but there was no evil in Goku at all, so he won ^^
He did not even know what a girl is until Teen Bulma has shot him in the face ;)
Yep Goku's very first "opponent" was Bulma, so to speak ^^
My granny had this and it’s like the only one that has kaioken in it
Goku black vs reverse flash death battle
Goku in the original Japanese version was just a goofy man-child who likes to fight strong people and doesn't like when people are being hurt. He really is a nice guy and how he often encountered villains in early Dragon Ball was he would wander the world hearing about how some strong person who was terrorizing the locals.
5:46 dramatic finish
You really hit something when talking about Goku's character. The series Creator, Toriyama, didn't want Goku to be a traditional hero but every suit on both sides of the ocean has tried to turn him into exactly that. If what I've heard is true the reason why one of the later story arcs introduces a new villain one after another is because his editor at the time was crapping on everything Toriyama was coming up with and was ordered to make a "better" villain each time.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing that story 🙂
Dodge!!!
..Have this as a shirt 😆
I know the dodge thing seems cruel but it works. Nobody likes getting hit evetyday dodge/block mofo
That wineglass is kino. Where can I get one?
I think it was off of wayfair 🤔
"...then died suddenly"? That's a fun way of saying that Goku accidently turns giant ape and kills him
I like how powerful Goku is in this movie. Truly was the strongest on earth at the time.
I will say this:
Do not watch the movie Lord Slug just yet until AFTER season 2. Trust me, you both will get it. Peace! ✌😁
Thanks for this reaction.
You two should go see a dragon ball movie in theaters, it’s a totally different experience sitting in a theater with other dragon ball fans
21:39 lol
I think Roshi calls what he's baking (and getting baked with), "The Roshi". Turtle thinks they are there to buy the marijuana products
Other than that a great reaction/video keep up the great work👍
And greetings from the Netherlands🇳🇱
Watching dragonballz the original english dub both series and movies is a right of passage. Watching dragonball kai in japanese which is essentially a no fillers dragonball is a much more concise and better flowing story but theres a charm to the original thats unique for sure. The parody pulls strongly from the Japanese portrayal of characters though cause its pretty different in the dubs.
Don't worry, Yamcha survived this time... barely
I may be wrong, but I don’t think Goku unlocked super saiyan yet. He was using a technique taught by king Kai. (I think) called Kaioken.
No Krillin Owned counter in the movies.
Most likely because the movies are not canon to the main timeline.
yet they worked hard it make them fit with with their show
When you get a chance react to dragonball super movies battle of God's, resurrection f, brilliant and super hero
A-KAME-AND-A-HAME-AND-A-SEND-HIM-HOME-TO-MOMMY
😁😄😆😂🤣
20:25 Wait why does he know that 🤣🤣🤣
Just to be clear the turtle is kind of like Oolong in that he's a talking animal (The part about "Wanting the money" for drugs is made up).
I recommend you guys to react to "Legend: Dragon Ball Tale" on TH-cam it's fan made short film that is worth checking up!
Uh yeah, catched me by surprise.. it was incredibly good.
22:30
Which is Todayyy😁😁
You'd love Goku even more if you watch the real show since the beginning when Goku was a child
You should watch sao abridged it’s pretty funny and a good anime to watch
Unfortunately they stop doing a bridge after the cell saga ( with sum original animation spin-off) . After that, y'all wanna "re-start " the series and it's original form? Starting with OG dragon Ball of course. Given that where all the grown of Goku and the lore shine the most. Cuz, fans of the z portion of most likely fans of Gohan, piccolo,Vegeta or any other villains in there (maybe krillen).
Can y'all react to Dragon Ball Z Abridged Tree Of Might?
We will but believe that is later on 🙂
This is not the best way to be introduced to the dragon ball world in my opinion. Although it is entertaining to dbz fans as a parody, newer viewers can get easily lost on the quick references and lack of story and character connections, and the amazing fight scenes.. I hope you guys get to check out the original which is what made this show such a timeless treasure. 😁🙏
This is why you need context to actual db....this is a wtf if you never seen og db and dbz
Heads up do not watch lord slug until you finish episode 26!!!!
eventhough this is abridged what true is goku is a idiot lets be honest like super powerful ya but his power is balanced by the super carefree/careless mentality
Glad that part is actually true haha 🙂
Hi
If you can reacting to trailer mortal kombat snow blind cartoon that's will be cool
My English not so good sorry❤️
It's too bad, that you guys don't know some settle references, when it comes to the abridged of dragon Ball z.
Goku actually doesn't have a Saiyan form yet, the Kaioken is just something he learned from his training with King Kai (the blue man on the small planet with the monkey). You'll see his saiyan forms soon enough though
