Android 13 to Trunks-“Don’t you lecture me with your $30 haircut” it the best line from this movie and the fact that it was from the actual movie and not abridged
Fun fact tfs once mentioned on a charity stream that all of Android 14s static noises can actually be converted into an images with the proper program. Like when he said " jet fuel can't melt steel beams" it'll show a picture of George W bush.
Cool Detail: The voiceover talking about how robots are technically not alive is done by Chris Sabat who voices multiple people in the English dub of actual DBZ, notably Vegeta, Piccolo and Yamcha
"For thousands of years, I lay dormant", those two should never change. Hilarious Fun fact: The voice actor for Older Gohan(that we see after Goku gets his Shenron Summoners destroyed) is also the VA for Izuku, the main character in the popular anime My Hero Academia
So a note for you guys: the scene where older Gohan was training a kid and that kid just kind of phases away? Thats Goten, and is Goku's other child in the future. The abridged series stops before you see much of Goten, which is sad because him and his best friend, Trunks, are a treat.
This movie has a few deep cut jokes i love. "You think Master Roshi is my real name?" His name Muten Roshi, roughly translates to 'Invincible old Master' so... yeah... its a title... "Your jacket is weighing you down!" On the one hand, lol silly good. On the other he grew up where clothes waving upwards of 100 pounds was the norm.
100 kilograms (aprox 220 pounds) was what Picolo's outfit weighs, so presumably that's the actual norm, also Trunk's jacket is not weighted due to the fact that it was Bulma's jacket before she gave it to him just before he used the time machine the first time, but yes, it's still a funny joke
To answer your question about why they don't just stay in super saiyan; it is incredibly demanding to maintain the form for extended periods. It takes a lot of energy and stamina just to transform let alone stay in the form while fighting. Obviously the running joke with dbza is that they keep forgetting they can use the form which is why they don't do it straight away.
And that is how Goten phased out of the timeline for a few hours. Small side note: this takes place in a different timeline where they did beat the androids.
Funny thing about the end scene with Piccolo and Vegeta is that it's in the original, and it's just as funny. Piccolo: "Is it over?" Vegeta: "Not 'till the fish jumps" *fish jumps* Vegeta: "It's over"
Fun fact: 7:41 is in reference to Snakes on a Plane, specifically the incredibly awkward and hillarious censorship they inflicted on poor Samuel Jackson lol
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 When they played it on network TV, they dubbed him to say "I've had it with these monkey fighting snakes on this Monday-to-Friday plane." Which was one of the most nonsensical dubs in history.
For those not keeping track, this marks yet ANOTHER Doctor Who reference with Trunks. Previously we see his time machine makes the same sound the Tardis makes. The credits to History of Trunks are a full reference to the opening credits of Doctor Who, and here right before he tries attacking Super 13, the music track is ‘I am the Doctor’ which was kind if the 11th Doctor’s theme.
On a related note, Ken kinda puts me in mind of Sylvester McCoy when he played the Seventh Doctor. (Apologies to Ken if he looks up McCoy and finds him plug ugly, my mom once told me a story where that happened to her when people compared her to Bette Davis)
This was a fun reaction 😄. I'm excited to see you guys enjoy the rest of the cell saga!! Also I'm pretty sure one of the narrators that spoke in that southern accent was Chris Sabat, the English dub voice actor for Vegeta, Piccolo and Yamcha. He's known to be a fan of the abridged series and has made special voice cameos in the previous DBZA specials.
Yeah it was the last one, he’s actually done a voice before for TFS, wayyyy back in early TFS, I think it was the original Bardock special, he is listed as DJSexidillionaire when he voices in TFS
The one that disappeared was Goten, Goku’s second kid. That was a clip of Gohan and Goten training for a martial arts tournament many years later as Gohan is like 16-18 or so.
They never really mention this in DBZA, but maintaining Super Saiyan requires quite a bit of energy and stamina for that sweet 50 times increase in strength, speed and beam blast power over their normal state.
The dog treat was so unexpected for me. I don't think I stopped laughing for about ten minutes, I legit needed to pause to get myself under control. Glad to see you guys found it nearly as funny.
"Why aren't they always in that form?", Try and flex _everything, at all times._ Also, in retrospect, Super feels atleast somewhat referential of DBZA. 15:31 That's grown up Gohan and Goten (Goku's second child. He is 7 years old in that scene.). They were training for the world martial arts tournament. I assume I don't have to explain the joke itself.
12:02 The reason they’re not always in the form is because the Super Saiyan form slowly drains the user’s stamina over time while it’s active. Also, the little kid you saw with a much older Gohan is Goten, Goku’s second and youngest son. He’s born sometime between the Cell and Majin Buu arcs, and is best friends with Trunks. Trunks as a kid, not the adult one from the future.

One of the best videos on TH-cam, period! They REALLY knocked it out the park with Android 13, 14 & 15, Vegeta & Piccolo's introductions, Master Roshi's "real name", the destruction of Goku's balls etc.. GOAT'ed parody!
That jump forward is from after the current arc of the show that, due to a multitude of reasons, TFS never got around to abridging. That's Gohan in blue dressed like Piccolo, and his little brother Gohan. In the original show that's a training exercise Piccolo taught Gohan to learn to dodge with instinct. I wish they'd have made the 4th season, but alas, it seemingly shall never be.
12:00 The reason they're not always in Super Saiyan form is because it takes energy and stamina just to turn it on and maintain it, even if you're doing nothing.
The Super Sayian forms are highly energy intensive and cannot be kept up indefinitively. Although the stronger you get, the longer you can maintain those forms. This is why when Vegeta, or Goku gets beat up bad enough, they have a tendency to come out of their Super forms and back to base. Helps them recover faster. But you'll learn more about how these forms work in more detail pretty soon actually. :)
Others have said this, but what I like most is that you wait till the end to give us your thoughts instead of talking over the show. It's very refreshing because most don't.
For all the newcomers of dragon ball. The Super Saiyan form takes up massive stamina and energy, so that is why they do not stay in that form. It's the same way a lot of UFC fighters fight, just testing your opponents strength and seeing if you'll be forced to use 100% of your power and skills.
Piccolo's continued appearances in almost every Dragon ball movie is awesome. Definitely shows you why he's one of Akira's fave characters. A true ride or die homie don't need to win the fight,he just needs to show up every time some action is about to start.
fun fact: the song that plays when trunks tells 13 that he's a time traveler is called "next stop, everywhere", the theme of the 11th doctor in the series "doctor who". it fits because the doctor is a time traveler. :D
Funfact - Master Roshi, known in Japan as Kame Sennin (lit. "Turtle Sage") but his real name is never mentioned. Well, it could be "Jackie Chun" The Jackie Chun alias is an obvious reference to Jackie Chan, but there's a little more to it. In the anime, Master Roshi used the name and associated persona to fight in the World Martial Arts Tournament against Goku and Krillin. This seems odd at first, as he has no apparent reason to hide his identity, especially not from his own students. However, there's a reason for this roundabout method of competing, and it's a rather important one. P.S. 9:20 min Bethany's "fan-girling" abour Vegeta is freaking adorable 😘
That fish jumping dialogue at the end was actually a thing in the actual movie, but the fish jumps like a second or two after vegeta makes that statement while in this abridged version it leads to an awkward dialogue. 😂
Fun fact, the narrator near the end of the movie is Chris Sabbath, the voice of Vegeta among many others from the original show. Though they can't make him directly, legal issues, they don't necessarily hide it either.
There’s a couple things to talk about for this movie. The sounds that equates to android 14’s speech are actually images. Originally TFS was going to have people translate the sound into the images themselves, but they decided to caption them for ease of humor. There’s some obvious Star Wars references, and some subtle ones. Such as the transition between scenes early on and the background sound of the Mall scene are very similar to that of A New Hope. And inside the mall, it’s playing a cover of Disturbed’s “Down with the Sickness”.
The actual canon reason why they dont always stay in super saiyan is cuz it gets you faster and stronger but burns through energy reserves faster. The actual entertainment reason is because goku and the others need to get their ass beat at first 🤣
At the end, when you brought up the Goku nut-punch, you thought they "gave him" a high-pitched voice? Oddly, that _wasn't_ done through editing! Lawrence / MasakoX really _can_ go that high on-command. Also, that little comment made at 12:00 ? Hopefully, at a later date, you'll remember you said this.
12:03 To answer your question, Super Saiyan while being a great power up comes with its drawbacks. One of them is that it's a real energy drainer, it takes quite a bit of power to even just transform into it even more so to maintain it. That's why they always power down after the fight because they're either tired or just don't want to waste any unnecessary energy.
One thing you will notice in this is when they are scanning Goku they scan over his pelvis and it says "Potential Weak Point". Monday to Friday timeline. Is a reference to the Snakes on a Plane movie where the PG version changed one of his speeches. The Android 15 drinking a little bit longer with the finger up is an Archer reference. Where he does the same thing. Gotta love the Dog Biscuit part can't help but cheer & laugh when that came back.
Fun fact: Vegeta actually decapitates three different opponents in DBZ: Guldo, Android 19, and Android 15 here. Kaiserneko, the editor and one of the leading members of Teamfourstar, was surprised that they got to use the dog treat joke so often because of this. Also worth noting, the dog treat joke here is fan animated. Around this point in DBZA, the group had several mutual friends who could animate, and so they started adding in a bunch of fan animated stuff at various points. The World's Strongest movie actually came out after this one, and features the largest-scale fan animation, which is the entire ending section where they gave Dr. Wheelo a new body from the dragon. Most of the other fan animated stuff is much smaller scale than that, but still noticeable as it tends to look cleaner visually compared to the older animation.
As others have probably pointed out, they don't stay in Super Saiyan for longer than they have to because it's incredibly exhausting and difficult to maintain - the characters themselves raise this as a problem and are interested in fixing it. The ins-and-outs of experimenting with and trying to improve on the form is something the tfs version has to (somewhat) skip over, but it is something that's happening in the background and I'm sure the comments will clarify any missing stuff.
@@krbchris26 Huh, that is *so weird* - I thought it had multiple english translations including both, but now that I look I can't find any references to the first. Guess it's a mandela effect thing for me? I could have sworn I'd heard "TH Deathbomb" being mentioned in a game or something.
Fun Fact: The reason why Goku and Vegeta are married to Chi Chi and Bulma is because their Saiyans. Saiyans love strong women they like their feistiness so if you were curious on why they married them
Just a quick correction: Goku is not powering up the energy ball, he's collecting a small amount of energy from every living organism, that is why it takes so long, and that is why he gets stronger than average Goku when he absorbs it. The technique is called Henki Dama.
This movie is like 100% fighting which made it hard to adapt to a parody for Team FourStar (and why the next movie is the last one they will adapt, can't wait though, it's a classic) so I like how the whole movie is making fun of the obvious formula, all the heroes are getting their asses beaten at first, remember they have power-ups and actually start trying, Vegeta and OR Piccolo in the pre-Vegeta days must make a grand entrance (if it's Piccolo he must save Gohan while doing so), the villain gets a giga power-up and DECIMATES the poor side-characters in hilarious fashion, the side characters eventually enough of getting their ass whooped and beg Goku to just 1v1 the main baddy and use the power of plot to make the torment stop at some point, Goku pulls a win from his ass, the end lol.
I wonder what would happen if they ever sat down and thought about how the androids number up to 20 (well, 21 but she wasn't a thing yet when these episodes and movies were made) so that must mean there's 20 androids/cyborgs/robots. The first one we see is way back in the original Dragon Ball, Mr Eighter. He's a big bulky guy who resembles Frankenstein's Monster, but contrary to his programming he has a gentle soul, and after the fall of the Red Ribbon Army, he ends up getting adopted by an old man in a nearby village.
The best part of this was they made what was basically MOAR ANDROIDS AGAIN into a gigantic fanservice callback. While it has to follow the movie kind of close, the dialog here hits both context and meta really damn hard; this is one of their best off canon side story efforts for sure.
"Sweet, mind If I take a spin?" "Thanks, I was practicing that one under the ice for the last- you know what, never mind" "You know, it feels like BOTH of those things when you end it with the world "boy" " "I feel like we should be stopping this" Man Piccolo is like the best character in terms of quotes
The thing where the small boy Vanished: That was a szene from a later story arc, Gohan and his little Brother who's yet to be concieved, trying to train. Thx to the dick punch, Goten vanishes because Goku is basically sterile now xD
A little bit of DB trivia: Last episode TFS worked in how #16 is made to look like Dr. Gero's late son. If you remember your reactions to the fighting game and Android #21 (large red hair+lab coat/"Fat Kirby" lady are both her), she was made to look like Gero's late wife. While not confirmed(?), many people now believe Android #13 is what a younger Gero looked like. (Let's be honest, he probably wasn't that ripped... and *probably* not Southern)
I think the part that hurt when Goku got punched between the legs, was that you saw a pair of orbs actually breaking in the impact. Whereas with Vegeta it was implied and even outright stated that he was kicked there, nobody really saw the damage unlike with Goku.
That last scene with Piccolo and Vegeta was actually just extended of the original ending. It started the same, "is it over?", "not til the fish jumps". then it's just silence for a few seconds before it jumps, then "It's Over". XD

Piccolo's continued appearances in almost every Dragon ball movie is awesome. Definitely shows you why he's one of Akira's fave characters.
A true ride or die homie don't need to win the fight,he just needs to show up every time some action is about to start.
😎🤟
Fun fact: the whole trucker hat gag is in the actual movie.
fun fact: the song that plays when trunks tells 13 that he's a time traveler is called "next stop, everywhere", the theme of the 11th doctor in the series "doctor who". it fits because the doctor is a time traveler. :D
Nice! A DBZA reaction I'd tip my hat to you... BUT I LOST IT!! Lol!
In the actual movie, the ost playing when they all go super saiyan is awesome. Mark Menza's ssj theme btw
“You plum done gone daggone did it now son” is brilliant and I will hear no slander
As a dragon ball fan I can confirm that 13 indeed punches goku right on the dragon balls. The scene with goten and Gohan were from the buu saga.
A little late, but the violin song at the end was done by MasakoX. He plays Goku and Gohan, he’s a very multi-talented person.
Impressive 🤩
Funfact -
Master Roshi, known in Japan as Kame Sennin (lit.
Thanks for sharing that info about Master Roshi and his real name 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 This MIGHT be his real name. This is just a theory.
There are depictions of young Roshi, which, to me, looks really similar to Jackie Chan. Makes me believe it could not be a coincidence
"Aw you do care" That was really cute and true 💖
That fish jumping dialogue at the end was actually a thing in the actual movie, but the fish jumps like a second or two after vegeta makes that statement while in this abridged version it leads to an awkward dialogue. 😂
This, for me, is their best Movie !
"Look at my Trucker Hat !"
The characters in that bit with the kid who fades away are Gohan and his little brother Goten, who at this point in the series hasn't been "made" yet.
I just love all the Doctor Who reference that Trunks throw at this show 💕
A classic show we’ve never seen 🤗
The actual canon reason why they dont always stay in super saiyan is cuz it gets you faster and stronger but burns through energy reserves faster. The actual entertainment reason is because goku and the others need to get their ass beat at first 🤣
At the end, when you brought up the Goku nut-punch, you thought they "gave him" a high-pitched voice?
Oddly, that _wasn't_ done through editing! Lawrence / MasakoX really _can_ go that high on-command.
Also, that little comment made at 12:00 ? Hopefully, at a later date, you'll remember you said this.
The dog treat being thrown at 15 is still the funniest moment in this whole parody for me
12:03 To answer your question, Super Saiyan while being a great power up comes with its drawbacks.
The reason they aren't always in Super Saiyan is because it consumes energy. Especially at this point in the series.
Thanks for sharing those fun facts with us 😀
As others have probably pointed out, they don't stay in Super Saiyan for longer than they have to because it's incredibly exhausting and difficult to maintain - the characters themselves raise this as a problem and are interested in fixing it. The ins-and-outs of experimenting with and trying to improve on the form is something the tfs version has to (somewhat) skip over, but it is something that's happening in the background and I'm sure the comments will clarify any missing stuff.
The attack is called the S.S. Deadly Bomber, not the TH Deathbomb
@@krbchris26 Huh, that is *so weird* - I thought it had multiple english translations including both, but now that I look I can't find any references to the first. Guess it's a mandela effect thing for me? I could have sworn I'd heard "TH Deathbomb" being mentioned in a game or something.
4:03 Savage Truthbom....ber...
too precious for this world
3:22 *sees purple dwarf in a suit and automatically assumes he's a pimp*
15: Racist as shit
Life is a better comedian than any of us
Fun Fact: The reason why Goku and Vegeta are married to Chi Chi and Bulma is because their Saiyans. Saiyans love strong women they like their feistiness so if you were curious on why they married them
Vegeta got more dog biscuits than Goku has muffins! 😂
😂
When you grab a bull by the horns some times he'll take you for a ride lol 😆
And when you suplex a robot, you... um...
@@patbracken aw what the hell am I doin
"Sweet, mind If I take a spin?"
"Thanks, I was practicing that one under the ice for the last- you know what, never mind"
"You know, it feels like BOTH of those things when you end it with the world "boy" "
"I feel like we should be stopping this"
Man Piccolo is like the best character in terms of quotes
The thing where the small boy Vanished:
That was a szene from a later story arc, Gohan and his little Brother who's yet to be concieved, trying to train. Thx to the dick punch, Goten vanishes because Goku is basically sterile now xD
9:16 Ken and Bethany lit up like an 8 year old kid getting a Nintendo 64 for Christmas.
A little bit of DB trivia:
Last episode TFS worked in how #16 is made to look like Dr.
Gohan abandoned his mother, just to see his father
I like the fact the most of these DBZ movies are basically What-if Scenerios :)
I think the part that hurt when Goku got punched between the legs, was that you saw a pair of orbs actually breaking in the impact. Whereas with Vegeta it was implied and even outright stated that he was kicked there, nobody really saw the damage unlike with Goku.
20:58 that’s a banjo version Cha-la head Cha-la. The opening song for Dragon Ball Z in Japan
You two lit up like kids in a candy store when vegeta showed up
That shot with Goku’s balls breaking like eggs is ACTUALLY IN THE MOVIE! Not for as long, but it’s still funny if you notice it
That last scene with Piccolo and Vegeta was actually just extended of the original ending. It started the same, "is it over?", "not til the fish jumps". then it's just silence for a few seconds before it jumps, then "It's Over". XD
Soon
Vegeta: Oh my god he's so cool!
Seeing your reactions to this movie was truly fun, especially when Vegeta steps in and Goku making the Spirit Bomb. Well worth the wait! 🤣🤣
11:40
Hilarious coincidence on Ken’s part. The Japanese title of this movie is literally “Three Super Saiyans”.
What I love about this is that it is my head cannon that Vegeta has dog treats/biscuits with him at all times
10:55
Trunks continuing the Saiyan royal tradition of being repeatedly head-butted by a mid-level enemy with a long braid.
