What an awesome dude. I'd love to have a beer with this guy!
The man is obviously brilliant.. as much as he tries to downplay it all, its clear listening to him talk, the parts he writes, and his approach to the kit- he's one of the greats, without a doubt!

When I saw Tool being mentioned.. I was looking forward to hearing the impact the band had on them.. my first Tool concert was in 2002.. Meshuggah opened.. first Meshuggah song I fell in love with was Rational Gaze ..

I saw them on that tour, arena-style. Nothing made me happier (good pun) than hearing the entire place cheering after Future Breed Machine’s big, post-solo pummeling part.
Mesh won a lot of fans on that tour, and Tool gave them that big beach ball right over home plate to crush. Good times.

Such an amazing person. I grew up just outside Umeå, and went to uni with his then-gf in -94. She invited the class to a party and Tomas was at home, showing his place-built terrarium/bookshelves that he'd made, and he had this wall plastered with cracked cymbals in one room (where a giant Iguana lived!). I think it was an inside joke, because he was INSANELY hard hitting back in those days, and everyone was afraid to let him lend or even try out a cymbal.

That SHOCKED me :(. I always thought their music and lyrics were profoundly about actual "forward thinking". Again if you are just _listening_ to those that are a part of "Transfixion", you are missing those that are NOT part of the MSM; the many indie-journalists and vloggers of all ages, backgrounds and even party affiliation that clearly show what is on "Video" or written about with receipts. They are not even hiding it any-longer, yet want to Censor those that don't follow the hive and question them.
Someone has been feeding Tomas (possibly the band) one-sided info, and not being open to question it and look for himself (especially keeping the people you vote for accountable). For me, that was what I thought Meshuggah's lyrics were all about. Orange Man Bad isn't the President currently, and EVERYONE is feeling the lunacy of King Potato. Even _their_ constituents, though most won't say it outloud.
