    It would also be best to check weather more thoroughly because even though night usually feels a smoother flight, you may not be able to see cumulus buildup in front of you if there is no light. Another concern is you will not be able to see a layer of cloud that may sneak under you for any precipitation that might be occurring. This is especially concerning if it is during the winter and there is a chance that the precipitation can cause ice.

      A trick: you can watch series on flixzone. Been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.

    When pointing to areas on the approach plate, it help us if you use a larger cursor or an arrow.

    Question: Most approach lighting is visible only from the approach end (REIL, threshold, etc.). Instructors teach students to start a descent to landing on the downwind leg opposite the landing point. If threshold lights are not visible from the side, how does the night-flying pilot identify the landing point from the pattern?

      You can definitely see the runway lights from anywhere in the pattern (centerline or the lights on either side). You can easily estimate where abeam the numbers is, by seeing where these runway lights stop. You don’t need to see the threshold, REIL etc. until you’re lined up on final and short final.

    Can VFR flight plans be used as a navigation guide? I would say no because you can't see land marks

    i never understood why they reversed the colors, all our life's we are taught that Red is right and Green is left but in flight and boating they are reversed why is this?

      I always heard the phrase "red right returning" used in boating. That means the opposite. Red is on the left wing of the aircraft, on the left of the runway and the right side of an aircraft coming AT you.

      What life did they say right on red? Marine & aircraft are the same standard since the beginning, what industry are you referring to?

      For some reason back then my brain said red is right and green is left... It's just there for some reason, but I've gotten used to it

      @@lordcraycray2921 that phrase is for boats and ships looking at the red/green buoy markers in channels.
      When the red buoy is on the right (starboard) side of your vessel, you are heading inland (returning).

    Can you tell the difference for VFR flight planning on MEP ? Is it the same? What about congested areas. It just gives you the insurance that in case of 1 engine failure you are able to glide outside of city border and safety requirements could be met? Just don't understand how it works, but i prefer to fly on MEP rather then SEP. Thank you very much for your videos, You explain everything using plane text.
