Our Favorite Hiking Spot in Missouri - Lower Rock Creek Trail | Bus Life Adventures Vlog 26

- Well, we orginally were sworn to secrecy when shown this hiking spot in our home state of Missouri. We promised to never tell a soul about its existence in hopes that it remained perfectly preserved for other avid hikers... Then I saw that it was listed on AllTrails and I thought to myself, "Just how secret could this place actually be..." So we've decided to share it with everyone that watches our channel. 😂

The trail going to the right at the pipe gate leads to a nice camp site and then a hell of a steep climb to the top of the mountain and 14,000 acres of National Forest. And, not to be picky, but Lower Rock Creek flows into the St. Francis (not from it). I have a house there and Lower Rock Creek is the northern edge of my property.
The rocks there are about 1.6 Billion years old. The St. Francois Mountains are the ancient remains of volcanoes.
“The nfl is racist” is when I turned the video off
Neat. 👍
Because we don't give no FUCKS about the NFL.....🤣🤣🤣
I haven't hike that area in more than 20 years because there is private land in the area and the owners were getting really hostile to people crossing their land. It never happened to me but I read something about it back then.
Heading out there today!
You both make great videos. Keep it up.
I just hiked there today ,to the creek and back, I didn't go too far there only a couple of hundred yards upstream until I got to where I would of had to get wet to go further. I was alone though, probably not a very good idea.
I hiked out of there at dark 13 years ago with My gf and two of her daughters using the flash from a camera and a cellphone light, definitely made sure I got there earlier today.
I lost the trail for a few minutes today, long enough to get scared . sure was relieved when I came out on the road.
there were two trees down across the road from the tornado weekend before last. I had to park there and walk a extra half mile
Thank you guys so much for packing out other's trash :) that is how we keep places like this!
Literally in my backward . I’m pretty happy to see y’all up there. I grew up down there. Went to High School there. I haven’t been back in there in 25 years. I sure do miss back home. So many great memories of nature. I really loved this video. I’m so happy right now. Thank you guys so much. Such beauty out there. Makes me really home sick. Now I’ve gotta visit for sure. Once again Thanks!!!!!
Do you realize that almost every county in Missouri has a Rock Creek? There is a Rock Creek in Jefferson County that is no where near or connected to the Lower Rock Creek in Iron County. Just mentioning it.
The lower rock creek in this video is in Madison County
Awesome
Heading out that way for my first time in the area! Thank you for the video!
Missouri is so overlooked. I grew up in the Ozarks (Summersville & Eminence area) where Current & Jacks fork rivers come together. My summers were spent camping, floating, hiking, horseback riding, 4 wheeling, & bonfires. There are just so many things to do & see for Travelers.
Wow. Lucky you!
I bet that's really nice in the summer
Really awesome video guy's! Thanks for sharing
Love the buzz cut Cole. Looks good. It's gotta be hot as hell out there. Good seeing you guys back on.
Vanngo Travelers Thanks. 🙏 Appreciate you following!
Beautiful place, thanks for the memories! Lower Rock Creek is known for unusually high concentration of venomous snakes. Cottonmouths, copperheads, timber rattlesnakes. Be careful and watch your step!
Sorry I didn't educate you that eye doctors were actually doctors. Who knew that it wasn't obvious! : )
Definitely your fault. 😄
Love your channel living the free life not free I mean doing whatever you want exploring different things
In live in blackwell Missouri and I have been camping down there your right it is a beautiful place..
Keith Willis We love Castor River Shut-Ins as well! Don’t know if that rings a bell too?
Now can you swim there ?
Jessica Galliher Definitely can use it for swimming in the summer months. 🙌 No lifeguard on duty though. 😄
Wonderful!
That's beautiful. I'm thinking we'll probably want to get a little land on a country road somewhere in the Ozarks as a home base spot when we fulltime in our bus. I plan to have a couple spots like that where we can park for extended stays on a little parcel that we control with a pavilion or carport and perennial garden.
Well if you ever need someone to take up room on the property we’d be happy to get an invite in the future. 😄 We really enjoy the area and have missed it greatly while on the road, not sure where we’ll end up planting roots ahead.
@@fliplifepossible you're cool ppl. I'm sure my wife and I would get along great with you two. It's going to be awhile for us until we hit the road. Our middle school daughter wants a traditional high school experience here in western PA. Could be between 4 and 8 years before we ditch our sticks and bricks here in PA depending on whether the two younger boys want to be road schooled or not. But the idea of a private skoolie group running a property collective has crossed my mind. Of course there are lots of awesome places for free, but I'm sure at some point it's nice to take a break from full nomad mode and stay put awhile on quiet land where you're in charge.
