I often wonder when people are on a stage talking on a stage to a group of random people sitting down and listening. I have been to China and it further strengthened my conviction about the reality of iron fist government silencing any alternative information sources. Your characterization of America is simply not right. I guess you're not aware of communist and socialist calls made day in and day out in American universities, think tanks, conferences and seminars, as well as in TV programs. You cannot dream anything near that kind freedom to express alternative governance ideas in China. So, first check the facts. About the Xinjiang issues. Certainly as a Chinese citizen you have no way of knowing what's really going on in those camps. In the west people at least search and do journalism to dig up information about the reality of situation. Since you have vpn and access to world wide internet, I would suggest you to search and educate yourself on Xinjiang issues. Let's go beyond nationalist views. I am not American nor living there. I understand your sentiments about your government, because they have achieved economic success pretty fast (not with communist economy, but with capitalist economy, otherwise you would all have equal wealth and everything would be owned by your government, which is not the case). I understand that sentiments and also the fact that China has now gained power in the world arena. So you guys are feeling proud, which is natural. Also this success makes you folks think that it's ok not to have an alternative say, not to have freedom of speech, it's ok to oppress minorities for the benefit of the majority. So you guys find it ok to keep silent, UNTIL... that until is important to note. The virus breakout in wuhan put millions into fearful state and now since their own lives (not lives of some government claimed "extremist" minorities) are in danger, these silent guys now start speaking up and criticizing the government for its slow actions regarding taking measures. In short, because it now hurts those han Chinese folks' lives, they start speaking out. So when you tell me something about the west, consider these first. Also, I remind you again, stay away from VPN, I worry about your safety.

To continue the thread on Xinjiang issues.. when there were first news about the education camps in the western media (which is wrong and engineered in your opinion) your government plain out denied their existence. After further push and more evidence based on the satellite images from the western media, your government had to acknowledge their existence (how do you feel about their lies, I wonder). Then finally they had to come up with a "show" (same old hypocritical way) that they're "happy" and dancing and learning new skills and so on. What skills will they teach to a professor ? I guess you also don't know professionals are equally put into those camps for "reeducation". I am not judging you or people at large. So, no need to defend such atrocities on your side. Just ask yourself, what would you feel if you were in those families instead of your current family and then you are pushed to such bs reeducation ? This is a basic morality and please ask yourself. Now, when I am talking about freedoms I am certainly not considering America to be the angelic state. At least these values are ideals that are aspired to in the western societies and they're also under attack by the developed technologies and huge corporations. So, you don't have to get into us versus them mentality here.

If the data does not fit your hypothesis, the hypothesis is wrong. Making "corrections" to the temperature data violates the scientific method, and yet this is openly done by climate "scientists" to try to validate their religion.
