    Completely nailed it Gagan Sir. The main problem with Honda is that they take Indian customer sentiments for granted & just dump shits in the market hoping everyone will buy with no questions asked. If Tata & Mahindra can innovate, Honda why not? There lies the main point.

    • @neru4557

      For sure they've taken it granted just like Ford and now see where they are. Indian consumer will show them there way out of this market

    • @tijokurian3820

      The main problem is Indian customer base which is very cost sensitive and priority is only for fuel efficiency and some useless features like panoramic sunroof, SUV like stance without all wheel drive. Honda is mainly known for their good performance engines which everyone want for a cheap price and our tax structure is not suitable for high performing bigger capacity engines. Fuel costs are also very high when compared to other Asian countries like, Philipines, Malaysia, Thailand, etc.....
      All in all most of the mainstream Japanese manufacturers dont have much profit in India when compared to other Asian countries where only Suzuki is suceeding because they have the cheapest produced vehicles in Japan and India.

      @@tijokurian3820 I won't say India is to that point cost sensitive. Yeah it can be true to a certain extent but see people are even buying Fortuner with 60 lakh price. Is it justified. Same for Innova as well. Honda doesn't have anything which is outright appealing to the masses.

      @shortsmore278 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mahindra's innovation only resulted in wheel assembly coming off at 100kmph resulting in near fatal and at times fatal injuries to passengers. They had to recall cars. Do you ever hear this with Honda? Never. I agree Honda needs to bring good cars to India but Mahindra and Tata has a long way to go in building fundamentally well engineered cars where wheels don't come off!

      Right bro. I own a City 2018. Never got a call for product feedback. Hard suspension (which got fixed in the later model), poor cabin noise insulation, dashboard rattles, old infotainment etc the list goes on...

    Great insights. Last year I purchased Honda Elevate Automatic ZX. I was able to afford the top version because it was introduced as the cheapest in its segment. And, it had all the necessary standard and advance features at 15.99 lacs. A reasonable price with top notch quality. So ,if you are driving a honda you are few of those niche individuals who understand the meaning of "quality". And quality comes at a cost! Less features and good quality is the focus of Honda. Remember, Honda is not for the mass market; but for those who understand quality.
    You can Very we'll go to an interview and say you own a Honda. Means, you understand Quality. You see... and that's what they are focusing.
    Well, you can now clearly distinguish yourself from the mass and you don't have to say a word.

    Honda just need to launch 4 models in india that they have in Thailand- WRV, HRV, BRV and CRV. But the problem with Honda is that the sales amd business is totally controlled and handled by the parent japanese officials they need to think like an indian buyer not as a japanese buyer. This same arrogant and lack of market research along with total control from the parent company resulted in the downfall of Ford, Chevy and Renault

    Honda don’t want to listen to customer feedback, learn from Kia who listened to Indian customers before launching Seltos in India and launched it with features as per customer survey. Honda is stubborn, I think this may be the last chance for Honda India. Brio discontinued, Brv discontinued, Accord discontinued, Crv discontinued, Civic discontinued, WRV discontinued. Soon Honda may be discontinued.

    • @atulpandey6500
      @atulpandey6500 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +26

      Being mechanically strong is not an excuse to offer outdated cars. Honda regularly updates it's cars globally but they keep on offering same model in india with limited options.
      Honda had hrv since forever but some genius decided to launch civic instead of that. It took them 10 years to launch elevate and even then it's launched with just one engine option. Why can't they launch turbo option to compete with creta/ kia and vw / skoda turbo suvs. Why can't they launch a hybrid option to compete with grand vitara.
      Having 100 gimmicy features in car is not necessary but having engine options is a must. With time certain features also become a necessary so you need to offer them to stay competitive.
      Ford made the same mistake and had to exit

    Yes sir being a City brv and wrv all three cars owner I can clearly say these cars are built to last and the dtech engine was a gem for mileage lovers vtech manual is extremely fun but....Why the CVT ? And not a good torque converter mated to a turbocharged petrol engine
    Honda was the only manufacturer to offer diesel amaze with CVT it was a big big segment gap filler as still till date we crave for diesels and our family's want automatic transmission as well
    Why the wrv didn't ever get a cvt ? A small thing as rear adjustable headrests in wrv are a must

    Honda cars are all rounder in terms of Safety, Dynamics, Ride quality, comfort, space, reliability, peace of mind and value for money from base variant but they are lacking in various aspects like No NCAP rating despite they also know both City and Elevate will score good or even 5 star rating..they just show internal crash test rating in the launch event but never send any car to GNCAP or BNCAP..I have suggested them multiple times on twitter but no response..
    They are always late to the party but always lack behind what the customer demands..
    I think they also know that their Sub4m Compact Suv won't survive in the competition because of cars like Nexon,Xuv 3XO,Sonet which already set a benchmark & they won't be able to provide more features than these cars..
    But we all know honda has potential which can disrupt the competition if they learnt from their mistakes and launch Compact Suv like WRV and BRV which will surely help them to gain 15k numbers.
    We believe in you Honda but try to compete with the competition not with yourself.

    I was waiting for the new WRV but it seems they'll bring it with 1.2L naturally aspirated engine, the same one used in Amaze and I'm reconsidering. Again, expected pricing at 9-13 lacs with lesser features and no engine options, isn't going to get them market share.

    I am a owner of Elevate ZX CVT for six months, purchased at the best in class introductory offer. It is a full necessary features vehicle and includes Honda Sensing. The fancy features which are not provided jacking up the cost is not ordinarily required. The car ownership both in city and highway is excellent, though mileage in bumper to bumper city traffic is less.

    Had booked an elevate. The features in each trim level and price difference and choice of necessary features/absence of same made me cancel my booking. Don't think company honchos take Indian customers seriously now. May be they think they don't owe Indian customers what they offer outside. May be govt policy too might have helped them ignore these.
    In tropical Kerala I dont need a sun roof, but need automatic with folding OVRM all.disk brakes and six air bags for which I must opt for top.model with ADAS which in Indian roads are still confusing. Comparing with other.models I found the options very pricy and hence moved away.

    Indian car buyers clearly lack understanding of the term quality. But at the same time, Honda also takes the blame for not innovating according to emerging trends and desires. One major suicidal move was the decision to do away with the diesel engine. Secondly, Honda's decision to go along with a a ridiculously chrome heavy front looks which looks just the same for its sedan line up, is great turn off. It deprives a model of its individual appeal. Honda also needs to be a lot more committed to it's model line up and its customers. For all it may try, Honda will never really be able to explain why it withdrew the fantastic CRV. And why something like the Honda WRV was discontinued. And yes, nit having a turbo charger is like shooting yourself in the feet!

But finally after Honda started losing the plot, i shifted over to Hyundai and VW products from 2015 onwards. Often wonder why Honda has not introduced its wide range of Intn'l products, instead it discontinued some very capable products like the Jazz, WRV, BRV and Civic by just not keeping them in tune with time.
