Thundercat and Bootsy add that extra dash of flavour that this album needed in this song. It’s the standout track of the album for me. Thundercat’s bass carrying the rhythm and his croons in the background are pure silk. Bootsy being his usual fly self with the ad libs weaving in and out. Masterpiece of a track!! ✌🏻✌🏻

This song is so sexy!! Everything from the 3-part harmonies w Andy, Bruno, and Thundercat to Bruno’s guitar solo and vocals at the end, Silk Sonic’s verses, Bootsy’s presence. The groove and pocket you mentioned is just absolutely sublime, Thundercat’s bass helps out tremendously as well. But there’s still the strings and twinkling synthesizers and glockenspiel to give the deep groove some space to breathe. This song is Bootsy Collins all the way too, I believe After Last Night samples a Bootsy song as well! Top-tier track, definitely one of the best on the album. They had to have laced this track with something, because it feels way too good to listen to this absolute heat 🔥 I can’t wait for the next one!

It was not until I learned that feel, and space, purposely driving and laying back on the time, that I fell in love in music. I learned that just like you. Can I just say - you're real one for giving credit to black American music/culture for how you developed as a musician. That kind of honesty is pretty rare these days...💖👏🏽🏅

If I’m not mistaken, Thundercat arranged the harmonies on this track! I might be wrong, I dunno, but either way Thundercat is an absolutely amazing player. You should definitely check out some of his stuff if you haven’t already! “Drunk” is my favorite record of his, but “It Is What It Is” is also immaculate. He has such a sense for groove and is utterly versatile. As far as the new wave of R&B and Soul goes, Thundercat is one of the big dominant forces in that area of music right now, and rightly so. Dude’s amazing. It’s so cool seeing him work with Bruno and Anderson, two giants in their own right. All to make this gorgeous record and song. Amazing reaction as always, you’ve been my go-to for in-depth breakdowns of what makes this record so incredible, and it’s wonderful to see how passionate you are about this music. I also really appreciate how much love and respect you have for music history, I’ve learned a lot!

I think it’s a three part harmony between Bruno, .Paak, and Thundercat on most of the song. Could be wrong.

Right when Bootsy comes in (for about 3 seconds), it reminds me of his song, "I'd rather me with you."

You were on point with that saxophone reference with his voice talking about Bruno that's the best way to put it. I remember keri Lewis from mint condition referencing stokely Williams voice as a very brassy voice and it reminded me of what you just said. It's amazing when a human can use their voice to replicate an instrument very gifted very talented

Always great reaction from a musician point of view.... This track has the funk master Bootsy style and influence all over it. If you get a chance, check out Bootsy song "I rather be with you".... I wouldn't be surprised if Anderson is on the drums because he is such a dynamic drummer.. No doubt Bruno is always a key role with arrangements and different instruments, along with other producers, writers, and musicians... Then you have an incredible artist in Thundercat who is exceptional with the bass.. I think most of all Bootsy had a major role on this track, and its possible he is playing some bass on this track... Seem like I heard some space bass activity especially on the second chorus right around Bruno singing "thick and pretty"......
