Nice! Also, would have never considered traveling with the clutches released. I wonder if I should leave the clutches released when the mount just sitting when I'm away for 10weeks+ at a time, so they are not sitting under strain... obviously with no OTA.
I think your fine with the clutches engaged if the mount is static in one location. It’s more for travel and not sending shocks of energy through the mount from bumpy roads etc.
@@StevenMorrisPhotography Cheers Steve, 45ish days to go......god it's torture, especially when you get an email saying your back order from September has now shipped and due for delivery this week. arghhhhhhhh!
Hi Steven, theres not many imaging with this scope, ive bought one and im finding that its not easy getting the targets into the fov of the camera, im using a HEQ5 mount, but i think I probably need an EQ6?, any advice would be welcome, its great to see your vids with this scope and id say please do more.
I wouldn’t upgrade the mount just yet, I would work on polar alignment and then star alignments first and see if that helps improve the pointing accuracy. I would upgrade to a larger mount if you find the current mount is struggling to support the weight of the scope and imaging setup. It’s a huge scope the 150!
Thanks. Could you tell me if the telescope suffers a lot of damage if I want to observe from the seashore? I say this because of the salinity that can affect the lenses. Is there a trick to protect it and be able to go anyway?
Couldn't you use an intervalometer? Set your shutter to bulb on the camera and the intervalometer can then be set to whatever you want. I use it on my Nikon
2:06 good advice, and if you have a Paramount MyT make sure to unlock your travel locks before turning the mount on or your gonna be swapping in a new control board on Monday 🙄
Steven Morris Only took a week for Software Bisque to get him that new board and he was able to swap it in himself, so nary a hiccup in his shooting schedule.
That's a very nice setup and great image of Orion nebula. When the world went into lockdown this year I saved up and first I bought the star adventurer pro pack and then the skywatcher 72ed ds pro refractor because I wanted something very portable to even put into backpack and travel to darker sky locations because where I live in Scotland it's bortle 6 skies and that's alot of light pollution so I'm planning to do all my astrophotography in the highlands of Scotland to places like isle of Skye and out side fort william and even Cairngorms national park all dark sky locations. Sadly I've not even tested the Pixel 4 smartphone for it's astrophotography mode in dark location due to the covid-19 pandemic. I'm impressed with your image as it looks so nice with alot of detail. What software did you use? I'd love to photograph the M16 next year's summer and hopefully get the world famous pillars of creation from Hubble space telescope. Hopefully next year will be alot better than 2020. It's great seeing your setup and I enjoyed the video take care!
I do miss visiting Isle of Skye and I never got to really see much of the Highlands because the hire car company wouldn't accept my visa card so I had no car to get around from Inverness. I had to hire a personal tour to get to Isle of Skye and it was only for 8 hours. Sounds like you've built up a nice little setup. So I use a mixture of software like Pixinsight and photoshop.
I can’t say I’ve used the 150 much for visual, I’m also not a big visual person so I wouldn’t be able to give you all the advice you might be looking for.
The closest i made it to the Barossa valley this year was the big desert, cheers from Victoria bro 🤙👍 Awesome work by the way and you inspire me to go further with astronomy, i am starting astronomy again after 15 years of life getting in the way sure would appreciate you visiting my channel and giving some helpful advice 🔭👍👍👍👍
I’ve been to Vic a bit in the past mostly cape schanck to run Nikon Nightscape courses. You guys have some spectacular coastal scenes but I could never pick the weather forecast lol. Your very welcome, I will stop by your channel when I’m near the computer next and check it out!
I spent so many nights up there when i was younger Steve. Brings back a lot of memories.
It’s a nice peaceful location and a great part of SA that’s for sure.

Pretty cool Steven! I like switching gear all the time!. Love the final image!
Cheers mate, it’s nice to change and see different results from different equipment.

Yes I most certainly could do that but I don’t have an intervalometet to plug into my camera so I just made do with what I had in the field 😊

I’d hate to see a Paramount MyT in need of repair!

Hello Sir, Great Photos, WoW effect :), Question do you feel Lens telescope is better for astronomy then mirror on the same size >?
I do prefer refractor style telescopes more than mirrored ones due to the amount of times you need to collimate them.
Have you used the Evostar 150 ED for visual? If so how does it perform?
I can’t say I’ve used the 150 much for visual, I’m also not a big visual person so I wouldn’t be able to give you all the advice you might be looking for.
1.24... Was that a falling star behind you? On the left side in the video (-;
Was this stock z5? Very nice results.
Yes it’s a stock Z5 😁

Hi Steve, is your Z5 HA modded? The Orion image is so nice and it picks up a lot of dust!
Hi mate, the Z5 isn’t modded at all so I was rather surprised on how much it picked up HA wise. Such a great camera.
Back to basics......brings out the Hubble scope 😂
