You me friends found a friendly Lake Erie watersnake! They live ONLY on the Lake Erie islands and nowhere else on the planet naturally! They're non-venemous and really cool little critters. That experience you had with one swimming up next to you is INCREDIBLY rare and a special occurrence, you're lucky to have caught it on video!

I live in Florida and we have a few good size lakes like Lake George ect. People truly underestimate how bad conditions can get on a lake and how fast it gets bad. The bathtub effect builds that chop up fast and you get waves slamming into waves causing confused water conditions. Not to mention the increased chances of hitting something under water in shallows.

That's nothing! LOL! Looks like you had fun, though. We were in that same spot, in an 18 foot Lyman, when it went from 1-2, to 4-6, with some bigger rollers mixed in. It happens quickly! Good fish!

I take it you are close to Dillon and the licking since it was referenced in the video. I am too no less than 30-45 minutes away. Fishing has seemed to have declined there in some aspects. But Lake Erie smallmouth is where it’s at. Also I’ve noticed if I am getting A lot of sheepshead on a Ned rig up there I’ll switch to a drop shot and usually start hammering smallmouth. For whatever reason the sheepshead don’t usually pick up the drop shot as much as they do the Ned.

I fished a deep v for 21 years on Erie, I got caught twice in some really nasty stuff, second time I didn't think we were going to make it, I was preparing to go down, we were bass fishing around the islands and couldn't see the weather coming, kind of like this video. white knuckled all the way in.

Funny how you say there literally must be millions of drum in Erie and you caught like 900,000 that day haha
