How many cycles for that belt to flex and break in?

I keep getting conflicting opinions on breaking in. Mostly about how NEVER go slow in high. Went through 2 belts now and have had so many dif reasons for why. Going under 30 in high was 1 reson. Driving threw a puddle of water (even tho It has snorkels on it). One guy said u have to warm the belt up eventime driving at least 15 miles. Like for real? Shit was 40k no way something new has this many problems

Because this is no where near the correct way to break a belt in.. I have always used the rule to not go into high gear until 30 miles of low gear not exceeding 35 mph all the while.
I also go through about 4 heat cycles at around 7 miles per cycle letting the belt cool in between.
Also be sure your clutch sheathed are nice and clean and don't have excessive residue so that the new belt wont slip.
And lastly make sure to wash the new belt in warm soapy water to get the "release agent" off of the belt. I myself use the old dishwasher trick to aid in that process then let it dry a while.
