    This video is more expressing each component and its function . Someone can have the same tune on shocks and the riding will not suit a certain driver . I personally did the fox tune and kept testing for a finer tune , I moved the clicks in increments of 1/2 turns till I got the ride I wanted . Test an tune is the name of the game

    I did this tune on my RC and it was awesome, with a few small adjustments, just know the toll they give you is no good. I ride the Dunes mostly

    What about setting for the Max X-RS?

  • @motounitedpartsdraper5116
    @motounitedpartsdraper5116 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    as a dealer its pretty annoying that your instructions dont include settings for an xrs max. for an xrs in the rear fox says installed spring length should be 31" but the entire spring uninstalled is only 29"??? and at 29" the ride heightis barely 14" which feels really akward when the front is at 15.5" this is pretty frustrating

    Fox - is this setup sufficient for both Dune / Whoop riding as well as aggressive trail riding? Or does this setup work better in one scenario over the other? Thanks!

      Aaron Shea this set up is the race set up so it will make it handle woods well and anything you could imagine on a race track after these adjustments I still adjusted to make it more comfortable for the riding style

      i would set the springs like he says to get proper ride height then use compression adjusters for what ride/race purpose or comfort you desire, Unless i missed it, he didn't mention that with increased spring tension, it will want to rebound harder so rebound damping should be stiffened a little

    Hey!
    So am I understanding that the units come lowered to fit freight, and then THIS tune should be performed to bring the vehicle to proper height? or is this a performance tune.

    • @mckrackin5324
      @mckrackin5324 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know this is old but,the vehicles are shipped set to a comfort setting. They are lowered for freight with ratchet straps to compress the suspension. They just cut the straps and the vehicle springs to it's regular ride height. th-cam.com/video/R5kMnLRBOhA/w-d-xo.htmlm31s

    I have the 2020 Maverick X3 Max RS turbo RR it seems as though the 2020 model sits higher than the same model in the 2019 version? Are the shocks or suspension components in different or is it just a different set it from Factory? ...Also can you include a link as to where I can find the correct Fox tune settings for my 2020 model Maverick X3 Max? Thanks

    On my 2017 X3 XDS, adjusting the rear crossover at 6" sits the rear fully on the main spring at rest. Is this normal? It seems to be very harsh on small bumps compared to the stock setting which had space between the main spring and crossover at resting height.

      Alex I'm going to go with your rebound adjustment, as your rear hits compression second, I'm going to say your rebound is to quick so the shock isn't doing it's job of controlling the spring back

    so I have the 18xrs and am looking for a softer ride, buddy has the razor 1000 and his is better for now.. I lengthened the springs a inch and softened dampening this week. much better but lost some ride height, still not as good thou as his... how much can I soften it till to much.. is there a tire pressure that is too low as well. down to 16lbs now on the 30s.. we ride mountain trails and ditch banging, little jumping as well.. thanks all for the help, great video

    • @korigregerson8388
      @korigregerson8388 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      i have a 18 xrs as well. in the mountains i open up the hsc and lsc completely and drop the air to 10 psi all the way around. it really helps to air down.

    • @ethanlewis7670
      @ethanlewis7670 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I run my tires for mountains at 11psi, Dunes at 8psi. May help a bit. 16 psi would still seem pretty hard to me.

    Does this apply to the 2018 model as well? Also with the dampening and rebound it says " all adjuster positions are measured from the fully closed (clockwise) position. So I went fully closed clockwise and did the amount of turns/clicks that you guys provided but in the direction counter clock wise. But in your video it says clockwise = stiffer counter clock wise = comfort. So did I just make everything less stiffer, is that the goal of this tune?

    • @joshuaorange8290
      @joshuaorange8290 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably not since it's a turd compared to the X RS.

    • @I_AM_HUGO
      @I_AM_HUGO 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Joshua Anthony it's just a copy of the rzr and has the front end copied from the yxz. CanAm finally got smart and used most of the designs that came from Polaris.

    • @joshuaorange8290
      @joshuaorange8290 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're right that Can Am learned what they know from Polaris. Then they took everything a step further. And made it better. Polaris has been peddling the same thing for years without innovating. They are the Apple of the UTV world. You can only be the leader, while doing nothing to keep yourself there for so long. The Can Am has more HP, bigger brakes, bigger tires, longer suspension travel, better shocks, more ground clearance, beefier suspension etc than anything Polaris has ever offered.

    • @I_AM_HUGO
      @I_AM_HUGO 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm certainly not saying it's a bad machine, and you are absolutely right. Now Polaris will be forced to come out with something completely new, just like they did when they went from the XP 900 to the 1000. Polaris has been making these leaps from the beginning, but eventually these guys are gonna hit a wall and become overpriced.

    • @joshuaorange8290
      @joshuaorange8290 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're absolutely right. Can Am effectively is forcing Polaris' hand with this new machine. This is the first time Polaris has really been challenged. I don't doubt they've been working on something. Not the same old platform. But a ground up redesign. The way Polaris likes their profit margin, it will be every bit of 30k.
