Sonic and the Sanctuary Stones is a Sonic the Hedgehog hack made by raphael_fc.
The powers of the Sanctuary Stones (S monitors):
- "Ring Hill Zone": allows you to make the Jump Dash and gives you five rings for each enemy destroyed with it;
- "Ice Bumpers Zone": allows you to make the Double Jump;
- "Ruination Zone": gives you immunity against fireballs;
- "Neon City Zone": allows you to make the Super Jump;
- "Deep Ocean Zone": gives you infinite air underwater.

I made this hack circa 2011. It was 99% finished, but then I lost all the files due to computer issues. Recently, I found an old version on an old e-mail of mine, which is kinda finished as well.
I played it and I found the level design pretty bad, but I won't be able to edit anything. And I don't want to, because the way these levels were made is just part of history, I guess. Despite its flaws, I am proud of it, because it is my first hack ever and I had absolutely no experience on this thing. So I decided to publish it the way it is. After all, it is a complete hack, so you can beat the game at the end.

There’s definitely some things here that stand out from other hacks, not saying that is a bad thing, I just like a lot of the ideas here.
Bom trabalho no hack. Eu ainda n sei como vc conseguiu bota "Come as You are" em 16 bits com o soundfont de Mega Drive e ainda fica com o tempo da musica intacto mas tá bem loco. AWESOME JOB!!!

Anybody noticed that Deep Ocean Zone's music track is just Come as You are by Nirvana except it's slightly pitch shifted down and doesn't have the iconic guitar at the beginning
Love how the pallete of the bushes at 20:23 is turned orange so it looks like fire.
So, Each zone gives Sonic each ability for that zone? Very interesting!
I've played tons of messy ROM hacks and some good ones (such as Sonic in Egg Factory Zone (both Remastered and the older version) and the S-Factor), but this is going into my ROM hacks folder! It's so good!

The hack looks really cool and the custom special stages look very unique. Only nit pick i have is why is it a messed up speed up version of spring yard zone for the speed shoes?
But besides the nit pick looks like a fun game even with the added ability sonic learns from the S moniters.
