I like using reflex sights for my Gryphon to accurately aim at about 30-50 feet. Half darts out of a high crush horizontal flywheel blaster are pretty accurate.
I like the idea of creating a wearable HUD that identifies and tracks potential targets and overlays where your weapon is currently aiming. Augmented reality Nerfing: dweebs pushing the boundaries of human ingenuity...
Wonder if you could add a camera to track darts (maybe make them reflective or something) and some AI to learn to predict trajectories so the HUD could be a targetting computer too...

On the temperature point if you are familiar with Captain Xavier was donated a caliburn that was kept in someone's car at an HvZ event and that warped it so that is something to watch out for.
Definitly go with the A.R scope. Ideally it could run some algorithms that would create an estimated trajectory based on variable parameters, similar to an aircraft targeting pod.
While I haven't listened to your videos while tabbed out, as someone who often listens to TH-cam while gaming, I really appreciate the : tab back in a look notes

I know I’m late, but My vote is for the Wearable smart blaster. An enemy team color recognition system and an auto firing blaster mounted onto a vest and you can let the robot literally have your back!
Reflex lens Heads up display scope - use a LCD without the back in place of the laser for displaying Ammo, reticle, battery voltage.... Inclination sensors to account for parallax... Laser range finder while your at it

Nah, that's a caliburn long barrel, spending and the spring load he should be up to 250-300fps.
Great video, though darts can be very accurate depending on which ones you’re using and the setup of your blaster (spring load, barrel, seals, etc.)

Definitely a wearable blaster! Maybe you can pull your arm back and that compresses the spring to launch the dart? I have so many ideas and no idea how to execute them hahah

I adore what you've done with the Caliburn! I'd love to get one, but I don't want to invest in Talons and I don't have a 3D printer to make them.
Oh, also you should make the aimbot scope.
If you're going full-Talon, the real deal isn't actually that expensive. You can find them for about $7 each, and if you can get a couple of friends together and buy 50 or so, they're as cheap as $4. Honestly, it doesn't make much sense to print mags unless you already have a pile of drum springs and you yeet them to oblivion like I do.
I put one of the 5.8ghz camera/VTX combos you can use for drones (the small cheap $15 ones from Amazon) on a picattiny adapter on my woozie and I wear one of those $40 5.8ghz receiver watches so I can lay down relatively accurate suppressive fire completely behind cover. Keep my entire body behind cover and just aim with my watch.

5:55 You can actually carry more than twice as many half-darts in a normal pocket than you can with full-lengths, and that's if they're loaded in magazines, at least if you're a guy. I'm not sure about girls, though. I can only fit one or two 12-round full-length magazines in a pocket on my typical shorts, while I can fit 4 or 5 15-round half-length magazines in the same space, and it's easier to take the half-length magazines out of my pocket than it is with full-length magazines.

Great video zack, but i believe that the adapters that come with off the shelf adventure force pro blaster can also take talons as well as katanas.
I wanna see some stuff for airsoft. Solves a lot of the issue with nerf. Sights can even matter if you have a good sniper.

augmented scope!! use tensorflow lite to upsample the image and/or track the orange dart with YOLO for a HUD indicator!
probably dont need YOLO for dart tracking and can just use openCV. but yolo could also be used for finding people hiding

My vote is for augmented reality aim assist because the M56 Smartgun from Aliens is awesome and the marines seem to share your affinity for AR glasses. And the idea of accurately hip-firing sounds cool.

I used to do blaster mods around 10-12 years ago, never internal stuff though, just visual. I mostly made legendary guns from Borderlands 1 & 2.
I would suggest to develop the smart scope. dart trajectory is very important with this hobby, and having something that can predict a possible arc that the dark can travel can benefit immesely
