The “just kidding” at 4:53 was actually really well timed and caught me way off guard. I’m so used to seeing so many channels nowadays just casually whip out the fact that they designed and made a perfectly fitted part after a bunch of CAD work and multiple designs. I totally expected to see that and then you just went “nah I found a pipe that fit it lol”. Idk it’s probably not that big a deal but I personally found it really funny
Hey dr flux, if you see this comment I want to let you know that with the X shot longshot it can take the spring from the Dart zone Max dictator and it’s hitting 285fps on average, give it a try
Haven't been interested in nerf blasters for years, but still find myself watching the whole video to the end, another great video! Immaculate humor and clear explanations as usual.
These were the sidearm to have in the 2012-2014 NIC in Canada. There was a time when they were $5 CAD at ToysRUs. Little bit of shell cutting you could slap a 1/2" CPVC coupler on it. Or nest a brass breech in some 1/2" PVC if you were feeling fancy.
You're bound to find your place on this platform. I feel like we're seeing you figure out your film/content process in real time but you're one of the few who hit the ground running. Keep it up and I have no doubt in my mind you'll make it.
You know, this thing looks pretty similar to a paintball shooter I had when I was younger. I forget what it was called though. I never knew it could have fired a Nerf dart!
The "flintstone house" you mentioned is in my neighborhood! I pass by it all the time. Only recently did the new owners make it colorful and add dinosaurs. Before it was a funny brown clay-looking bulbous house---the personality came with the new owners but there was a bunch of opposition to it. As you know by now, this is definitely a paintball blaster, which is why the spring is so strong. Had one a long time ago. It used proprietary paintballs that were much smaller than standard size.
Yes , 10mm paintballs. I used one of those mini sized bottled waters to make a 100rd hopper for mine. Btw at the time I bought mine 15 years ago ( these were actually around as early as '06-'07 ) they also had the chalk dart version. The port on top was plugged, and they came with these darts that would leave a colored chalk dot on you when hit. I think there were even 2 gun sets with red and blue chalk darts with a plain white vest thing so kids could sort of play a save version of paintball in their backyard.
Love the format of this video! Filmed very well, very informative, and delivery was never slow or offpace - solid work! Also, love the band on your seiko!
This channel has great potential. In my opinion there’s a vacuum of great nerf content on TH-cam, especially now that coop has retired, and I think this channel, with a little bit of work, could fill those shoes.
Perfect video to watch during my lunch break. Thanks brother! I own a single nerf gun atm. The bulldog from halo infinite. It shoots pretty hard out of the box but I'm assuming the nerf community could make it way way stronger haha
Just came across your channel and thiught you were a much bigger channel! Instantly subbed, great content, funny and extremely well edited and filmed. Good effort dude, keep ot up!
I have the exact same one but purple and it's meant for Nerf epicness. It has a 6-dart storage right under the barrel and it used to be the best Nerf gun I owned. Over the years though, it would occasionally shoot like 1ft :C
Hey, I really love this video. This kind of content is what made me so fixated on "Nerf" and adjacent toys when I was a kid, and your sense of dry and straight-faced humor resonates with me. I hope you get whatever you're looking for out of this TH-cam channel.
Honestly I'm more or less concerned about the blaster destroying itself out of power even after seeing the whole thing. I sorta want to see if you can make a version of this project that can reach similar or higher levels of force without any of the self-destruction.
Keep a projectile to absorb the energy and wont have a problem. The problem is when you dry fire, the energy that would go to launch the projectile is redirected into the object itself. Be it bow, or this. Limbs and strings on a bow can explode. Better it to break than explode.

can't believe that within one month and only 3 videos you are 5.35k subs up. keep going, I can see your channel grow to be one of the biggest channels out there!
I had this EXACT gun as a kid and we would use the whistler darts that had a tighter fit and would fly a lot better then normal bullets. Amazing video!
Back in my high school days (20 years ago) I was big into homemade pneumatic monster blasters made of ABS with sprinkler solenoids and electronic triggers. My greatest one was a breech loading single shot sniper that could put a nerf dart through a soda can. I still have it but I'd be wary to trust the seals after this long. I made a double barrel style one for a friend but unfortunately he discovered that an anti-aircraft round fit perfectly inside it. He forgot one was in there and accidently put his brother in the hospital. I stopped making them after that.
I think a bit longer barrel, maybe just 1 inch longer, drilling out the air vent a bit and having a plastic spacer in the back of the plunger instead of the heavy steel socket (making the plunger lighter=more acceleration) would make it easily go up to 160 fps, if not higher.
Found onenof these at a thrift shop 10+ years ago, and I never took it apart cause it shot great, seeing how yours kicked the lever out of place when fully modified makes me think mine had to be modified too, cause it did the exact same thing
@@mattie_y yeah I'd believe that, it was a magical find for sure, all the other blasters and NERF branded cost like 3x as much as the little purple pistol
This is actually a good engineered toy, built to last. Here's why: A) The real reason it has a spring, rather than a restrictor valve, is because if you close the air output, you'll overpressure it for a moment, leading to damage to the plunger chamber over time. B) The plunger tube's rubber, which holds the brake spring, is also designed in such a way that it will expand towards the chamber's walls when pressure increases, leading to a better seal. C) The long lever, rather than a pull rod, has a better transfer of force, allowing for children to be able to properly load it. Unlike some nerf guns. It was made by a company called Tech Group, and this specific gun was built in 2(maybe 3?) variants. The Predator, and the Wipeout.

I had one of those paintball guns as a kid. My older brother and I got them as a Christmas gift in probably 2010 or something. I put a nerf dart in it, as I was curious, and out of the box, it shot it out so hard that it flew across the park, and when we found it, it had been blown apart with a huge gaping hole in the side of the dart. It was absolutely insane and I loved using it until I finally threw it out like 6 years later.
