    Another solid review, Sean! I’ve heard about this book for years but haven’t read it - will check it out on your recommendation.

      Thank you Saul. Yes indeed. Please check it out. I am really impressed with it and think that everyone should read it at least once in their life and that a person may want to keep a copy around for reference. There is so much good information and for most people, it wouldn't be possible to read it once and retain it all. Highly recommended. =)

    Great video Sean! I liked how thorough you're review of the book is! I love your two camera set up! I like how professional you look! You come across very friendly in the video! Very cool!

      Thank you Julie. I appreciate that. The book is so great, I wanted to be very complete in my review. Thank you for noticing the two-camera set up. It comes in really handy when editing because it makes it easier to switch between different takes. Thank you as well for the feedback. I’m glad that you think that I come across as being friendly and professional. That's definitely what I'm trying to convey so I’m glad that it’s coming across.
      I saw your video on the subject of “What To Do If I'm Being Harassed At Work”. I'm sorry that you had that experience. I noted that you in your video you talked about the importance of hiring a lawyer at one point. If it is helpful, please take a look at my new video on my tips on how to hire a lawyer and get the best results. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/FckHczj0zwA/w-d-xo.html
      Thanks again Julie. =)

      Thanks Sean! Yes, this video is great! Thanks so much for taking the time to watch my "What To Do If I'm Being Harassed At Work" video. It's a long one. I appreciate your empathy in what I experienced. I'll totally take a look at your new video on tips on how to hire a lawyer. I think it's a really important topic that not alot of people have experience with. Thanks Sean!

      You are most welcome @@juliethefilmmaker. I'm so glad that you think so. Thank you for sharing your experience. It takes courage to do that and it has undoubtedly helped others. One of the amazing things about TH-cam is that we can share experiences, even difficult ones like these, to assist others.
      I just got a comment today on one of my other videos about suffering a collapsed lung (something that happened to me earlier this year): th-cam.com/video/aMp8FG3gC34/w-d-xo.html. The comment made me realize how good it is to be able to connect with other people going through the same hardships. There seems to be so much that divides people these days but in so many ways, we're the same at heart and we're all in this life together.
      Yes indeed, please take a look at my video on hiring a lawyer. I'm going to reach out to some pro bono societies soon to see if they are interested in sharing it. I think that it could really help a lot of people. If you have any ideas of places that I could share it in your area, please let me know. =)

    Thank you! The review was helpful. The writer Richard Bolles was a priest, and I like that blue portion at the end of the book makes one question their purpose and spirituality, because that is the ultimate purpose of life and ties into our decisions concerning a career.

      You are most welcome Stacey. Thank you for commenting on that specifically. I looked back at what I said in the video and I wish that I would have chosen different words. Although I do still think that the Blue pages may indeed 'turn some people off' (such as people who do not adhere to the Christian faith), I should not have called it 'strange'. As you say, Richard Boelles was a man of faith and it was important for him to include this specific content. If a person doesn't want to read that section, they can simply choose not to. I very much appreciate what you are saying and how you've said it. Kudos. 😊

    Is there much difference between the 2021 and 2022 edition of this book, or do you think one wouldn't miss out on much they read the 2021 edition instead?

    • @SeanDillman
      @SeanDillman  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Rehema. You are most welcome. Thank you for the question. In short, I’m confident that the 2021 and 2022 editions are identical and that you would not miss out on anything by reading the 2021 edition instead of the 2022 edition. Allow me to explain. I'm looking at the Amazon webpages for the 2021 (amzn.to/3algAIH) and 2022 editions (amzn.to/3aH9JcN). Both editions show that they have exactly 352 pages. When I look at the 2020 edition (amzn.to/3xeZgy1) it shows that there are only 320 pages. I could be wrong but given that there was an increase of 32 pages from 2020 to 2021, but no increase in pages from 2021 to 2022, I’m guessing that the 2021 edition would have the same information as the 2022 edition. Further, I’m using the “Look Inside” feature and looking at the tables of contents for the 2021 and 2022 editions. Both editions seem to have identical paginations. The chapters in both editions start on the same pages and the indexes start on page 337. This leads me to believe that all of the chapters and sections have the same page counts which would mean that they would likely contain the same contents. There may be some small changes in wording here and there but for the most part I would guess that the 2021 and 2022 editions are the same and that you would get the same content by reading the 2021 edition instead of the 2022 edition. Let me know if you pick it up and give it a read. I’d love to know what you think. =)

      @@SeanDillman I was wondering the same for 2022 vs. 2023. I purchased 2023, but it does not have the audible version, which I also am interested in purchasing. Do you know if they will also issue an audible version for 2023? I am not sure if the timing of different formats are varied every year.

    • @SeanDillman
      @SeanDillman  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi @@khp333 Please excuse the delay in my response. It has been a busy holiday season. Thank you for asking me about this. I am looking at the 2023 edition on Amazon (amzn.to/3Q84ovw). It looks to me that the 2022 and 2023 editions are identical. Both editions show that they have exactly 352 pages. Also, when I look at the table of contents for the 2022 and 2023 editions, they appear to be the same. For example, every chapter starts on the same page (5, 23, 37, 71, 97, 111, 189, 211, 243, 279, and 293), and each section at the end (entitled, 'The Final Words', 'About the Authors', 'Notes', and 'Index') starts on the same page. Given that the pagination is identical in both books, I’m confident that they are identical. I’m also confident that you could go with the 2022 Audible version and get the same information. I’m not sure if a 2023 Audible version will be released. I doubt that the publisher would re-record a new version if the contents are identical.
      Was that helpful? Happy New Year. 🙂🎆

    Think about what a parachute does, when you're falling and it's making you slow down. The name of this book sounds like discrimination to me.

    • @SeanDillman
      @SeanDillman  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Atom U. Thank you for your comment. That's an interesting suggestion. According to Wikipedia, "Bolles explained the book's memorable title as his response at a business meeting in 1968 when someone told him that he and several co-workers were "bailing out" of a failing organization, prompting Bolles to joke, "What color is your parachute?". "The question was just a joke," he said. "I had no idea that it would take on all this additional meaning."

      @@SeanDillman You gave a really good talk about the book, Sean. I actually didn't hear any music -- except for those bass beats, like somebody outside my apartment had the boom box going on in his car just making noise just because. Why is music necessary at all when you're talking? Music is to be listened to for its own sake. Music abuse!

    • @SeanDillman

      Hi @@geeceesteiner62. That's a fair point. I'm sorry that the bass notes were jumping out. I typically put a music bed on my videos to make them a bit more energetic and interesting and to hide any minor noises that my microphone picks up when I'm making videos. Again, I'm sorry that you don't like the music in my video. My intentions were good and honest. 😊
