I bought one on amazon earlier this year. It made a major difference in my hair and scalp! I have hard water and the purchase has been worth it. I used to have to tone my hair color regularly and no longer need to this since getting the filter. Definitely recommend getting a filter!
I'm finding the whole idea pretty sus because it seems nearly impossible that anything can truly get filtered out at the speed it comes out... instantaneous filtering? blasphemy XD
The best Hair advice for heat styling! I have curly thick hair that will frizz. I know how to care for it in the curly state but thermal styling was always a struggle. I brought the recommended products for coarse hair and my hair came out perfect. Followed your instructions and i can't believe how effortless the process was. I am a black American woman. Everyone can follow your advice and get the same results i believe. Thank you❤❤❤
Heatless curls- I use all types of heatless curls at night to maintain my Dyson styled curls. You are right- these need lots of practice, like lots of Practice. These are fun & useful in certain situations!
I appreciate how you made sure you really tested the Jolie shower filter because it is pretty pricey. I've heard good things about the sprite shower filters which are available at home depot and at a way more accessible price point. I would really like to see you try that one.
My hair is so grateful to you Chris ❤️ You've been such a blessing to my hair after I lost lots of it while going through harsh autoimmune health issues last year. It lost its volume and life! When I was trying to get better, I found one of your videos, then I went through all your other videos. I took your advice and recommendations religiously, and that changed my life forever. 9 months in, and I can't believe how greater my hair has become ✨ Thank you endlessly for your honesty and your generosity 🙏🏻 Other than that, you're so inspiring me to go way and beyond for my passion through the passion you have for hair even if you don't have much of it, and you're so funny and entertaining with your amazing co-founder that I want more of in your next videos 😂
The last one with the scalp scrubby thingy.....it works fantastic as a cat brush. My girls love it because it helps pull out some of that undercoat with their heavy coats. Never tried it on my head though. 😅
I’ve been following your videos and taking your advice for some time. Thank you for being so consistent in your messaging from video to video! It doesn’t matter how trendy something gets on TikTok, you won’t promote it just because. We appreciate your honesty and all the great hair tips.
One of the best water filter systems is the Aquasana! We have well water/hard water and got just the shower head/filter combo and it did wonders now we have the whole house filtration system and its so worth the investment. We tested it and it made a huge difference and have been using it for over 3 years now and my hair is so much healthier and skin doesnt always feel so dry! Highly recommend that brand!
Your videos popped up in my recommendations and boy am I glad they did! Absolutely amazing, amazing tips. I have very overly processed, dry hair that I thought was beyond saving. Your tips rescued my hair in 2 washes alone! The leave-in conditioner is something I never ever used before. Combined with Moroccan oil and the right hair wash and drying techniques- my hair has been transformed! I even sleep with it in a silk cover up and use a terry lined shower cap! I have come across sooo many, many stylists on youtube but your tips actually work and make sense! I look forward to the journey of growing longer, stronger, healthier hair. THANKYOU!
That shower head is expensive, then if you have more than one person using it, you’ll be replacing filter’s more often. If it’s in your budget, go for it, but not in our’s. I use a clarifying shampoo every 1-2 weeks, to get the mineral build up out. I use the OUAI Detox Shampoo, and it works well. There are less expensive brands, but only using it 2-4 times a month. It doesn’t strip my salon color, and my hair looks and feels healthy.
Chris, your videos are great! My hair was a mess until I discovered your videos. I was doing all the wrong things and my hair was frizzy and dull but now it looks shinny and nice. Thanks again!
Thank you for this video. I do notice that everytime you talk about the Dyson, I feel bad because I have one and I was totally happy with it until you advices not to spend money on it. I would appreciate a video where you explain how to best use the Dyson for thos of us who will not replace it for the Revlon. Thanks again!
Chris and Leslie crack me up! I love my silicone hot product mat. I didn’t think I needed it let alone would use it. My daughter got me one for Christmas last year and I use it every hair wash day and travel with it. I’ve not ever dropped more than a brush BUT when I have something on that mat, anyone who goes in my bathroom will know there’s a hot item, be careful. That was something I always worried about.
*Hard Water Filter* . I have a Sprite shower filter, purchased from Lowes. My water is very hard, lot's of iron, and lime. I do feel it's been beneficial for my skin and hair. When I need to do a re-fresh on my wavy hair, I only use distilled water to re-activate product. In my previous home, I had a whole house water softener. I never had skin or hair fall issues. That being said, I was 20 years younger. After menopause, my hair was super dull and the fall out was disturbing. Switch products and the shower filter was a game changer for me.
I would definitely like to try the filter for the shower. Down south in the UK the water is incredibly soft, so when I go down in the summer for mini holiday...my hair always feels incredible. It gets lot of volume and feels soft, also massively increases my curls.
Regarding the heatless curls. I do them with hand knitted socks from my granny and it works really easy and looks good. If you shower in the evening and hair is a little bit wet just wrap your hair around and fix with a few Bobby pins. 👌
If hard water is what you're trying to fix, you either need a whole house water softener or a WaterStick. Both options are pricey but they do what they say they do. The downside of the WaterStick is that you have to replenish the salt reservoir really often, possibly once a week or even more often if you have many people using shower every day. It doesn't take long to replenish but it can get annoying after awhile. For chlorine, a KDF 55 filter is what you need. You want a filter that contains 100% KDF 55. The multi-stage filters contain so little of each filter that they aren't really effective at filtering anything. Chlorine is one of the worst offenders for drying out hair and skin so going with a filter that is designed specifically for that is ideal. You can do both the KDF and the WaterStick and it's actually recommended to prolong the WaterStick's lifespan because chlorine can damage it over time.
I love your hair videos the most out of all the videos that I've ever watched and I've watched a lot. And you are super funny. You are hilarious. I love your humor as much as I love your Kind heart.😂 Also, i've only done a few of your tips and i've already noticed a huge difference. I can't wait to start Your hair recommendations! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, a million times over. You are the kindest sweetest most giving, and may I add honest? Oh, and don't forget humble. Oh yeah And easy on the eyes.
Shower head filters are amazing. I live in an area with extremely hard water - it probably doesn't help that there was a lot of mining here. Went to Yellowstone in 2019 and stayed a few hours away in an Idaho Falls AirBNB. My hair always looks horrible on vacation, but my hair LOVED the water - it was the best it had looked in probably 5 years. When I got home I bought the same filter that was on that shower head. Been doing much better since.
When I spend time at my country house located three hours into the Swedish forests, my hair looks and feels so healthy compared to the dry, coarse and greasy mess it turns into as soon as I’m back washing it in my city apartment. So yes, a shower filter might be a good investment for me. 💁♀️🚿 Edit: Corrected a misspelled word.
6:35 I do this curls with my bandana/headband. I pull my wet hair around and let it try. It's even a great hairstyle for the day. In the evening I pull these curls around my bandana again and go to sleep. It works for my long bob haircut.
I absolutely love this guy! He makes the information fun and direct with no nonsense recommendations that I've started to try to save my hair from all the damage done over the years with other products that I've used. Keep up the good work and stay independent.
Thank you for helping me professor! Your advice saved me time, energy, effort and money (in the long term) because I was trying way too hard with my hair and now i follow you and its doing just fine and i don't worry about it 🥰💕
I bought the Revlon blowout dryer and loved the style BUT I sent this back because the HEAT WAS CRAZY HOT!!!! I felt it would end up damaging my hair after repeated use!
@BlowoutProfessor Could you please make a video showing what's the best way to keep your hair straightened after blowout (in general and especially overnight) + how to get them in shape again, avoiding damage without washing? 100 thanks! 😊
Yes please. Any bit of humidity including sweat makes my hair get curly. And if i tie it up even loosely in a shower cap or to sleep it gets kinked immediately
I haven't heard him talk about it, but i "wrap" it around my head and keep in place with something that looks similar to what he showed to use when washing your hair. Except i use a mesh thing, i got it at a local beauty supply store. It did take me a lot of practice to learn to wrap it around my head and it doesn't keep the volume at the roots, if that's important to you. But it's very doable and in the morning my hair almost looks like i straightened it.
@increasingjoy1391 I didn't see that video. But thanks for your advice 🙂 the mesh thing: do you know the brand? Couldn't find something like that on Google
Shower head filter… had a hairdresser friend recommend one online. I bought it cause I have eczema and noticed a difference. Couldn’t find actual science but it definitely filtered out something.
I use the AquaBliss filter on my shower. It’s a temporary solution until the plumber can schedule to put in my new filtration system. In an older home with a very non-efficient single filter for well water. My hair no longer holds the soap/gets greasy after I wash it.
I wish i found your channel sooner. The amount of professional knowledge and instruction are so appreciated. My hair used to be waist long. I'm happy to say it is almost back to that length thanks to all your advice on fixing fine dry hair using wrong products for my hair type. You rock!!!
Chris, I’m in my late 60’s and have loved watching your videos. You’ve helped me a lot to reduced the products I use in my hair. My problem (I think) is the hard water I have in this house. My hair has never felt like it use to when I lived in Texas. (Yeah I’m a few years older too) could you test “Shower Envy” shower head because that’s what I was thinking of getting. It’s more in line with my budget (I think) than a whole house water softener. Thanks for breaking down the products as to what is necessary in this video. ❤
Strange, because my scalp became sooooo itchy when I moved to Texas. I used to hear from the locals that the water was very hard. I think our scalps eventually adjust to the water though.
Please please please do a video on how to tame frizzy hair. I use a ghd straightner to curl my hair and looks great but as soon as i leave the house im like a frizz ball, birds nest on my head kinda thing. Pleaseee helpp!!!
First of all, where have you been all my life???? Thank you thank you thank you!!! I have long hair and it is so dead and dry and breaking!!!! I will be following your advice to a tee!!! Also, PLEASE do more videos on scalp care! I had dandruff for years, got rid of it with something that I can only say burned it off my head 20 years ago, and now it's back. I'm also peri-menopausal, and it came back around that time. My head itches all the time! And I can't stand the dandruff! Please help!
I’ve just bought a filtering shower head for my hair too!! But it’s almost unrealistic to keep buying and testing which one really works. I’m most excited if you guys can test for us!!!❤❤❤🫡
I’ve been following your tips since May and my hair has grown so fast like in 3 months and it’s the longest it has ever been even my family thought I was wearing weave. But I recently went to a salon and the hair stylist snuck a chemical treatment in my hair and didn’t wash it out so most of my hair has fallen out and the rest is damaged. I know what to do since I’ve grown it before but it kinda sucks. I’m thinking if wearing extensions any tips or extensions recommendations I wanna try clip ins but I hear they rip hair out. I heard that if you braid your hair before applying it will be fine but idk
Thanks for the real talk! Looking forward to your future showerhead recommendation! And yes, I’ve tried nutrafol, vegamour…you name it. None worked or made my hair loss worse!
Can you make a video about Kerastase products. It is the most popular brand in Europe, so I would like to know which products from them are actually worth it. Thank you
I love you guys you’re awesome! From watching your videos and purchasing the specific hair products, my hair has never been in such great condition! Thank you Chris and Leslie!! You guys rock! 🙌🏼
Chris, you mentioned that the Revlon bow dry brush is for younger people. Is that due to lack of experience with hair products, or because their hair is young. I don't like to blow dry my hair at all because it dries it out
Hi Chris! I really love that you mentioned the heatless curls - I still don't have a 'proper brand' so I always use my bathrobebelt. And as you said it takes practices! But now I'm able to do them reall nicely, which took me less time to master than to do my curls with an iron. Also as I have super super super fine and thin and completely straight hair I normally wear it straight for 1-2 days and then I like some curls for my 'messy' hair as it would be too slippery for curls to hold anyways right after washing. As I'm really trying to stick to your tips I'm not using heat for at least 3 days so these heatless curls are a perfect way for me to change the look without using heat. But tbh I'm the only one of my friends that's able to pull this look with this method so I guess it's not for everyone 😅
Thanks for the video Chris especially about the alligator clips, I need some & almost bought a different type today, glad I waited. I do have to disagree about that foam roller. I bought mine about a year ago & I think it's easy & my hair comes out great. I did have to practice and figure out how many sections to use. I have a lot of neurological problems that's left me with virtually no feeling in my hands so this is been a lifesaver
I got the headbands with velcro about 2 years ago first because I was struggling with the baby hair getting wet and product getting into them every time. I have super blonde hair, and washing away foundation without getting it into the baby hair was a struggle. This thing not only keeps hair mostly dry and out of the way, it also helps to minimize product getting in the hairline and messing the white hair because it pulls back quite a bit. HIGHLY recommend. Another life-changer: get wrist bands. Has nothing to do with hair, but is life-changing!
The scalp brush I find to get a more thorough scrub in less time. I do a normal finger scrub for a bit, and then I go in with the brush. I know it makes a difference coz the back of my scalp was much more itchy and with brushing my hair and getting that spot I felt like a dog kicking it's leg lol. After I started adding the scrub brush that basically went away and scalp is less itchy. I think it just does a better job at getting off the dry skin and exfoliates it a bit.
Love the robes curls on my long hair!!! Watched 1 TH-cam video tutorial and I was all set. The curls last for days after I spray them with that hairspray you recommend for straight fine hair. Thank you!!!!
Chris! Thank you so much for sharing your unsponsored knowledge! I feel like I can trust you. Since you used to be in the fitness industry, you know us gym rats that train and have hair to our waist, sweat every day. Any tips on how do we not have to wash your hair every day to get the sweat out?! My bangs get so greasy, the best I can do it every other.. please help!
It is good for your hair & skin, but for me, it makes my hair so soft that I can’t style it. To solve this, I need to rinse my hair in cold water to get the soft water out of it. Seems counterintuitive, but it works. Cold seals your hair cuticle, and makes it shiny too.
Yes it sure would I literally live surrounded by corn fields and my well had a very high iron and rust content.. it helps hair and skin.. took some getting used to though.. it leaves your skin like a film feeling on it your not “squeaky clean” anymore!!
Hi Chris nice to see you. I’m am quilts of a few things, but on your recommendation I did buy the Revlon blow dryer, it’s hot, so much easier. Happy Halloween 🎃👻🧡🎃🧡
Thank you so much for all your knowledge and tips! I appreciate your straight forward approach without feeling like your trying to just sell product. I have gotten my routine down again and fallen in love with my hair again all thanks to you!! ❤
Thank you so much for Amazing advice. Your Trinity +Olaplex 3 just enabled me to go without cutting hair for over 5 M now and I already see I can reach the dream of having THE Long Hair 😃🤘Aand my formerly dry hair is getting compliments now. 💃🏻I have never learned from tutorials sth that enforceable in life . I wish you started some makeup and skincare as well, all seems super complicated in other channels and I only need such Trinities not a warehouse of chemicals ❤️😀 Sending kindest wishes from Tbilisi, Georgia 🫶
Always love your content and your honesty! My hairdresser was so shocked at how long and healthy my hair has gotten (all thanks to your advice and product recommendations)!!! Thank you for making great content so accessible 🙂
I have a rotating dryer brush with different size barrels that I love. The rotation adds a bit of tension that really helps with the styling. I love it so much more than the regular ones I’ve had.
Hi Chris, I have been using plastic-free solid shampoo bars and conditioner bars for a few years now. Could you make a video on your opinion about shampoo bars and conditioner bars?
Your videos are amazing! You could truly sell sand in a desert! Since last night I’ve already bought upon your recommendation: a silk bonnet, a hair dryer, a shampoo, a conditioner, two hair masks, a terry cloth shower cap, a velcro head band, a leave in conditioner, oh and the olaplex 3. I think I should stop before I go broke!! 😂😊
Just get some thread tape (teflon tape) to put around the nozzle before screwing on -- it helps against leaks. Not always needed, but a good assurance. 1-2 layers is just fine, lay it flat and run it with the threads: Righty-tighty
I love heartless curls. It's the only way to keep a curl in my hair. It'll last days. My favorite is still using a plush bathrobe belt. The satin ones like he showed here just don't stay in my hair overnight.
I have thick, course, long hair and a lot of it, and I’ve found the Revlon Vol. 2 version (the black and red one) of that brush works better and gets through that amount of hair easier than the original. I believe it has more heat settings as well. I’m good with a blow dryer and brush but just thought I’d share.
My stylist insisted I get one of those thick-tooth scalp-cleaning wet brushes. I have mixed feelings. It does give my fingers a break while shampooing with a sulfate free shampoo...but I think I just need to get the shampoo you recommend with sulfates which will make getting my hair clean much easier without the green scalp brush.
Interested in the water topic. Up front, and I've gotten really poor responses to this, but, I've been using Aquafina to wash and mist my hair. Idk man, but my hair, has been very soft and smooth since I've been playing around with the Aquafina.
I use the heatless curls, it works....but on wavy long hair, perfectly. I have that. But not sure how it will hold for others. The tool for scalp, works, but more for relaxing, having a migraine that stuff helps a lot, I have no strength to use my fingers then, but this helps, scalp, head, and neck, not sure if it works for other stuff, but for relaxing and getting rid of that headache , get it. just be careful if you have long and thick hair you can and will make knots if you do not section hair, be careful.
Dr. Dray, definitely. She does plenty of product videos, but she also tells you which products are the basic must have items. I don’t watch all of them but I know the acne scar videos list very minimal routines.
Question..... How do you effectively clean your blowdryer brush (like the Revlon one in thisvideo)? I have watched your video on cleaning your hair brushes but i wouldn't think you could soak this type. I have several because i have tried different brands & they tend to get dirty/oily. Thanks in advancea
I like the scalp scrubber contraptions, but I use them to give myself a head massage. I have carpal tunnel, so those things are helpful if my hands are bothering me
I love the Revlon for my long coarse hair, but I’ve noticed it can cause split ends over time. I use it on dry hair for a straighter look with beautiful shine and softness. However, I’m wondering if a Dyson or Shark might be gentler on my hair and better for its long-term health.
Ho can you please do a blow dry tutorial on Lesley ❤ I have curly hair like her and it look smooth the first day but gradually gets bigger day after day.. also how often does she wash it when she exercises? This kind of video pleaaaaaaase 😅 Thanks ❤❤ love the content

@@mellinika420 youtube keeps deleting my replies :( in case this one goes through:
Key words: mesh hair wrap
Shower head filter… had a hairdresser friend recommend one online. I bought it cause I have eczema and noticed a difference. Couldn’t find actual science but it definitely filtered out something.
I love these videos. So chock full of quality information!
And as a gal with a low budget, this video is especially helpful!
omg same
I use the AquaBliss filter on my shower. It’s a temporary solution until the plumber can schedule to put in my new filtration system.
In an older home with a very non-efficient single filter for well water.
My hair no longer holds the soap/gets greasy after I wash it.
I use that one also and I love it! I can definitely tell when the filter needs changing by how my hair gets stringy lol
I’m getting that silicone pad thing. I’m a flight attendant and I frequently throw my iron in my bag right after curling cuz I’m in a hurry
@blowoutprofessor please franchise your salon !!! We need you in TN !! Us curly girls need a solid blowout bar !!!!
Can I let my hair air dry for some time with the products that you recommend then blow dry it? 🤔
My hair is level 1
Those clips do work i bought them and it makes a big difference when you styling your hair thank you!
Your hair advice really changed my hair game
I don't like to blow dry my hair at all because it dries it out
hey @Blowout Professor, do you recommend any product instead of pureology color fanatic? Where I live, there's no way to buy it. Thanks!
Love my Revlon blow-dry brush
Love the robes curls on my long hair!!! Watched 1 TH-cam video tutorial and I was all set. The curls last for days after I spray them with that hairspray you recommend for straight fine hair. Thank you!!!!
Chris! Thank you so much for sharing your unsponsored knowledge! I feel like I can trust you. Since you used to be in the fitness industry, you know us gym rats that train and have hair to our waist, sweat every day. Any tips on how do we not have to wash your hair every day to get the sweat out?! My bangs get so greasy, the best I can do it every other.. please help!
I wonder if just getting a water softener for the whole house would help your hair and skin?🤷♀️
It is good for your hair & skin, but for me, it makes my hair so soft that I can’t style it. To solve this, I need to rinse my hair in cold water to get the soft water out of it. Seems counterintuitive, but it works. Cold seals your hair cuticle, and makes it shiny too.
It can mess up your plumbing by damaging gaskets.
Yes it sure would I literally live surrounded by corn fields and my well had a very high iron and rust content.. it helps hair and skin.. took some getting used to though.. it leaves your skin like a film feeling on it your not “squeaky clean” anymore!!
If you have hard water, yes it is helpful.
I just had mine installed yesterday and added a chlorine filter to it.
What about derma roller (needles) do they work for hair growth my dear? 🌻🌻💛💛
Can you try the new L’Oréal Elvive bond repair shampoo line, they have a pre shampoo at 12% 🤔
The last brush helps to diminish/prevent ingrown hairs in people with African hair texture.
Some shower filters do work. I actually test the water after installing, and each month thereafter. I use Aquabliss.
I am wearing my heatless curler now lol! Yeah it does take a few tries to get the hang of it, but I love how my hair comes out.
Best channel for good results! Thank you!🙏🏻
I’m actually quite proud that I have like 4 of the products you mentioned! Hahaha love your videos and thank you for the tips!!!
Just get some thread tape (teflon tape) to put around the nozzle before screwing on -- it helps against leaks. Not always needed, but a good assurance. 1-2 layers is just fine, lay it flat and run it with the threads: Righty-tighty
Could u recommend some products for removing dandruff and reducing frizzy hair?
I love heartless curls. It's the only way to keep a curl in my hair. It'll last days. My favorite is still using a plush bathrobe belt. The satin ones like he showed here just don't stay in my hair overnight.
URGENT:
I have extremely damaged hair (bleached) now I need YOUR opinion on HAIR DUSTING? As my hair has breaked off..
Ps. I loooove your videos
Pleeeeeaaaase blowout professor can you do a review about kerastase products pleeeease
I would never. My hairs to my butt and all they do is cause tangles.
Interested in the water topic. Up front, and I've gotten really poor responses to this, but, I've been using Aquafina to wash and mist my hair. Idk man, but my hair, has been very soft and smooth since I've been playing around with the Aquafina.
I love these tips! Caution: Folic acid is synthetic and some people cannot process it. You want folate or foods with folate.
Thanks for the suggestions, appreciate it. I've been using an Aquasana shower filter. Haven't done a ph test on it, so
I use the heatless curls, it works....but on wavy long hair, perfectly.
Can you please review the 'Hello Klean' shower filter? :)
Extremely informative, I'm very educational. And I love your humor Chris. Seriously, funny.😅😂
Thank u, Chris, I am wondering about hair supplements for healthy hair, should I buy biotin zinc, or iron, vit D., totally lost 😅 Chris please HELP 🆘
Thank you for your awesome videos!! Exactly when do you use hair oil?
I have one and it really does make a difference.
The revlon brush really fried my hair. I noticed a difference one I stop using it.
Best ever hair care I've ever gone through...true knowledgeable
Plz suggest whom to follow for minimalist authentic skincare
Dr. Dray, definitely. She does plenty of product videos, but she also tells you which products are the basic must have items. I don’t watch all of them but I know the acne scar videos list very minimal routines.
For actual science, LabMuffin Beauty is an actual cosmetic chemist with a no bullshit approach.
Thanks
Would surely watch
A dear friend swears by "The Shower Stick". It's a water softener and just under $300. Not exactly cheap but I would like to see a review.
Amazing video as always, Please test more water filters! 🫶🏻
I get my hairs wet all the time when washing my face.... I should try one of those
Wait to use the revolon hair thing your hair needs to be dry no ? 😅 wouldn’t your hair burn if it’s wet ? Should you use it on damp hair ?
Do you have any other recommendations for shampoo for air-dried fine hair? The IGK is proving impossible to find! Thanks for all the advice :)
This kind of video pleaaaaaaase 😅
Thanks ❤❤ love the content
