    I've been waiting for such a great Aussie roller coaster ranking video! Going through the nostalgia of rides that I went on as a kid. And oh god, do I share the same views on dreamworld's motor coaster and escape lmao. I'll definitely check out some of the higher ranking ones next time I'm at a themepark :)

    Australia has very quietly grown into a respectable player in the Theme Park industry. DC Rivals, Big Dipper and Leviathan can do that for ya!

    I have to say this is the best Australian roller coaster rankings video I've seen. 100% agree on your opinion on all of them. Brutally honest when required (great review of Motocoaster), and you state the pros/cons very well. Great video and excellently done! 👏👏👏

      I disagree. It has only one or two elements that hit and the rattle is insanely bad. Not to mention it’s a 30 second ride.

    • @stevenbrock899
      @stevenbrock899 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Each to their own but I would rate the new Big Dipper over Wild Mouse. I rode Big Dipper for the first time on last Saturday in the front and was surprised how smooth and fast it was for a small footprint and tyre launch. Maybe I was expecting the rattle after watching the POVs. It’s a favourite with the GP as everyone was excited when they came off and keen to go again. Then again I like Verkoma Boomerangs and SLCs so maybe I am a glutton for punishment.

    I rode the TNT at Gumbuya the other day, with my 6 year old nephew, given the height limit is only 110cm! He went on it 4 times! That thing is so smooth and such a great coaster for you to introduce the riding experience to young ones. Smooth, comfortable (the restraints are honestly out of this world!) and thrilling. Honestly, I love it so much, even as an adult, it was thrills all round, and that’s what we want. Well done to Gumbuya. It was the BEST to experience riding with our kids.
    But I agree too, DC Rivals will be hard to beat, I want to ride that thing every day.

    I love that Jet Rescue is so high! I was very surprised by the force of the first launch at first, it looks like quite a tame ride when you look at it stationary.
    I'm also surprised at Leviathan making number 2. I'd rate superman way higher personally, just from the force of the launch and the cool theming, even if the while ride seems short because you spend so much time inside going slowly.
    When I rode Leviathan earlier this month, it was EXTREMELY rattly, uncomfortably bumpy, and DEAFENINGLY loud on-board. Although it is a good ride overall.
    The green latern coaster (movie world) and storm coaster (Sea World) were both closed during my visit but I'm not so gutted given the superman, DC rivals, and Leviathan all topped them on your list 😎

    • @MajorBunghole
      @MajorBunghole 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I went on it last year and was surprised at how much of streaming pile of nothing this ride had become. So slow and just plain boring. My memory of it from quite a few years ago was of a fairly fun ride but not now. Thankfully it's out of service atm, maybe they should consider scrapping it altogether. Was very disappointed that Superman Escape is still out of action as it was in Feb 2023, was so looking forward to riding it again. Apparently they are having trouble with three pneumatic launch system and sadly the insane jet rescue coaster at Sea World was also out of action. DC's Hypercoaster, Steel Taipan, especially in the tailwhip seat, along with Leviathan are absolutely three of my favourites in Australia. That green coaster at Gumbuya World, is that not exactly the same as what was once at Dreamworld but painted red and called Buzz Saw?

    Bermuda was my excitement going to gold coast as a child the whole experience from the que theme and pre show was a great build up for the ride, then once you get on the revolving platform to board your boat and enter the volcano the effects, lighting, props and the heat of the volcano flame just before the final drip was second to none I don't think any theme ride since has come close to Bermuda triangle, Australian theme parks have a themed flume fear for future rides considering the unfortunate events at dreamworld. Would love to see a dark flume themed investment in Australian themeparks in future

  • @seugoi7460
    @seugoi7460 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    For me the gold coaster is up in the top 10. I love that thing, it’s not too rough mainly just the transition out of that second turn, but if u brace a bit it’s fine and from that point on the speed as you fly through the water park is great then into that turn and the transition there is tight. The gs hit so hard on that turn and release just as hard then the inversions are so intense, when it’s running well or a hot day that is a guaranteed grey out every time. To top it off the final turn into the breaks is a good bit of fun. It’s just such a charming ride with some really satisfying and intense positives and especially for an arrow runs pretty bloody well.

    • @MaloneysCoasters
      @MaloneysCoasters  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve definitely come around to it. For me, the layout is a little weird, and those janky transitions can be painful. But it’s way better with the vest restraints. I love the speed and force of it

    I’m interested to know more about your thoughts on Dreamworlds Motorcoaster, why it’s so bad and how you would improve it. I’ve been thinking about it lately and have come up with idea. 👉 Read Next

    • @themeparkaccount
      @themeparkaccount ปีที่แล้ว

      Now with Dreamworld soon to add the new Rivertown and the Motorcoaster being near by, I speculated a relocation and re-theming could turn it from a 1/10 to an 8/10. The rocky hollow log ride spot has been vacant for a few years now and I think by moving the Motorcoaster to vacant land would free up space for Rivertown and allow for a fresh start. 👉 re-theming

    • @themeparkaccount
      @themeparkaccount ปีที่แล้ว

      The Motorcoaster has potential to be re-themed to Australia’s very own V8 Supercars (sponsor) with a new colour scheme and new trains (car themed) making it a much more comfortable sit down ride. Also I heard you talk about how it was to tall, but that wouldn’t be a problem because V8 Supercars do gain air around corners. I could go on all day about it but I thought id just give you a briefing on why It has potential👍

    • @MaloneysCoasters
      @MaloneysCoasters  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Interesting thoughts. I’d like to do a video on Motocoaster at some point, but new trains would definitely improve one of my major criticisms which is the restraints. It could also solve the shuffle which has developed over the years, as well as the presentation and theming which looks awful nowadays.
      However I think the layout is just incredibly uninspiring. The launch is tame, the transitions and banking do nothing (which should be this coaster model’s biggest strength), and there’s no variety or thought put into it. I also did say it’s too high. If you compare it to Jet Rescue, one of JR’s big strengths is its near miss elements with the rock work which really intensify the sense of speed. Motocoaster is elevated and so despite being 2 km/h faster, it feels slower and more dull.
      All around, it’s just a bad coaster, and I’d rather see a new family coaster themed to Supercars than a revival of Motocoaster. It’s just a terrible ride, and it’s not just the trains unfortunately

    Why is there a lame wild mous over great coasters like the big dipper and the abyss i thought the list was about how good the coasters are not about the nostalgia persenly i would switch the abyss and the wild mous coaster around so the abyss is in the tenth place and after that I would switch the wild mous and the big dipper around so the wild mous was in whatever place the big dipper was in so the big dipper in eleventh place and the abyss is in tenth place.

      Let’s keep the tone respectful yeah? This list is about how good the coasters are, IN MY OPINION. I’m glad you like Dipper and Abyss 😊
      As someone who has ridden many coasters around Australia and in other countries, I can tell you something as unique as Wild Mouse doesn’t come along very often. Abyss is great but a headbanger, and Dipper’s layout is fairly mediocre and it rattles way more than it should. For me, they’re both great, but a 60-year-old ride that still holds up today is more impressive.
      Thanks for watching!

    • @MaloneysCoasters
      @MaloneysCoasters  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's had a shaky start, but that's quite common for new coasters, especially when they're as technically complex as Leviathan :) There are always teething issues that need to be ironed out, and staff need to get the hang of a new operating procedure.
      The longer it goes on, the more reliable it will become as operators and maintenance get the hang of the ride's quirks.
