    Many of the techniques shown in this video are incredibly similar to the techniques found in Fiore dei Liberi’s manuscript from early 15th century Italy. When it comes to practical sword techniques, simplicity and efficiency are what would keep the swordsman alive in dangerous situations.

    This is really cool. I have always been interested in finding a single edged katana-like sword that was longer than a regular katana and had a longer hilt for more power and range but I didn't want one as big as a nodachi. However, the Miaodao looks like it might be the exact type of sword I've been looking for! I will look into buying one soon and try to learn some basic techniques. The wide, powerful cuts are the exact type of fighting style I want to learn! Thank you for sharing :)
