Im 22 from california. This sport is my life, my religion, my air, my blood, my heart. And my dream is to play pro. I know people say "it's too late for you, you're 22" but i dont care what they say. This is what i wanna do. Im a right attacking mid. I want this more than anyone i have ever met. I overtrain myself when i weight lift, if i say im gonna do a 5 mile run, i do 6 instead, i strive to play harder than my opponent. Even if it leads to a yellow card. For me, there's no such thing as "what if". And the words "give up" dont exist to me. Giving up is for those who accept defeat. For those who wanna live their lives with a constant reminder of what they could have done. I know that if i become a pro, i'll look the doubters, and tell them that i proved them wrong. I know there's a chance for injuries. I have played with injuries before. I dont lay on the ground and think to myself "i dont wanna do this anymore" i get right back up and keep playing. The determination i have to do something i have played for over 11 years for a living is strong in me. It's not "i think i'll be pro" no! It's "i know i will be. No exceptions". That's the mindset i always need. It may seem arrogant to some, but they will understand. I know im probably rambling with this post, but this is what i feel. This is what i want. Everyday i wake up in the morning i feel lazy not wanting to do soccer, realizing that it will be hard and will take 10,000 hours to master. But 10,000 hours isnt always needed to be a world class. Just train personally everyday 1-2 hours a day, always feeling numb and tired when you come back inside your house. Consistency, mentality and motivation is all you need to be successful. I learned this the hard way. Work hard! Im 15 and yet i still have 3 more years till i can go to college. College is where i shine where i show my skills. Lets go.

I am 16 going 17 in 3 months from Arizona. This is my life, what everyday I wake up wishing i became pro, fighting, crying, bleeding, getting tired of myself. I know most of you watching have the same dream. Yesterday my school team played Gainst the defending state champ, since minute 20 we were losing, but in the 67 we tied, i am a keeper, i wanted to cry, i wanted to hug someone, i had so many feelings inside, and 5mins later we scored again. We were winning against the state champ i just wished my mom went to that game and see me play, she says i will never be pro, to put my feet on the ground and stop dreaming, i was doing so good. But just one minute later, they tied it was in a 2v1 no way I could've stop it. And well it happened again the 2v1, in a matter of 5mins we were losing 3-2. I kept my head up with hope of a miracle. But at the last 2 mins they scored of a corner, that right there made my cry and give up. Everyone was telling me it wasn't my fault, only the defense fault, but i am the keeper i am always the one blamed. I cried infront of friends, and even of my ex coach, I couldn't stop. Imagine being winning against the state champ and then it goes away, we were making history. I don't know what to do, i am confused. I have a fc tucson tryout not i big team but its a start to pro. They play against mls team and i could make a big jump. I am watching this videos because i will not let anyone say no to me! I am not doing it because the money nor the fame but for the kid who fell in love with the game...
I remember listening this a day before my tryouts for my high school team in 2015, and I could’ve never found a video that made me love my passion more than anything. The love I have for the game is higher than it was yesterday, but not as much as it will tomorrow! I am 22 now. I will never give up!
This is really true because in my city people have no idea about this sport it is just sad it almost makes me cry at how people just treat this sport like a thing that isn't even real.
This sport is my absolute passion. My dream has always been to play professional and people always tell me that I will never make it because it's to much work but I go out all most everyday to the soccer fields and I work for a minimum of 3 hours a day because I refuse to let other peoples negativity distract me from my dream. I have a message to all the kids, teenagers & young men who wanna be professional soccer players. Stay away from cigarettes, alcohol, drugs & nightclubs. Work hard as much as you can, take care of your body, eat the proper foods, and sleep 8 to 10 hours every night. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about, I made all the way to the top, by myself. Watched this back in 2014 and was motivated and worked harder than ever. I was 15 at the time and I had only a year left before my youth club stopped. I had trials for numerous elite teams (stepping stones to be scouted by professional teams) I always made it to the last few and would always fall short. After 16 college and a normal life caught up and I no longer play football. Just came across this video again and I'm in tears. Im 20 now and although I could still work hard to make it I have other ambitions like University. But deep down I still would jump at the chance to play football again competitively.
God is good, I was offered $11,000 for a soccer scholarship for a college 2,000+ miles from where I live. I had my second ACL surgery almost a year ago. Its been 2 years since I've been able to play, I decided to leave the offer and wait until I am fully recovered. My whole family is proud of me, I am the only one of the family with such a big talent. This isn't the end, this is my beginning. With god anything is possible, don't just dream... do it.

Everything gets started in high school. If you play good football in high school, you would get recommended, but you would need to be really good. By there you hope for a club to make you grow.

4 months ago I got an anckle injury that was serious, I was out with tore anckle ligaments. I was sideline for 4 weeks, and when I came back I started to play different. I wasn't hungry to play and I was scared and afraid to get hurt. I'm fully healed now but my anckle won't be 100% anymore, watching this video made me realize that that it doesn't matter. This was an optical that I had to over come and I did, I work to make my anckle stronger as much as I can. And when you work hard and grind someone will see, because of that I will now be playing for a college team in a couple of weeks, this video gave me more inspiration to go even harder, because I'm not alone trying to go pro...Rick Everything Ladies And Gentlemen Thank You For The Time

Thanks man tryouts start for me in 2 weeks. I'm nervous because it's about 50-70 people trying out and only 25 make it and my class of 2014 are the youngest to tryout so hopefully some of us make it I'll try my best!

kagiso bolaane sadly dude I lost passion. I still play for college. I'm 20, I still can try but at the moment I decided to focus on studying. I recommend you to watch 'become elite' his channel is awesome. I'm going to get a job that allows me to make 70k-100k a year and I decided to do this instead. Man you really got me , I use to procrastinate all the time in every sport that I play .. Always saying I'm going to do this early tomorrow morning to try and be the best and to excel . But I never did it and this summer me and my friend kris go to the pitch early every morning to do some drills and 1v1 , and he showed me your video and this really moved me . This is pure dedication , and this gave me a lot of momentum to exceed in the sport .. Soccer is my natural high and im in love with people call it a dumb pathetic sport until the y start playing it . its truly fun and i just love it .. its just so indescribable you know ...Hopefully I could practice with you sometime but you might not live in my area
your right... i'm not giving up on my dream, and i went from the worst player on my team to the best dribbler and 3rd best goalscorer and currently i mess up at passes less often than my team mates, been trying to improve my crosses so i don't mess up as much, and that's just in 1 year, passion, love, and above all else fun, as long as you have those 3 things you can achieve greatness. train, practice, have fun, and ignore those who think you can never make it.

I play for a D1 school in Wisconsin..this year we have taken 2ed in the state final this is the ending days of my sophomore year i was pulled up to play with varsity from being on junior varsity and the experience of state was un explainable since then it was no longer just a "hobby" soccer is now my life.. I train every day for my varsity career in the upcoming years i feel the same as you there is nothing that i would rather do then play pro.. Best video I've seen in a while. And from 0:35-0:41 I completely agree. I hate how almost no one in the US cares about the sport except for the people that play it. And me being one of those people it just annoys the living hell out of me when people say it isn't a big deal or it isn't a difficult/contact sport when it truly is. Considering in American football they have so many pads and pieces of protective crap and they say it is easier to get hurt playing that while when playing soccer/football you have shin guards and nothing else.

I only just got into playing soccer this year and I'm 16, its hard I wasn't even able to make high school varsity or jv team in 10th grade. I'm in 11th now and I feel its too late for me to be as good as others. My only wish is I had one do over and I got into it early and worked hard early and took the steps I needed to be an amazing player. Hey dude, i'm filipino too. I know that you're in a bad position having a hard time, but don't give up. In school, I get teased, and sometimes embarassed, but there is no shame in going after something you love. I've turned into some type of shy person just because I've been doing my own thing, chasing what I love. My parents are the same as yours, they tell me to focus more on academics and get into college with a full ride, but my homework time has turned into training time. I'd rather play the beautiful game than do my schoolwork, and if it pays off, it'll be worth it. Me and my older brother who plays college soccer are trying our hardest to train because in summer of 2015, when we go back to visit the Philippines, we're going to try out for the national team. And I'll tell you right now, when you see us in the future playing for the Azkals, you'll remember this.

I am 14 years old and I used to play from Toronto team and I suffered a knee injury and was out for 6 months. I got rejected for the team after and I currently don't play for a team. I want this more then anything. I lost all my friends for this sport cuz I'm to focused. I keep suffering injuries and I cry every time cuz there is nothing I want more. But after all this I started having doubts they say age is just a number but I'm wasting the most best age for developing cuz of injuries. No one believes I can make it but I will cuz even tho I sometimes doubt myself I will never give up. Wish me luck and remember the name.

But just one minute later, they tied it was in a 2v1 no way I could've stop it. And well it happened again the 2v1, in a matter of 5mins we were losing 3-2. I kept my head up with hope of a miracle. But at the last 2 mins they scored of a corner, that right there made my cry and give up. Everyone was telling me it wasn't my fault, only the defense fault, but i am the keeper i am always the one blamed. I cried infront of friends, and even of my ex coach, I couldn't stop. Imagine being winning against the state champ and then it goes away, we were making history. I don't know what to do, i am confused. I have a fc tucson tryout not i big team but its a start to pro. They play against mls team and i could make a big jump. I am watching this videos because i will not let anyone say no to me! Watched this back in 2014 and was motivated and worked harder than ever. I was 15 at the time and I had only a year left before my youth club stopped. I had trials for numerous elite teams (stepping stones to be scouted by professional teams) I always made it to the last few and would always fall short. After 16 college and a normal life caught up and I no longer play football. Just came across this video again and I'm in tears. Im 20 now and although I could still work hard to make it I have other ambitions like University. But deep down I still would jump at the chance to play football again competitively.
God is good, I was offered $11,000 for a soccer scholarship for a college 2,000+ miles from where I live. I had my second ACL surgery almost a year ago. Its been 2 years since I've been able to play, I decided to leave the offer and wait until I am fully recovered. My whole family is proud of me, I am the only one of the family with such a big talent. This isn't the end, this is my beginning. With god anything is possible, don't just dream... do it.

4 months ago I got an anckle injury that was serious, I was out with tore anckle ligaments. I was sideline for 4 weeks, and when I came back I started to play different. I wasn't hungry to play and I was scared and afraid to get hurt. I'm fully healed now but my anckle won't be 100% anymore, watching this video made me realize that that it doesn't matter. This was an optical that I had to over come and I did, I work to make my anckle stronger as much as I can. I recommend you to watch 'become elite' his channel is awesome. I'm going to get a job that allows me to make 70k-100k a year and I decided to do this instead. But I never did it and this summer me and my friend kris go to the pitch early every morning to do some drills and 1v1 , and he showed me your video and this really moved me . your right... i'm not giving up on my dream, and i went from the worst player on my team to the best dribbler and 3rd best goalscorer and currently i mess up at passes less often than my team mates, been trying to improve my crosses so i don't mess up as much, and that's just in 1 year, passion, love, and above all else fun, as long as you have those 3 things you can achieve greatness. train, practice, have fun, and ignore those who think you can never make it.

I play for a D1 school in Wisconsin..this year we have taken 2ed in the state final this is the ending days of my sophomore year i was pulled up to play with varsity from being on junior varsity and the experience of state was un explainable since then it was no longer just a "hobby" soccer is now my life.. I train every day for my varsity career in the upcoming years i feel the same as you there is nothing that i would rather do then play pro.. And me being one of those people it just annoys the living hell out of me when people say it isn't a big deal or it isn't a difficult/contact sport when it truly is. I only just got into playing soccer this year and I'm 16, its hard I wasn't even able to make high school varsity or jv team in 10th grade. I'm in 11th now and I feel its too late for me to be as good as others. My only wish is I had one do over and I got into it early and worked hard early and took the steps I needed to be an amazing player. But now I don't even know if its possible for me to get good enough to possibly even get scouted :/

Hey dude, i'm filipino too. I know that you're in a bad position having a hard time, but don't give up. In school, I get teased, and sometimes embarassed, but there is no shame in going after something you love. I've turned into some type of shy person just because I've been doing my own thing, chasing what I love. My parents are the same as yours, they tell me to focus more on academics and get into college with a full ride, but my homework time has turned into training time. I'd rather play the beautiful game than do my schoolwork, and if it pays off, it'll be worth it. Me and my older brother who plays college soccer are trying our hardest to train because in summer of 2015, when we go back to visit the Philippines, we're going to try out for the national team. I am 14 years old and I used to play from Toronto team and I suffered a knee injury and was out for 6 months. I got rejected for the team after and I currently don't play for a team. I want this more then anything. I lost all my friends for this sport cuz I'm to focused. I keep suffering injuries and I cry every time cuz there is nothing I want more. But after all this I started having doubts they say age is just a number but I'm wasting the most best age for developing cuz of injuries.
