- Here’s a long overdue showcase video of my Freehand Forgeworld Warlord Titan Valentine VII - Warhammer 40k 28mm scae.
I went into it only a bit in the video, but it’s not a standard Adeptus Mechanicus Titan Legion unit. This Warlord belongs to my homebrew Knight World Caelitus, which is just my more official name for 40k Bretonnia. I’ve always had a soft spot for the Bretonnians and their vibrant colros and various heraldry, so I decided to build my mass stockpile of Bretonnian Knights into a Warhammer 40k force with Sisters of Battle, Imperial Guard, and Imperial Knights.
The Warlord Titan is their centerpiece since it just looks like a bigger knight. And it was a chore and a half. Spread out over a year and soaking a lot of my freetime, but honestly worth it in the end. Freehanded panels cover most of it with only the marble being not-freehanded. It fits much better with the rest of the knights that way.
As for the freehand murals on this giant mech walker, they’re designed to be landscapes depicting the world. To get more into what the video says, there’s three Grail Guardians per capital city, and each one has its own theme based around the Feudal World’s three core beliefs: Faith, Valor, and Pride. This one is a Pride Titan, as in Pride over the world their heritage and dangerous world. Hence all the landscapes and dangers shown. As deadly as this shrine world is, the knights of Caelitus treasure its beauty and challenges for forging them into the greatest knights they can be. Means they’re exceptionally fearless and daring when on holy crusades for the Imperium and Ecclesiarch.
But that’s enough custom warhammer 40000 talk for one bio. It was a fun build and challenge, but never again. I got lots of other projects to finish alongside growing a variety channel.
There will be a better 4k video released once I finish a retrofit for this Titan that adds even more panels.
DD's Built Showcase: A playlist of finished miniatures, warhammer, lego, models, game designs, DIY, and other art creations that are deserving of a video showcase. These are usually short videos lacking any of my usual comedic bits so viewers can focus on the completed work as a whole. Often times these constructions are considered to be among the best of my works and definite masterpieces in my collection.

This was originally supposed to be in 4k but I reduced it to 1080p since I didn’t have quite as many non-vertical shots as I thought. This was originally done with Reels in mind.
After the warlord gets its retrofit, it’ll get a 4k showcase.
P.S. - In before someone calls it “overdone” again. It’s a giant Bretonnian Grail Knight: It’s supposed to be overdone.
Maybe the most beautiful miniature work I’ve ever seen. Stunning! That marbled texture is so good
I can personally point out a lot of better ones, but art's subjective. I appreciate the kind perspective!
That's not even a minature anymore its so huge lol
"Target that loyalist cur"
"Which one captain?"
"The large, pretty one"
This is mind blowing. The marbling effect is wonderful and the fine miniature scenes are incredible. Huge congratulations.
Thank you! It was a breath of fresh air to have it off the work table!
The pattern on the blue are so detailed! WOW!
(And the lighter parts are just... wow, speechless)
Damn the writing on that marble pattern… so crisp
Every single plate of armor is a master piece.
Just came across this. Level of detail is completely mindblowing, I had to pause multiple times and just take it in. 18k views on this is criminal
By Gork (and/or Mork) This is a thing of beauty. Watching this made me feel a number of emotions at the same time. Awe, with regards to your amazing talent, patience and perseverance. Motivation at wanting to learn to paint as well as you do. Jealousy at your talent. And despair at the mere shadow of a thought that I will never be as good as you
Thanks for the kind words, but I insist, others very much have the chance to reach this skill level! It's mostly a matter of well-aimed hard work and experience!
I still can't get over the raw attention to detail on display here. Like, forget tiny paintbrushes you're here with individual bristles.
I don't even wanna think about doing something with just a single bristle
Its The most beautiful warchamer 40k warlord Titan wath i seen in my whole life its just Perfect
My dude. I still can't get over your artwork. I remember coming across your Instagram due to this beast. Very talented bro.
Epic! Congratulations on pushing through such a project
WOW!
NOW THIS IS ART!
This is…astonishing. Beauty beyond words❤
Man, this is the kind of stuff that makes me want to quit because I know I will never be as good lol. AMAZING job man, this genuinely may be the best titan I have ever seen.
Thanks! I know the first part wasn't entirely true, but it's part of why I'm still working on that Freehand course to be released later this year. To prove that others can make some crazy things if they know how to approach it correctly!
@@DDBuilds Cant wait to see it :)
@@DDBuilds I hope you finish that freehand course soon!
A beautiful work of art be proud.
banana for scale really showcases how painstakingly small and precise all of this is
No words for how mind blowing this is
Holy terra.. This piece is insane, chapeau!
I've been following this project on Instagram for a while , but it's truly incredible to see it completed. This has to be one of the finest examples of freehand miniature painting out there! Love your lore too, would love to see more of your collection!
Thanks a bunch! I designed all the lore prior to making them so they'd make great guidelines for painting/basing the army. Maybe some day I'll throw the army showcase once I grow their variety
That's... awesome, I'm totally speeechless, absolutely gorgeous!
OMG
Wonderful work, really well done man.
the blue viking esque inscription, waves is fucking beautiful. i am in awe of what has been done this day. best paintjob i have ever seen model, paintings any art medium
The detail work may be the best I've ever seen. Great job and beautiful Titan!
this is truely beautifully a masterpiece
Stunning freehand dude! What an epic paint job 👌💜
This is one of the best paintjobs I've ever seen. Very talented dude.
only 2k subs. this guy deserves so... so... much more!
holy shit, this might be the best painted miniature I have ever seen!!! Congrats dude well done.
I'm constantly impressed by some I think are better, but thanks for the kind words!
Stunning work!
This is the most beautiful and visually stunning model I've ever seen. Amazing job, you've truely created a priceless model
Incredible work
This this is why I'm getting in to miniatures I know I don't have a super real eye for details but you do and I'd love to see more of the army thank you for showing us this
Thanks for always coming by bro! Got a few more special tutorials up my sleeve!
this is beautiful
Mindblowing
Niceeeeeeeeee, great detail and craftmanship
Holy throne! Praise the omnissiah! Parade armour ready! This thing is freaking stunningly gorgeous! 12/10, Potentially of the best works I’ve ever seen and one you instantly know a video or photo can never do justice. Truly inspiring. Love seeing titans painted to a caliber they deserve. Can I ask you how long this took from start to completion? My warlord took me almost 2 years and my nemesis a year longer and still no end in sight
Thanks for the kind praise! Roughly 13 months from the very start to finish, but there were several months where I put it to the side to work on other painting projects. When I did focus it soaked up all the free time though! I hope your Nemesis turns out amazing!
All that freehand is amazing.
Gorgeous
Looks absolutely amazing.
Brah... I have a feeling that you are at the same level like the most recognizable mini painters out there. Probably even better at some aspects.
I would say that your creativity is somewhere near Saturn orbit.
I really hope that some day you will get hundreds of thousands subs or even more because you truly deserve it
That'd be a wild time, that's for sure. I can't say I feel like I can be put on a podium besides legends like Jose Da Vinci, Vince V, Sam Lenz, Flameon, etc, but thank you for the kind words!
Well done, sir!
Thanks for stopping by bro!
this is to a warlord titan as a venerable dreadnought is to a dreadnought. the Venerable Warlord titan
Never thought of it that way! Thanks!
Fantastic
Congratulations! I am amazed by the level of detail of the whole painting of the model and artwork on the armour! Really enjoyed watching this! Out of pure curiosity: The artwork is freehand as I understand, but did you painted that first e.g. on a paper for your reference before the final job (or used any reference at all), or went on and directly painted it? Just asking because it seems so challenging to scale it in such detail. The result is stunning!
Absolutely the level I want to reach
May your ambitions be realized!

Amazing work!
Please tell me your putting this out for a competition because its absolutely gorgeous
Possibly - I honestly believe it'd get its butt kicked in something like Golden Demon, and I don't really make models with winning any competition in mind. Plus it's a pain in the butt to move around haha
Awesome just awesome.👍🏾
sick!
just wow
I think the bases on the army need a bit of work, maybe grass and tufts. They look a bit too flat. But the knight is amazing!
The marble tiling is ordinary for the same reason there's no weathering on any of Wave 1: They're designed to be on parade in city square. Future waves are anything goes!
The pattern on the blue, is that freehand, or some form of stencil? I actually have a warlord kit on the way and this example was huge contributor to my finally pulling the trigger on getting one.
speechless
If I was gonna build and paint one final thing, it would be a Warlord Titan
Do you do commissions would love something like this
Jaw Dropped
Well God dayum.
That real Art i love it... the true and pure ability of craftsmanship. Not like that trash of todays "Art" where you throw paint at a wall for 500 billion
wow
I rang the bell 🔔
You're a Saint and I appreciate you

How do you do the marble effect?.
