Niall is good. The only reason why it kind of sucks because dear fromsoft for some reason put the most aggressive and strongest enemy in there with him. For some reason.
(Still, those guys are a joke so long as you use a strength weapon.)
At least he was one of those guys that grew on me.
you're basically fighting each of them one on one too since Niall is super passive when his summons are active and the sheild summon is quite passive when the other summon is active.
Commander niall is too underated.
No gaming series has so many boss ranking than the souls series, just proof how impactfull they are

You guys are hilarious! Do certainly not agree with each placement, but that's inevitable when taking on such a massive project. If you were to do the list again, you'd probably get a different result each time :D Looking forward to seeing the rest of the list! Great content.
I have to disagree with the valiant gargoyles. The fight SUCKS but the individual movesets of the gargoyles are fun and well designed (apart from the poison, god). Gank squad is FAR worse. The delayed attacks do not feel unnatural in my opinion either, they feel fine. For example at 15:48 it obviously isn't preparing to swing, it's just doing a pose, it's the telegraph for the combo attack. The actual swings come after and they aren't delayed at all. The game assumes you're not so dumb as to roll as soon as you see the boss do anything. The whole complaint about delayed attacks in ER has always been very overblown in general. I don't get it.

Great video, Guys! Managing a ranking of this size is impressive, and you're doing an excellent job with it. The Gank Squad always reminds me of a similar (but even worse) fight from the final act of Diablo II. There, you likewise have to battle three warriors at once, but the arena doesn't have enough obstacles to separate them from each other and you're working with a point-and-click control scheme and isometric viewpoint. This wouldn't be such a problem if you chose a ranged class, but, playing as a barbarian, it was awful. I spent an eternity kiting them around the arena, slowly whittling away at their HP, one by one.
I wouldn't feel bad about being overleveled for certain bosses. I often do that with these games, with one of the prime examples being Malenia (whom I fought at level 192 or something). Did it make the fight significantly easier? Yes. Do I regret doing it this way? Not at all. That's one of the main reasons I find Sekiro the hardest of these games, since you can't simply level-grind to give yourself an edge against a tough boss. It's similar to Hollow Knight in that regard (and the Blasphemous games, too, although I personally find them easier by comparison).

Loving the content and your write-ups are hilarious as ever, but not gonna lie - the Yharnam Queen placement hurts a little. I think she's tremendously underrated. Lore is on point, moveset is fun and varied and the arena is pretty great as the culmination of your progression through the giant labyrinth underneath the city.
Still, never gonna agree with all of the placings so keep up the great work!

Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen definitely has some of the most interesting lore of any of the bosses in Bloodborne, especially since Mergo is essentially the game's version of The Dunwich Horror.
Frostbite increases incoming physical damage. It's actually pretty effective in Elden Ring
I'd say Astel is way too low and Maneaters are way too high but that's my personal opinion. Still good video guys. Looking forward to seeing where the Rotten ends up because that seems to be a boss people have liked more as time has gone on.
Halflight, while not a great boss, has a top 5 OST in DS3. If you are in that covenant, you don’t have to hang around his arena to be summoned.
Also, Ancient Wyvern is the worst DS3 boss for me. At least to get to fight Halflight, not some one-hit plunging attack.
The one thing that Ceaseless Discharge has going for him is his great lore

I agree with Wolnir. My first clear of him took forever getting griefed by mist and skeletons. Pretty much every time since I just body him easily so he’s either terrible and unfun or boring and unremarkable. Looks cool tho

This was a great vid and I’m glad you guys are willing to express your true feelings on bosses even if they contradict the majority’s feelings. (Though I am also surprised people defend Gideon Offnir. He’s not terrible but well deserving of his placement. I think Malenia also deserves to be there but that’s just my hatred for her talking) Also Jack’s right, FUCK NIALL. I purposely use a glitch every time I want to defeat this dude because dealing with him naturally is a headache I don’t want to experience again.

Cannot disagree with too many of the placements here, other than maybe seeing Astel this low I'd say he'd prolly land in the upper half of my own list but you bring up some good points. A lot of what would populate the lower rankings for me would be anyone that's basically mindless fodder or actively unfun, and a lot of these bosses fit the bill lol. Demon's Souls has far and away the worst boss roster in the whole series and the best boss (False King Allant or Penetrator) wouldn't even crack the top half of my ranking simply cause From Soft had gotten so much better at designing bosses after that point. It doesn't surprise that there's a ton of DeS, DS1, DS2 and Chalice Dungeon representation in this video, and while DS3 is my favorite game of all time I'm not gonna argue with Ancient Wyvern being a bottom barrel "boss" (but Wolnir would be a bit higher for me lol). The worst that DS3 has to offer is better than 90% of the shit that came before it
While DS3 isn't my absolute favorite FromSoft game (on account of the quality of the areas), it has far and away my favorite boss roster of any of their titles.
Ok I'm not gonna try to argue that Commander Niall is a good fight, he isn't, but you are overblowing how bad he is to a laughable extent. First off, he doesn't even attack you or do anything really when his summons are active, he just edgewalks you, and the shield one will hardly engage you until the other one is dead, so it's basically just three 1-on-1's. And secondly, you have a crap ton of opportunities to attack him, even with a colossal, I have no idea how you would find that you have no chance to attack him, unless you aren't using jump attacks or are only attacking him when he goes into a neutral state. There's one follow up attack he does all the time that is super easy to bait out and gives you a free hit, the one at 32:55.
also, the banished knights are fun, I'm gonna say this: get good.

I would've put Elden Beast in one of the first 2 parts, that fight is dogshit.
it does suck a little but if you have some patience it can be decently fun. elden stars is probably the worst attack in the game (worse than waterfowl dance cause at least that one is fun to dodge once you get good at Malenia).
@@anonymous01201 I could also make a game out of spotting faces in my popcorn ceiling if my life was so devoid of fun that I had to start pretending constantly chasing a boss across an arena the size of Liechtenstein was enjoyable, I'm confident that you were meant to ride Torrent in the fight and some asshole on the development team shot the idea down
@@youngkappakhan Elden Beast wouldn’t really work with torrent if you think about his moveset. Running after him all the time for a few hits is pretty annoying yeah. I think it’s an exaggeration to say it’s all your doing though cause you’re still dodging all its shit and I’m sorry to break it to you but dodging is like 60% of what you do in combat in these games. And Elden Beast’s moveset is pretty fun to dodge other than fucking Elden Stars. Still a crappy fight though. I think they should have given it a larger close range kit so for melee-focused builds the fight is divided between a close range fight and closing the gap instead of 80% chasing it and 20% being able to attack it.
@@anonymous01201 It's just a chicken or the egg debate at that point but his moveset should be designed around Torrent nevertheless if 90% of the fight is just going to be running. It's also thematically better to have the companion that was with you the whole game accompanying you at the end.
I think Torrent generally had potential to be worked into boss fights in cooler ways, but there's nothing you can really use him for aside from f*re g*ant and shitty field bosses.
@@youngkappakhan Yeah agreed. You would need to completely start Elden Beast’s moveset from scratch though and buff a few attacks like the fire attack so that the fight doesn’t become a joke.
Also probably the reason they haven’t ranked Elden Beast low is because it’s the same fight as Radagon, and Radagon is great.
