- Hey everyone, in today's video we both rank the bosses of Demons Souls based on their quality from worst to best! It was our first time commentating on the same video and we're happy with how it turned out. As always, we hope you enjoy the list. Wow, I'm surprised you guys both had Armor Spider dead last! I actually love the atmosphere of that boss and enjoy dodging her moveset. My top three are False King Allant, Tower Knight and Penetrator in no particular order.

Armor Spider is in my top 3 haha. Maneater is somewhere last, not because it’s difficult, but mainly because their AI is shiii
I'm honestly stunned Flamelurker wasn't the top spot. It's one of the hardest fights without being unfair. The soundtrack, the atmosphere... it's so grand.
I would put the Man-eaters close to the bottom if not the bottom. I hate the idea of gank bosses as they seem kinda lazy, especially in this case. And the AI was really a problem for me. It took me so long to get close to beating them only for the second man-eater just to glitch into the wall with one or two hits left on him, making it impossible to finish without restarting the whole fight.
yeah, we ended up remaking this video later and the maneaters suffered a good deal in our ranking
Finding out fool’s idol is considered the easiest boss for most people was the biggest hit to my ego. I played through the game for the first time recently beat flamelurker and maneaters first try and most other bosses but ended up dying like ten times to the fool’s idol because I accidentally gave the world black tendency and if I stepped on the floor trap on accident it was an instant kill since I spent my souls on grass instead of leveling up. It was a series of bad decision after bad decision that made it much more difficult than it should have been.
On a side note I played the ps3 version so it’s crazy how much less intimidating old king allant seems in the remake almost like his sword beams pack less of a punch though the storm king looks ten times as cool
Yeah the King is a bit more obviously just an old dude now, and his beams look less hefty. Definitely a big upgrade for the Storm King though. Brutal stuff with the Fools Idol too, thatd definitely make it trickier. Cheers!

Love to see a unique ranking on the bosses. Everyone loves to put the Maiden at the top and even if I understand the impact on the story it had for some players, it was not a fun fight lol. Gameplay comes first for me.
I haven't gotten my hands on the remaster yet, no PS5 to speak of out there it seems, but even in the original, I loved the Storm King. The joy I felt when I found the Storm Ruler and started hacking away was immeasurable. It's cool to see the QoL updates to the visuals elevated the fight to #1 status for you guys.
Thanks man, and we agree 100%. Story is a great aspect but gameplay always takes the cake. Also yeah, Storm King is brilliant in this game. He was great in the original but this felt so inspired. Thanks so much for checking us out man we really appreciate it!

In my opinion is a pretty cool boss, simple but cool.
My least favourite is Dragon god because the fight is a hide and seek game xD

Alex here, I'd definitely put him lower after playing the game a couple more times lately. He's more lame than actively annoying so I still think he's not the worst of the worst, but calling him anything other than a worthless roadbump is overly flattering
Jack here, I think I’d put him lower as Alex said retrospectively. We try our best to not cave to public opinion though so common community placements aren’t as common in our rankings.

Armored Spider is one of the easiest to cheese though, you can just stand in an unhittable zone in the hallway and use sorcery/bows to whittle his health down. That kind of shows how frustrated I got with him after dying 3 times to the annoying cobwebs
fair enough but for a boss ranking that’d be pretty unfair comparison, also boring and generally not the best gameplay compared to fighting it how it was intended to be fought - jack
@@Cytonox Oh no, my point is that I got so pissed off with the impossible attacks and spider webs that I resorted to cheating to win the fight, so I agree with the number 18 spot
A lot of these bosses can be cheesed with arrows. I played demon souls when it first came out for PS3 and I did exactly that to them because it was my first souls game
Thoughts on the ranking:
Armour Spider: I think this boss is decent, it's webs can be annoying but it's easy to dodge,so I don't mind it, and it's lava is cool.
Dragon God: This is the worst fight in Demon's Souls imo, it's incredibly disappointing and it's likely the spawn for bosses such as Bed of Chaos.
True King Allant: Lorewise, this fight is an S, mechanically it's an F.
Maiden Astraea and Garl Vinland: I think it's okay mechanically, it's so hard to fall in the lake, and Vinland does have cool things to do, also, the suicide mechanic is pretty unique.
Leechmonger: Cool design and arena. That's it.
Old Monk: NPC version is boring, but the player version is really cool.
Fool's Idol: It's like if Pinwheel wasn't a pushover, but jokes aside, I really like this fight, the ost in the remake is amazing, and I like the multiple ways in which you can tell it's the real one.
Phalanx: The people who say this boss sucks because it's easy are idiots, it's your first true boss, of course it's easy. But anyway, I like this fight, just because of the Phalanx formation.
Vanguard: Pretty standard tutorial boss, it's the father of the Asylum Demon pretty much, but I like the reward you get for killing it.
Adjudicator: Someone who doesn't think this boss is garbage, finally. I've always found him underrated, though with magic, this boss is a joke.
Tower Knight: I think this boss should have been higher personally, he's pretty good mechanically and there's amazing spectacle.
Dirty Colossus: I always have trouble remembering this guy, he does have cool design in both attacks and visuals, and his theme would be great if it weren't for the choir.
Old Hero: It's a cool gimmick without the Thief Ring.
False King Allant: I hate his soul sucking move, but everything else is great, I love his huge AOE.
Penetrator: Bit of a joke for the point you likely face him at, but he's fun to fight so I don't care.
Flamelurker: This is my favourite fight in Demon's Souls, he's difficult but fun and fair, he looks awesome, he has an amazing theme in both versions and it just feels like a brawl.
Maneaters: I don't enjoy these two as much as you do because they spend more time flying in the air than they do actually fighting mr, but overall, they're fun, although I actually prefer the visuals for the original one, seeing those green eyes in the shadows is creepy.
Storm King: This is pure spectacle and I love it for that, even if the mechanics aren't the best.

I just finished demon souls (ive only played elden ring before this), and i disagree with alot of this list, armored core spider was a great starter boss, you cant brute-force it with dps, you have to dodge the webs or die. You must run away if it does the oil fire attack. What makes it very painful is the run back after dying tho, which is a general problem with the game.
Dragon god was a good boss too, i died like 15 times but it isnt focused on attacking as much as maneuvering. P2 where you attack the horn while its low hp is intentional bait. It wants you to lower your guard as if the fight is done and can kill you still.
True king allant was the worst, it was totally anticlimactic, depending on the route you took, theres a lack of cohesiveness or climax in the end.
Old monk was a decent boss, felt like pvp
This video starts off with the worst opinion and had completely shattered my suspension of disbelief so hard that it never recovered
The maneaters, firelurker, leechemonger, stormking, and dirty Colossus were too easy to beat lol

Is my list.
I don't hate Armour Spider at all. Old Hero is disabled if you happen to wear a certain ring, Dragon God is contrived shite and nothing like a Souls boss. All that said Maiden Astraea is just a turtling shit tank in a telephone box. Did that Gawd awful boss give someone the idea for Capra Demon? Terrible design!!!
Flamelurker for me is easily the best boss in the game. Penetrator could have run him close, but unfortunately the dance is spoiled by the limitation of the animation tells being too easily exploited. At least his semi-success led to Artorias and the Abyss Watchers. Maneaters were good and far better than what came after with Bell Gargoyles in Dark Souls. Storm King is a brilliant set piece, and very cinematic, but very limited from a gameplay perspective. The final boss is very good in that it is a non fight, it feeds into the law brilliantly. False King Allant is a bit cheesy with his Soul grab, glad the series backed away from that mechanic, otherwise he's really good.
All the above said: the best thing about Demons Souls relates to the level design, the lore and the world building, not the bosses.
