  • Tekla Structures has an easily modified catalog of steel shapes. In this video we will look at the basics of creating customized fixed profiles, and simple custom parametric profiles. For more complex shapes, you may want to consider importing a cross-section instead as shown in a previous tips and tricks video here: www.tekla.com/us/resources/vi...

Hi, Can you help me converting default Tekla Plate profile eg. PL1/2*20 to PL1/2x20.

HOW DOES THAT BOX WHERE THERE IS AN EXISTING MEMBER BOX APPEAR TO YOU? IT DOESN'T APPEAR TO ME. CAN YOU TELL ME WHY? I AM USING TEKLA 2023. IS IT BECAUSE IT IS A CUSTOM PROFILE?

FOR TEKLA'S OWN COMMERCIAL PROFILE, HOW DO YOU TELL IT THAT IT IS EXISTING AND IT BECOME GRAY?

This is localized in the US environment as a User-defined attribute. I'm not sure if other areas are set up the same.

    Great video as always Dave.
Do you have any videos pertaining to making parametric expanded metal profiles or possibly wire mesh?

Parametric? No. Only the fixed type as I show in my "Items" video. The only "parametric" option (and I use that term loosely) we would have that I can think of is to use a custom surface treatment on a plate.

Thank you for the quick reply, I guess I will just keep using plate profiles.
