I really love that cupcake trick, take aside that it's easy to work out how it's done, what's better is that delivery. I'm not a professional magician, but I do love magic and do some card tricks for friends, and when that one bit of card fell out of the napkin, I was totally onboard with him that that was a mistake, I love that the trick came good in the end like that. Brilliant! :)
A nice type of trick deck will have one type of card, in this case the 4 of diamonds possible, that's every other card and a little shorter than the rest. That way when the magician ruffles the deck, the top card will always be the trick card. Very nifty and useful. Long Live Magic!!!
There's a hidden pouch in the napkin, the pieces of the card go in that pouch and the piece that falls is the piece from the card that was already baked into the cupcake. If you watch at 4:03 you can see him make sure he's holding both sides of the pouch before he lets the napkin fall. The trick is just making sure that the card Ellen draws is the same as the card he's already baked into the cupcake.
I think he put the same card in all the cupcakes, with a little bit torn off, somehow he made it disappear inside the bag.... But I was totally blown away by the first trick!
hahahhahaha! well... you are the detective now! hahahahah! we cant blame them tho.. a show is a show is a show!! you really need to get the viewers goin.. or else THE show dies... but honestly, i was entertained there! hahahah! esp the tweet trick!
exactly . ellen actually never tears the card into a rectangle shape. when she puts all the torn parts in the there. the rectangle shape has already been inside that. so when he unfolds it. the already placed rectangle shaped part of the card drops down and he acts as if its a mishap or something went wrong to surprise the audience in the end . i can tell you for sure all the cakes have exactly same 4 of diamonds in them with a little rectangle shape torn on the edge.
Anyway, I got a tweet from him yesterday and my heart melted; he said that I was the sweetest. It made me smile from ear 2 ear. I told him something funny and he liked it :P
He does a card force (making Ellen pick a certain card). So the 4 of diamonds wasn't free choice. There are a number of forces but i can't tell which one he used from the video. Then the rest is simple. He pockets the cards instead of putting them in the bag and with his other hand drops in the corner of the 4 of diamonds. The card was already prepped inside the cupcake.
The card trick is easy. He basically forced the 4 of diamonds on her. He had a pinky break right there, and wherever Ellen would've said stop, he would've lifted the cards from his pinky break and it would always be 4 of diamonds. The remaining is now self explanatory as he already planned a duplicate 4 of diamonds in that cupcake, and that black sack too also had some secret compartment where all the torn pieces went into.
I think what weston is saying is that Justin can palm the 4 off let ellen shuffle then put the card back on top and then force the card to make it more impossible.
ikr i mean i thought that there were som other card in that cake. but the only part that wasnt on that card was that pieace O_O and it fited perfectly O_O
Wrong, its a force shuffle or a slip shuffle. in the beginning he makes sure the top card of the deck is a 4of diamonds. when ellen said stop he used a sleight of hand to give her the top card (look for force shuffle or slip shuffle tutorials if you want to know how)...and he later vanished all the pieces of ellen's card and the little part he didnt vanish was precut so that it would fit all the 4 of diamonds who were in each of the cupcakes
Idk if im right or not. But i think as he's going to walk up to the lady who gives him the dollar. you can see him reach into his pocket possibly for HIS OWN dollar that he originally had but switched it. which of course the cotton ball and "mustache" possibly the peices to the hair and mustache on the dollar when he quickly takes outs and puts in his pocket.
Seriously people -.- the card trick is supposed to work that way. The only piece that didn't disappear is supposed to be "proof" that he transferred Ellen's card into the cupcake. Otherwise people would think that he put it there before the show.
He is very handsome and he's coming to my area to do his show...that's all. By the way, you probably think he's old now being that he'll be 32...I mean who cares.
How can you figure all this out? Honestly, I've done a card trick like this before and it's really simple. But having your audience guess how to do it steals your thunder. But what I will say is that one of you actually guessed right. Who did I won't say....
ive watched a similar trick, but a signed banknote appeared in an orange that time, an uncut orange. anyone knows how to do that? is it possible that that guy squeezed it through a really small cut?
The dollar bill is worth more than a dollar with Ellen's signature on it
Celine Shaw and with the wig removed of course.
i love magic so much i never try to figure out how they do it.

I laughed when he told Ellen to check her back pocket. I also, want a cupcake after watching this vid!

Yes he is, and I can't wait to see his show. Just know he's a lot cuter in person

You have to admit...he's pretty damn good, and funny...Those are the best kind of illusionists :)

I think what weston is saying is that Justin can palm the 4 off let ellen shuffle then put the card back on top and then force the card to make it more impossible.

Wow Mr magic walking around with his PHD in magic
Where did you think you were going Bonnie? lmao
HE WENT TO MY HIGH SCHOOL!
I hate it when people try to explain a magician's trick. I mean, why can't you just enjoy it without having to question it?
ikr i mean i thought that there were som other card in that cake. but the only part that wasnt on that card was that pieace O_O and it fited perfectly O_O
He even knew who I was and even waved at me. Justin is a lot sexier in person. I love him :P

Ellen should invite Dynamo, he's the real deal.

All the cards was 4 of Diamonds?LOL,thats funny.

I would eat that cupcake completely before realizing that there was a card inside.
Idk if im right or not. But i think as he's going to walk up to the lady who gives him the dollar. you can see him reach into his pocket possibly for HIS OWN dollar that he originally had but switched it. which of course the cotton ball and "mustache" possibly the peices to the hair and mustache on the dollar when he quickly takes outs and puts in his pocket.
she clearly doesn't rip the card like that
he is really cute and attractive and cool and ... i think i'm in love....
Seriously people -.- the card trick is supposed to work that way. The only piece that didn't disappear is supposed to be "proof" that he transferred Ellen's card into the cupcake. Otherwise people would think that he put it there before the show.
this guy is awesome. i cant figure out how he did it.
I saw him put something in his back pocket

He is very handsome and he's coming to my area to do his show...that's all. By the way, you probably think he's old now being that he'll be 32...I mean who cares.
lol i thought that too!
this guy was on the suite life on deck too right? as a magician as well
all card are actually 4 of diamonds and all cup cakes have a 4 of diamond inside them.
...and here I thought I was the only one that noticed that.
I've seen him do this trick before, it was supposed to drop he didn't mess it up jeez
How can you figure all this out? Honestly, I've done a card trick like this before and it's really simple. But having your audience guess how to do it steals your thunder. But what I will say is that one of you actually guessed right. Who did I won't say....
they could have forged the signature on the bald George dollar bill
good explanation .. but what if she picked a different cupcake than the one he was hoping for?
Plus, in almost every card trick he does, it's a four of diamonds.
NO! HE DIDNT! woooow! that's pretty awesome! ur superlucky! BTW how old r u?
ive watched a similar trick, but a signed banknote appeared in an orange that time, an uncut orange. anyone knows how to do that? is it possible that that guy squeezed it through a really small cut?
no it can be done with a normal deck of cards even shuffled if the magician is good enough.
