    I always wonder why someone would come into a vlog like this and give it a thumbs down, her vlogs are always so upbeat and lovely, I don't understand this and wish someone would explain why they would give this a thumbs down.

    • @NegraBendita
      @NegraBendita 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      some trolls just like to thumbs down for no reason at all.

      Khandi Mchale Okay, it just seems so stupid. I've stopped following people because I either lose interest or they do something I don't like but I don't go in and give them thumbs down and what's not to like about Charly's vlogs, she and Annie just put me in a happy place and to tell you the truth I'm a very old woman, I'm never going to do what they do but I love that they do what their doing.

      Yahh, in Vietnam it depends on what the item is you are buying! For example, 35,000 dong *(Vietnamese money is called 'dong')* would be $1.54. But if you buy a bowl of hot wings for 35,000 dong it is considered expensive if its good food or they provide you 10 or 8 hot wings.

    AHHH you're in VN! Maybe you mentioned this somewhere and I didn't catch it, but are you in Ho Chi Minh City or somewhere else? It would be so awesome to have a meet up! Vietnam is a pretty awesome place for vegans cause we traditionally don't cook with a lot of dairy or eggs, so most "vegetarian" (chay) foods are actually vegan. Generally, if you go to a local "cơm chay" place (pretty common), you can have a delicious, traditional, and cheap vegan rice meal! Saigon has an extremely rich and fast-growing food culture, so there is always something new for everyone! ALSO do not forget to explore the different types of chè (Vietnamese dessert soup) -- this is essential. Just want you to know that I love you and Annie so much and hope you have a lot of fun here!

      naturallyme It's funny. When I visited Vietnam this year, the locals actually treated me like some type of celebrity and wanted to take pictures with me and everything. I think it was more of an adoration of an ethnicity that is rarely seen there. Honestly, I saw VERY FEW black people there; so I understand the concept.
      As for that negative comment from that old lady.... Meh.. You just can't let 1 person ruin your spirits or taint your positive vibe.

      OMG SO TRUE!!! I went with Korea Air last year to Vietnam and the Korean people at the airport and the flight attendants were so rude! They refused to give my grandma a wheelchair! WTF We had to wait 1-2 hours for it after we keep requesting for it. Never again would ai use Korea Air. Super racist. Also on the plane, we pressed the service button and they asked what we wanted and we told them (water/coke) then they disappeared for like an hour and never showed up until we pressed it again.

    Charlie, The flat is beautiful...although I am subbed I don't seem to get alerts on you new videos enough. IDK why. I seem to mostly see your videos out of order, so that's pretty crazy since you travel all over. I can't keep up lol! So... I do not even know yet (until I go to your home page to properly catch up) if you are still there or not!I
    I always enjoy your videos! It amazes me that you moved to Vietnam without a job lined up...you guys are so brave! 😍😍 That would be very scary to some people! I am curious, don't you need a work visa to move abroad? Or even a visitation visa (that is limited). Or does Vietnam allow you to move there with no job/no work visa lined up.
    I know some countries allow you to stay on an extended visit (maybe this is what you did being Annie's family is from there) is that how you get to do that?
    I am sorry this is so long, but I am so fascinated. I know many people teaching abroad go through an agency, to get at least their first (few) job(s). I have also watched videos, where many people struggle to get paid, because some schools treat their teachers better than others.
    Had you taken the job, would you end up going through an agency / where you achieved your certification from to be accountable? Also would you have had to obtain a work visa (after the fact?)
    I seem to remember in Korea you taught special needs kids (am I right?) Can you say if you requested special needs or were assigned to that class. If I got my teaching license / Certificate can I request special needs? I have worked with special needs children here in the states. I thought it was the cutest thing (and thanks for inserting it) when the kids were all touching your hair!!! 😊

    Hi Charly...welcome to Viet Nam! I'm the guy you gave travel advice to before I went to Cambodia 2 years back. Hope you enjoy it here. Took me a while to figure out that you are in Hanoi. Suggest you try the bread, which is of course is ubiquitous here. Once you find a favorite bakery, you may just forget about rice!

    Subscribed! Don't sweat it not taking the job offer. English jobs in VN are plentiful and you can find one easily if you really needed to.
    I suggest visiting Ho Chi MInh city too.

    Such an beautiful apartment. Now at least you don`t need to live in bug infested hostels. Having your own place even for a little while is great. I live with my relatives during some time I am in college, but I try to find a job as quickly as possible to finally get to rent a place of my own. Having your own place is so much better. You can decorate how you like and live life how you are used to. I just wish renting an apartment would be cheaper.
