kuei12 They're the best out there now. I always thought MCam was way too clunky all the way to 2017. MCam2017 is the cat's ass now. I went from having multiple files per part (in some cases EIGHT) to ONE. That is including multiple machines from lathe to mill back to lathe etc. Everything is so streamlined and smooth in 2017 that I went from programming a part start to finish in literally a third the time if not faster. 2018....I don't know what they were thinking, some things don't make sense but I'm just using it for Sandvik Prime turning lol
Yes, I have used 2017 and 2018. The problem with the ribbon bar is it was not thought out very well. Customization is minimal and you cannot make custom icon strips as you could before. The custion icon strips worked better and faster for Mastercam. You could put them where you needed them, I have used a wide variety of softwares with ribbon bars that do it right. Like NX and Excel. They are organized very well where the features refer to the current applications. NX also allows making custom icon strips. As usual, MC just created some gadget without putting much thought behind it. I'm really surprised though that the ribbon does not have more bugs. MC is very heavy on bugs because they don't test anything. It's really just a mediocre software.
No, I did not say the ribbon had bugs. Please reread. MC is notoriously a buggy software that had serious issues with crashing in the past. That seems to have been resolved now. They still have bugs from 8 years ago that they have not fixed. Had you used the versions prior to the roll out of the ribbon bar you would understand how much more cumbersome and time consuming it is now. Custom icon strips were alot more fluid. Now you spend half of the time searching for icons under multi-layers of BS. Go to the MC site and search for people complaining about the ribbon. If MC is the only Cam (I choke when I associate it with CAD because it is so poor at design) system that you have used, you would be impressed with it. However, I have used many. Giibbs, NX, Esprit, Delcam, Edgecam Surfcam and others. The only one on that list that is not far better than MC is Surfcam. Surfcam is a disgrace to Cam.
Now try doing the other side using the stock model op and watch Mastercam fail. Yeah, it insists on doing an entire 1st path at the top of the part instead of the fucking cut depth! LOL.
No contest. Mastercam hangs around mostly due to legacy programs. No one in the right mind gets Mastercam these days. Schools do because Mastercam themselves shove it to them so students have the only experience in that software. Thus a lot of new companies end up getting Mastercam because, that's all they see students have for training. The circle continues.
that Emuge FPC tool holder, isnt it basically just a rebranded Albrecht APC chuck?
HI, DID YOU REMEMBER THE POWER IN THE MACHINE?

Покажите как вторую сторону отрезаете
it's great toolpath..
Volumill is much better.
what formulas are you using?
Hm= Fz sqrt(Dia/Ae)
Climb cut on the back feed, lower DOC.
how hard was the steel? did i miss it?
MotorsportsX j , it says in that legend that it's A 2 , tool steel .
I read 4140
A2... but probably not hardened to any degree. ~27 HRc is my guess.
looks so slow because of haas?
I'm assuming the slower speed and feed is because of the length of the tool.
Because of Mastercam
I always liked MasterCAM
I didn't

That ribbon bar is completely idiotic and useless. There are much better systems out there. What other systems have you used?

maybe with a magnet
If only Emuge made dual contact Cat 40
Or Haas made spindles
One tool, one pieces... This is normal work for demonstration...
how to hold part when flip to mill off other side...thanks
don't tighten vise, only clamp very light.
make up a plug for the I'd and softjaw the OD.
fatmachinist fataman dont machine other side, just part off with a saw Blade
You need to get NX for the other side.

what?
@@ipadize who?
@@kuei12 by other side you mean the bottom side?
@@ipadize Yes. Flip it, use stock model op for your remaining stock and see what happens.

You are correct Keri.
Try telling that to Hambone the McChinist above Gredangeo. He is a MC fanboy at best. He CLEARLY has nevr tried anything else, except, maybe, Bobcad.
@@gredangeo mastercam is for real machinists
