Always enjoyed the feeling of driving a Polo GTI, such a shame about the gearbox. I know it’s probably fine and drives very well but personally for me you can’t beat being able to select and boot it in the gear of your choice. This particular model does look well equipped inside and the turbo is a big plus but without manual gears I expect I’ll be looking elsewhere for my next “fun” car. Excellent review, thank you. I've got this car, and if you drive sensibly and sedately everywhere, it starts to feel poorly made. Shoulda bought a Polo. When you want to have some fun again, on some good roads, it's a brilliant car and you fall in love with it

I prefer the polo to the golf, I owned the Mk8 Golf R and hated the interior and the software platform which is different to the one used here in the polo, this is a very good in depth review
@@ajmufc2415 the software platform in the mk8 R I had was terrible , but I had a an early model , I’ve now got a clubsport one of the last built with updated interior and love it 😊
Beats me why so many people rave about the Polo, uninspiring to drive, lifeless steering that offers no feel or feedback whatsoever, suspension seems unsuited to every surface the car is driven on, seats so uncomfortable every journey over 50 miles results in a sore back and bum for both driver and passenger and more often than not at least one leg going to sleep, takes forever to de-mist, tiny boot, a below average car that has somehow gas-lit it's way to popularity. Avoid.
You can get deep iron grey inserts as optional spec or standard with kings red paint.

Afaik the UK model has a 7 speed DSG, not 6.

@rivervalegroup I do, there are some brilliant scenic roads around Bradgate Park/Rothley in Leicester.

Did you just say torsion beam suspension? That's the cheap option for micro cars. Not a performance model. Also there is no performance pack option
