I owned these. For a week.. I have to say the THX sounds amazing. The audio in these is truly amazing and I’ve tried the cloud 2’s, Astro a40’s, and other headsets similar. These sound amazing. They (like every other kraken) are extremely comfortable. The pads feel very soft and almost cold. It’s weird but it makes for a very comfortable experience for hours and hours without the slightest discomfort. Now the mic.. the mic is quiet compared to most other mics. It sounds less nasally than the cloud 2’s but that doesn’t prove much. The cloud 2’s have an awful mic. But the real problem with the mic is that it doesn’t work. I’m. It sure why they just didn’t use the mic from the kraken 7.1 v2 but this mic is quiet and mine stopped picking up sound completely after just two days of use. The only way for it to hear my voice was for me to literally scream while the mic was in my mouth. If you have an external mic, then these headphones are for you. But otherwise, I’d recommend the kraken 7.1 v2 or Sennheiser GSP 300
Sick review. They definitely look comfy, but you can just buy ear pads for good headphones :)

i got these yesterday for $70 at walmart and gotta say i love them. the audio controller can also be used with most mobile devices as well if you have the otg adapter to convert usb to type-c. i use these for streaming on twitch and also use these with the audio controller on my xiaomi mi 9 and its the best headset ive had in a long time. sound is clear, plenty of bass and also comfortable. also to those wanting to know the audio controller can be used with other headsets as well and it really makes others sound great. i recommend getting the whole package, but for those just wanting the controller you can get it from the official razer site or ebay for $20 or less. so if dont have the money for these, but want the controller to improve your current headset then you can get it seperate and its definitely worth it

I bought a pair of Kraken Pro v2 Green yesterday, they are amazing. So comfortable. The sound is amazing. For that price you really cannot go wrong. I wanted the black color though (it wasn't in stock at the shop). But the green is still a good choice overall.

The tournament edition is better than kraken v2
i used some krakens, and they sounded awsome, and for a bass head like me, untill now i haven't found anything compared to them as what it comes to bass.
And on my game sessions i coud hear anything very clearly and understand where evrything was.
Now, i don't know if these are "diffrent" krakens then the ones i used but they sounded "good".
I also don't even like the virtual surround, and woud only use it on something like ARMA 3, where my friend only does so, and i belive it helps.
Really considering to buy these because of the dongle too, i liked the original kraken, but with this dongle it just makes them perfect for me.

After using them, I have to agree with everything, specially with the THX surround sound because I have the SAME feeling that far from let me pin point accurately I ear it all around. I really want to come back and say something because is was the only review that said it... and I watched a ton! So, 3 years later, this video still got you a subscriber. Nice work man!

Honestly it's such an old review that it's probably not worth the change, but the THX Spatial Audio only works for me when I have it set to on *before* I launch the App, because it has to launch the game as if it was connected to an actual 7.1 surround set-up via the virtual 7.1 output. The game will then show up in that panel and think you have a 7.1 audio set-up and the software will direct the audio accordingly. If you're just toggling the button on and off, it's only "upscaling" the audio as best it can from stereo over to 7.1.. which is probably why you had the announcers feel completely off base and the other issues. In your video I didn't see any applications show up, and that's because you turned it on after.
I have tried the Creative CMSS 3D, Nahimic 3D, Dolby Atmos for Headphones, DTS Unbound, and now the Razer THX Spatial and I've got to say, as long as the game has great or even acceptable 7.1 output, the THX Spatial performs better across the board for me for locating sounds and immersion.
Nice review! But which one would you prefer? The Krakens or The Electra V2?
Haven't tried the Electra but I'm a big fan of the Nari.

Would you suggest this strictly for ps4? I just bought the spearhead vr but since I have no windows pc I can't update it and get it working properly on my PS4, so it's going back. I'm looking at the mh751 next but I worry about how the controller will drive it. Always love your content!

Thx for the review these will be my first razer headphones I like them alot but I would ask any recommended settings or default is good cause I'm using default and it sounds good maybe different for everyone? . I'm not a sound fanatic so honestly it's hard for me to tell a difference .

I was cautious about purchasing Kraken headsets after reading numerous negative reviews online; however, I finally felt confident enough to buy one of these. I’m waiting for Amazon to deliver it this week, and hope to be pleasantly surprised.
I'm still using my kraken v1 headset after having it for 3 years or more and I'm hoping to get more use out of it. I had a friend that bought the kraken v2 and after knowing what he went through to set up the new mic. I would say it is not worth getting any Razer headset until that new mic style is replaced with the old version or something better. The new mic is just pure garbage.
Nah.. It’s not bad. I have the Kraken Pro V2 and the mic is good. Overall, I like the headset.

Upgraded from these cans to the K7XX, these headphones did me really well . I will be passing them to my wife to use. My only complaint is the volume, if you like loud music they can be a bit quiet, and I guess the software is annoying but it has been better recently. I used to have problems detecting them or using the surround but they have corrected these issues. My favorite feature of this headset is the durability, it still looks like the day I bought it a year ago.

I still have the best mic when I play with other people the only problem I have is the muffs that go around your ears get a little uncomfortable after a while although it’s nothing big and I still believe it is definitely worth a buy

Hey I've had the razer man o wars for 2-3 years now and I'm a pretty heavy gamer. The problem is the head band snapped in the first month of ownership and the store I bought then from wouldn't give me a new pair or money back as apparently this problem was on my side even thought its razer's own design fault. Since then I duct taped them as I wasnt buying a headset after a month of ownership and I'm looking for a new headset but I'm avoiding razer because of this. However this and the normal kraken 2019 caught my eyes but I'm not sure whether to get this or go for a different brand. I'll admit I did abuse them from the amount that I play and lots of the leather from the ear cups have peeled off with the headband only being supported from the duct tape and the plastic has all snapped off. I'm a console gamer and I'm pretty sure it's time for a change but I don't know which one to get. Hope you can help me!

Excellent review bro!! I was looking at some of the high end headphones in the $250ish range but most lack Xbox one support. Directional sound to me is overrated in the more budget options. Comfort, durability, and glasses support are really nice. No modular cables is alarming... but the PC Xbox support looks way above average. Definitely one to consider for me - thanks!!

Dang. I bought the Kraken Pro 7.1 V2's a while back, but quickly realized they didn't have a 3.5mm jack for my Xbox controller, so I returned them. Which was my own fault for not researching if it was USB or not. I did try them out on my computer, and they were some of the loudest and bass heavy headsets I've ever tried. Really made a thump in your ear when an explosion went off, and I loved them. Which made me pretty disappointed to have to return them. I went with the Logitech G Pro's after that.
While the G Pro's sound really good and have a pretty damn good mic, I feel like the Krakens might be a little louder. Which matters when you're playing shooters like Battlefield. Not being able to use the THX also isn't that big of a deal breaker because I have the Dolby Atmos license on my Xbox. So I might just have to give these a try to see if there's a difference. Probably not a difference though since they're both rated 32 ohms impedance. It's also tough to try to justify the switch based on the mic clarity, the mic on the Kraken's sounded a little underwhelming in your review. Anyone have both? Lol.

Thanks man! I would stick with the G Pros honestly. Doubt you'd get that much volume increase and the clarity of the G Pro is better. Unless you can use the software to adjust the mic, it's pretty rough in stock config. G Pro and Atmos has to sound pretty clean.

Definitely sound advice. I'll stick with the G Pro's, for now (lol), they really do sound amazing. But, hey, I have a suggestion. You should try out the Razer Nari Ultimate's with real time haptic feedback, and let us know what you think. Those look like some awesome cans man. Pretty eager to find out how big of a difference that haptic feedback makes when gaming.

YOUR CHANNEL IS AMAZING!! I just bought a pair of these yesterday. And I am extremely disappointed with the sound quality compared to my much cheaper Astro A-10s. As I’m about to box it back up to return it I see the 7.1 surround sound activation code. And I’m wondering if it’s worth keeping and trying with the 7.1 surround sound, because what if it’s better than my Astro A-10s that so far I think are superior without the 7.1 surround sound on the razer. Any help would be fantastic!

Hi there. I heard you say these are the best for PS4 that YOU have heard in terms of volume loudness. Does the extra THX adaptor work on the PS4. I also just got the alpha cloud and they are just alright. Not loud enough for my tasting. What’s something YOU would prefer for PS4 under 100?

Hi there, yes they do but the ps4 doesnt support 7.1 sorround sound in general. headsets cant use it on ps4 unless you use the normal cable
