  • Tesla Full Self-Driving (Supervised) 12.3.3 completes a real rideshare pick up and drop off with zero interventions. The rider was talking about how good Waymo was, but by the end he said Tesla was just as good.

    Great video. FSD take rate should improve. A discount for seniors might be a good strategy. As a point of reference, in Dec, 2023, the average Social Security check was $1,767.03. FSD is still a steep price for those who may need it the most. Thoughts?

    Those red lights took forever to get going even though there seemingly wasn't anyone at some of the intersections zzZZzzZzzz! Great video as always. Been watching most of your videos for years to track the progress and progress there is. I don't care when, all I know it is going to happen and Tesla in essence has first mover advantage considering it's not geo-bound. These are amazing times to be alive.

    Hi. Thank you for your videos. I notice that in your videos, the steering wheel prompt/nag never occurs even though it does in many of the other TH-cam videos of 12.3.3 update. Is there a reason why you're able to drive like this with 0 nags? Please let us know. :) Would love to know and be able to emulate.

      @Matzes okay, thank you for sharing. Now, I understand better. Hopefully the steering wheel prompts will be going away completely (or reduced to a bare minimum) for all drivers in the coming updates. As it stands now, the new version of FSD is still pretty amazing, even with the steering wheel nags. Most drivers are calling it a game-changer.

    What's your prediction on when Tesla will polish the FSD to the point of taking accountability for it's mistakes in edge cases (as those are inevitable)? 1, 2... 5 years?

    • @BigBen621
      @BigBen621 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have never understood just what this means. Financial accountability? Civil liability? Criminal liability?
      Tesla will already take on financial accountability for accidents involving Teslas, whether driving with Autopilot, EAP, or FSD engaged, or even manually-all you have to do is buy your collision and comprehensive insurance from Tesla instead of some other vendor.
      Civil liability is usually determined by the courts, after a lawsuit is filed; so Tesla has no input to this. One example is the lawsuit underway right now for the 2018 crash of a Tesla Model X in Mountain View, CA. Tesla has certainly not voluntarily taken accountability for this or similar accidents, and will defend themselves in court if appropriate; but cannot escape civil liability of the court finds in the plaintiff's favor.
      Same for criminal liability-that would be established by the courts, as a result of criminal charges being filed against Tesla for deliberately or negligently causing an accident, injury or death.
      I can easily envision a model in which FSD (or some other name for its ADS, since it's already told the California DMV that FSD will never be more than Level 2) achieves Level 4, but Level 4 can only be activated in Teslas who also purchase their collision and comprehensive insurance from Tesla. This would have several positive effects for Tesla; so if this happens, you saw it here first!

    That shits crazy cause my fsd accelerates way too quick from stops, or to close a gap, and makes turns utterly too slow.
    I literally had it disengage mid left turn , in ideal conditions for no reason. Only times it works well is on the freeway (and sometimes it goes left right left right within the lane trying to keep center feels like im on a wind up to a rollercoster) and backing up to park. Other wise its highly inconsistant and jittery.

      @@jeffufcfanaticrosenberg _what happens if something happens to the vision then answer that question_
      Excellent question, and thank you for bringing it up. If you were familiar with SAE J3016, which defines the requirements for the five levels of autonomy, you'd be aware that it includes specific provisions for this situation. To paraphrase Section 5.6, "In the event of a system failure, such as if something happens to the vision, then a Level 5 (or Level 4) driving automation system goes into fallback mode, and achieves a minimal risk condition"__which is defined by the vendor, but usually means pulling over to the side and putting hazard blinkers on.
      You've obviously bought into the myth that there's some requirement for redundancy. You and your ill-informed ilk have been spouting that nonsense for years, now, but have never been able to actually produce such a requirement. Keep in mind that Teslas have as much redundancy as any of the 250 million human drivers licensed in the U.S. alone; and more than many, because folks with only one eye can get driver's licenses, and even pilot's licenses.
