I own a BYD Dolphin (in Thailand) and after 40,000 km in 16 months, I am very happy with it. But I read that export models are better build than the ones sold in China.
they change the spec according to local situations. like Leapmotor T03 has a higher topspeed in Germany than in China. what exactly by better build do you mean?

@ The Dolphin sold in China has/had lower specs in terms of crash safety and corrosion protection. That is why I only buy a Chinese EV which also sold in European markets or Australia. A good example is the Neta V which is very popular in Thailand but only got 0 points in the NCAP test, compared to 5 of the Dolphin. Other specs like battery size and available colours may vary in different markets.
wise choice. and FYI Neta is seen by many as the next up brand to go bankrupt, due to its disastrous sales figure and years of money loss.

@@WareToGo_WTG I also choose BYD because there is a dealer nearby. The Neta X could be a better product because it competes with the Atto 3, but BYD will introduce a successor of the Atto 3 this year (according to to rumours). I agree with you that some (many?) Chinese EV brands will disappear sooner or later.
yes the new Atto 3 might be more like a facelift and some new features coming in( possible mini bar). as for those brands, it's already a blood fight here so we'll see...very soon
thank you! Far as I know, Seltos is selling its 2023 version in Chinese market, seems like a rival of Nissan Qashqai ( one of my previous cars) . BTW there should be subtitles in 22 main languages, plz try again and let me know if it's working fine
If you are driving on highway and the battery status snapped to 0% due to poor calibration(happens for lithium iron phosphate battery), The power will be occupied by charging battery to make it up to the "minimum capacity". The engine needs to be powerful enough to support simultaneously charging and highspeed driving or you lose all the power which could be fatal. for that 100 hp might be not enough.
@WareToGo_WTG This is true, if we talk about hibryd vechicle, not about EV. How engine "power will be occupied by charging battery"? It charge battery only when recuperarion work. Or I missed something?
i should correct that. the engine fails to push forward because it is actually programmed to not work at full theoretical output since that works against the efficient strategy of BYD. for that, i think a bigger engine that is comfortable with higher speed range would better accommodate the current hybrid strategy and avoid the "power out" issue.
Great car, in Australia and NZ markets, the Dolphin has the base trim which actually has everything as standard as the higher trim apart from the torsion suspension, smaller battery and less powerful motor, apart from that all the same tech. No one buys the lower battery size as it's very underpowered.
sport mode doesn't give it any extra horsepower😂but there could be some other factors coming in with the impotent issue. 177 hp should be enough for a car this weight

Your video style is nice, it makes China seem like a nice normal place.
😂China is normal, and most Chinese people are kind and friendly. It's just that some Western media spread rumors every day.😂😂😂
thank you!
Tips. Turn on the CC subtitle to get the auto translation. 😊 Great Vid. This car reminds me of Kia Seltos ( aussie) .

Give me the English subtles over that awful AI translation! And yes, the English subtles work great on this video. Thank you!
Good video! Great to hear owner opinion
Hope for no sunroof version in Thailand , because we dont need it , its very hot weather
hhh same here in Chongqing, one of the most torched place in China
槽點:
3:53 扭力樑 尾擔,震過「貓王」😅;掟彎又飄
4:33 , 10:41 風噪、胎噪 都大 (100km/h 以內 可接受)
6:14 最大功率为130kW(约177马力)。
6:31爬坡會有點困難,要 flat out 才可勉為其難。
好总结
@WareToGo_WTG
理論上,130kW 的 純電動車 應該唔會有這樣明顯的 爬坡 問題。
我懷疑,Cici 遇到的爬坡問題 的主因可能係:
1. 車胎 的狀態、質量;
2. 前置 前驅,及車身的 前/後載荷分佈 的比重、平衡問題。
How about version with 70 kWt power engine? Will it be enought for daily use car in city?
not ideal for any car weighing over 1 ton
@WareToGo_WTG Of course, such power will influence on dynamic, but what else? Does this engine not enouhg for city drive?

Yes it is "underpowered". And I think the entry version could be just a tactic to lower the bottom price of the model.
Wind noise is not acceptable, BYD should repair it. Does the car hasn't got sport mode for climbing hills?

V2L or V2G ??
V2L
@@WareToGo_WTG Thanks :)
Seems like a very appealing car in many ways. I wonder if they will come to NZ. I really want to buy a car and it will be an EV. Tired of walking
I drive a smart electric car now, and I can’t go back. It is completely different from a fuel car.
i'm not familiar with your local conditions like taxes or insurance. if they work fine with you i think having a car would be a real bliss.
This car exists to push you to buy the Dolphin or the Atto 3
hhh epic
Hi,
Super presentation !

The car owner couldn't even name three favorite features🤣
she really tried lol
