This video is among the best of the photo editing tutorials. The techniques are simple, yet impactful. They are transferable and not heavily specific to the example image. The presentation was clear and concise. 10/10 would watch again.
love your style of teaching,, very humble,, you keep telling the right definition of some terms almost in your every video published on youtube. keep the great work!!
I just love your vision and knowing of how / what to edit in the image; your videos really inspire me to try these out, please don't ever stop your videos - I am loving them.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who pushes those sliders to the extremes just to see what it looks like. My whole approach is to go to each end, back and forth, and slowly hone in to the "acceptable" range of effect I'm looking for, and then see if I can find the sweet spot.
I don’t know how you do it, Mark, but you always come up with new and unique videos on topics not seen elsewhere. Your videos are massively helpful and enjoyable; you style is such that I feel as if you are talking to me in a one-on-one. It’s clear to me that you enjoy what you are doing and it shows; I just hope you are giving yourself enough time in the field! Thank you for all you do for this community; you are a great mentor and are doing more than you might appreciate to elevate our skills. Thank you and best wishes for the health and safety of you and your family.
Love seeing the process for taking an image that doesn't pop and really making it work afterwards. Really like the seasonal shift because that really transformed it into a new image. Great stuff as always!
Mr Denney, Thank you! Not only did you give some great advice to make a good photograph a great photograph. But you also, inadvertently, showed me how to better use the tools and other editing sections. So, again, Thank you!
Hi again Mark. Definitely picked up lots of hints and tips from this video. I already knew about creating pockets of radial filters draw attention to specific parts of the photo, however i've learned about how to use the Calibration panel. Thanks a million Mark and wish you all the best.

It is so refreshing to see the SOOC shot versus the final edit. The hacks you shared are indeed very helpful. I have a park not too far from home where I generally go biking. There are a series of bridges on the trail, and one particular set of bridges always fascinated me. First, because they were two bridges together. Second, because the lighting always lent itself to some creative and moody shots. Well, this spring it finally happened. I was able to get a shot with the right light where I wanted it to be. However, I still had to hack the image in the editing to accentuate the mood in the shot. Hacks such as what you showed are a great tool. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Mark, thank you so much for this video, really cool to see the raw, completely unedited photo and the end result after postprocessing. I don't know about everybody else but I'd be really interested to see more videos where you go through the whole process of editing a photo from scratch. The reason I say this is because I always thought that a lot of the amazing photos I've seen are largely captured out of camera with little post-processing (and I'm sure a lot of them are!), but this video really does a good job of showing the whole end to end process. Thanks again!
Great video Mark. Please keep creating these types of tutorials. We are all going thru our hard drives and reediting while in our bubbles. Keep well. Cheers from Montreal.
Thank you Mark! All of your techniques, tips and hacks really helped to improve my edits. Every time I struggle with an edit, I watch a video of yours to be inspired!
Very useful tips. Finally understand how to switch different season views by pushing color sliders with your help. Much appreciated! This will also help push otherwise "not strong enough lighting" condition photos with your 5 tips.
Absolutely epic. Thank you. I just purchased my first actual camera, after spending the last year leading how ISO, exposure, etc works. My first gen Sony a7r is great and all, but this really makes it pop. Thank you for taking time out of your day to share you knowledge!
wow!! these are amazing editing hacks! I love your channel and have learned so much about lightroom editing. I really like how your explain every step and show how much editing can enhance an image.
Your presentations are always excellent; I learn so much. I especially appreciate it when you take the time to reveal your tricks in Lightroom and show the before and after. One can only learn from someone who practices his art every day.
Great work Mark . I am currently working through a mountain of shots taken on what will probably end up being a once in a lifetime , early winter trip to New Zealand. We were on a tight schedule so I had to take my shots as and where I found them. I use my (limited) editing skills to reproduce the image as captured by my mind's eye. I cut my teeth on black and white film photography around 40 yrs ago . Taking the photo was just one small step in the process , so I have no dogmatic ideological prejudice against modern editing techniques. While I try to achieve as much in camera as possible , editing is just another part of the process and is not something for which you should ever feel the need to apologize.
I am looking forward to trying out these hacks and I even have few images in mind to try them out on. Great and super informative video today Mark. Thanks for sharing!
Hi from Germany, glad I found your channel. You have great videos with great tipps and tricks. Thank you! I am a little bit jealous of the wonderful nature that you have in the states. The waterfalls are such a landscape photographers dream!!!
Very helpful hacks, Mark! I find that your videos provide some good concrete ways to improve our photography. So glad you 'rediscovered' this image and did your magic. It really gave the image the Wow factor. I also want to let you know how much I like your studio. The lighting is soothing and the little plants you have scattered around are a nice touch. You show that it is possible to have a calm, soothing environment in our work space. Thank you.
Thank you, Mark I enjoyed your videos as I continue to learn as much as I can on Landscape photography. Your videos just essentially keep simple and yet very informative. I will try those tips from this video. Again, thanks.
Thank you so much for this video! I just took a waterfall photo last weekend that seems pretty flat to me. Now I can't wait to use your techniques to hopefully pull out the hidden beauty.
Mr Denney! thank you for creating all of these videos that you do! it has helped me with my landscape images so much. Very much appreciated! I am reside in OR too! seen a few of your pics are from here. Thanks again!
Thanks for another great video. I learned your hack n.3 (dappled dodge) the hard way, trying to recreate moments that I have enjoyed but I wasn't able to capture. It happens very often that a cluster of small clouds partially covers the sun, creating a lot of sunspots everywhere. These short moments are hard to capture out on the trails unless I hold the camera in the hand for the whole hike. And here comes the hack into play.
Always love watching your videos. I found this one to be extremely helpful given my current editing. Thank you Mark for keeping it real and informative!
Great video Mark, love the radial brush for creating an imaginery sun and the way you highlighted the greenery on the rocks. I will say though, they are not 'hacks' they are just great editing technics. To me a hack is where you make a device or object do something it was never intended for. Lightroom was intended to do this.
Hey Mark! Awesome video. It looks like in your final image you have added some light rays coming down from the top, but didn’t discuss that portion throughout the video. Any tips on adding this? Thanks!
Well, it's back to pen & paper old school technology, cos I don't have the time to keep reviewing these excellent videos on YT. Quicker to just keep notes !! Thanks Mark
So I'm thinking about doing another Viewer Submitted Photo Review Video - what do ya think, interested?

Yes absolutely
But please can you make a video on earning with landscape photography

Using the dehaze and negative clarity with the radial and gradient filters is genius. Much more natural light source effect.
It's hardly genius, lol.
