I'd love them to also do Young Aragorn. There's loads they can mine from The Appendices about young Aragorn, about him being brought up by the Elves, and how he was kept hidden by Elrond so not to be assassinated by Sauron's agents. Not only was his life in danger because he is heir to Gondor, but also because he is descended from Elrond's brother, and thereby a member of the long-living Dunedain. Bound to this story is Aragorn's blossoming romance with Arwen, and his time as a Ranger. If they wanted they could include his friendship with Legolas, though that is only suggested by Jackson's films, and not a feature written in Tolkien.
Et ses participations à de grandes batailles en Rohan et au Gondor sous le nom de Thorongil.
If Lee Pace is back I'll definitely watch it. I miss beautiful majestic elves. There are some things in the Hobbit I hate with passion, but I still watch it because Bilbo, Thranduil, Gandalf, Gollum and Bard were absolutely amazing. And Smaug! More of this please, no to damn Tauriel and her stupid love story level of crap.
I've just rewatched the original trilogy and it holds up really well... That being said, I don't need the original cast to return. Let them be, forget fucking AI... It'll look uncanny and the story will be forced.
Well, I mean Aragorn plays a pivotal role in the story, you think someone could top Viggo?
@@sethhauck1283 What I meant by not needing them to return is that I really don't need a LotR remake. Expand the world, create new stories in it, the main story has aged really well and doesn't need a retelling.
@@psypsy751 its not a rework, it's an expansion of the lore
Look, Mr. Frodo. There's beauty up there, beyond the darkness.
"Light and high beauty."
I am totally willing to watch the hunt for gollum if they return. I am always willing to give things a watch, I just hope they could make the de-aging convincing enough. I want more LOTR! I just want it to be made and honored in the spirit of the source material. Thanks for the video, this info made my day 😊
Thranduil literally took elf regal and elegance to a whole other level. Lee pace played him beautifully
"Véla i assaila umë polë cenë ilyë mettar." / “For even the very wise cannot see all ends.” JRR Tolkien
Imagine you have to get deaged to play an old bearded wizard who is a few thousand years old.
I believe the estate has held on the the rights to the silmarilian, Christopher Tolkien didn't want them to adapt it , he wasn't happy with how the LOTR and the hobbit turned out , he left instructions, but I imagine the estate will eventually sell , but they had to pay 300 million for rop , although I think amazon broke the terms ,
Christopher in particular was responsible for the silmarilian it's his baby, his father even said he could rewrite it or change it , Christopher instead just edited it , he made some changes that he highlighted and made sure to publish what his father originally wrote,
I'd love to see it , I thought they were going to do it with rop but they lied about what rights they had , that would be a wonderful multi season show but you would need a huge budget, bigger than LOTR, think of the battles,
A good alternative would be ( and Peter Jackson considered it and talked about it on his directors cut ) doing the appendix, which they have the rights to , if they can make war of the rohirrim out of a paragraph or two , there is a section on the war of the jewels, ( silmarilian)
RoP needs to fall like Baradur, they had the potential but the "Haladriel" craze killed it for me for good. RoP and shipping Sauron with Galadriel is the foulest thing I had ever seen, and for the showrunners to have the gul to say they are writing the novel Tolkien (not clarifying which one) would have written is like letting a scientologist write a Bible story.
An anthology series of the silmarillion would be awesome
Agreed, but they must first get Men of the West, and Tolkien Untangled, to give all advice
Didnt expect to get alien spoiled in a Lotr video... so thanks I guess
Its not that big of a spoiler. More you will get less disappointed over the bad cgi /ai. When u watch alien Romulus
You know people badmouth Ai but if de-aging really starts to work well for that it would allow actors and actresses to play roles much longer and I think that’s a good thing for their careers.
I'm all for it, IF it works
At which point, as will be the case for all of cinema, it becomes a CGI animated film.
Why would you need their careers to be improved? They’re already raking in millions from all their past successes. Time for new talent. Don’t need to see CGI actors.
Thank Elaine
The people who say that The Children of Hurin would be a bad film because it's depressing must never have heard of a tragedy before. There is catharsis in tragedy which is just as satisfying as a happy ending.
In the age of Safe Spaces, such things would horrify and terrify the new generation...
The Tolkien family didn't even like the Peter Jackson movies. I doubt they're going to ever give up the rights for The Silmarillion.
If the Tolkien family didn't like Peter Jackson's LOTR but do like Rings of Power, then they must hate JRR Tolkien's legacy!
@@chrissandoval9459 I think I remember Christopher Tolkien saying that Peter Jackson had turned LotR into an action film and that's why he didn't like it. Do they like Rings of Power?
I grew up reading the books and listening to the BBC radio drama. As, I suspect, Peter Jackson did too, because his interpretation was an almost damned perfect representation of what I imagined the world to be. I'm willing to just say it. The Tolkien family are wrong.
@@goodlookinouthomie1757 I feel like there has been some family drama in the Tolkien estate. Maybe they resent JRR for some reason. They want to belittle his legacy. Jealousy?🤷♂️ Who knows
LOTR original trilogy strayed from the story, but the casting and scenery were so extraordinarily perfect that it worked anyway. As for the Hobbit, loved the casting( minus Orlando Bloom) but that trilogy should not have really happened honestly. This looks like a train wreck, especially if Orlando Bloom comes back. He was a perfect Legolas in LOTR but his elf days are over
Hey, Nerd Cookies just mentioned Foundation (Apple TV) !! Why aren’t their Nerd Cookies videos on Foundation? Lee Pace is amazing in that. So is the automaton Demerzel.
I'm afraid Foundation the TV series has almost nothing to do with the books.
@@vladmods Oooooohh. Nerd Cookies is a prodigious reader and a stickler for some amount of accuracy but the show is good. Just wish she made more videos on Foundation/Silo/Severance.
Minimal Tolkien material for the hunt for Gollum. Maybe 4 pages of text (?). No interesting story arc. They look for him, they find him, he escapes. Would have to be more deluted then the Hobbit was.
Would LOVE to see the Silmarillion
hell yeah hope to see viggo return as aragorn!
I’d only be happy with a sequel with practical effects and OG cast
I think the original actors should be voice only, in a cgi movie. Having seen Tintin, spiderverse, Christmas carol, and many others, with the improvements in computer generated material, I think a whole bunch of LOR movies could be made. I’d go with animation, definitely.
Family said they would never sell the rights and don’t like the movies.
I want PJ to demonstrate, again, that he can oversee faithful, excellent, entertaining LOTR.
So the estate can realize their mistake with Amazon. Unpucker a little.
And then PJ can do Beren and Luthien.
The rings of power are fine...it's entertainment
@@dynjarren5454 You find that shit entertaining? Geuss you dont understand the works of Tolkien or a thing about writing. I hate ignorance so easy to avoid.
PJ is not the great director. He understands the material, but someone like Guilermo del Toro is far superior filmmaker than PJ.
@@dynjarren5454show is the biggest flop in TV history lol it ain’t “fine”.
I like your voice is your voice, and not the mechanical thing I've heard before.
The upcoming animated movie could decide the fate of other animated LotR movies
Nope, I don't want this either, not anymore.
Hollywood (and pretty much all other "entertainment" companies) can no longer make good stuff, because they do not want to.
Really does not matter who makes it. Who really makes it are the money man, and they want THE MESSAGE. In everything.
I hope they don't use AI at all for this movie.
Furiosa already did de-aging right. Serkis will just do that. Costly perhaps, but still.
Hmm, I have concerns. The stuff added to The Hobbit wasn't great. And looking at the abomination that is The Rings of Power … how much can they crap on Tolkien's legacy?
Can't sit through more of Bloom's non-acting. He's more wooden than Treebeard's balls.
he is a wood elf
I‘m still very much torn between „awesome comeback“ or „mass midlife crisis“ on this whole thing. 😅Let’s see where this goes. I thought the six films are perfect together now.
Gandalf and Aregorn plus his rangers are supposed to be a large part in hunt for gollum
No, thank you. Hollywood has proven its incapability to adapt Tolkien in the modern day. Their garbage ideologies will just do more damage.
No, no, no.
Especially if Philippa Boyens is involved. She destroyed The Hobbit and now the The Rohirrrim animation. So NO.
Liv Tyler definitely won't need de-aging....
Was Legolas even there for this storyline?
Ahh time for my weekly cookie dose
2:30 alien Romulus spoiler. She doesn’t give a heads up so be careful. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Listen.... If you haven't seen it by now.... Lol
I hated Legolas in the Hobbit movies-- he looked extremely weird and he didn't belong and his story with Tauriel and her love story with Kili was the absolute worst. But i hated the Hobbit movies in general. They just need to stop with all this. Nobody under 40 knows how to make good tv/movies apparently.
This comment. 100%. Legolas looked like he was himself CGI.
There’s a “book edit” available online with all the non book scenes cut. It’s very good
Those movies have a good movie buried in there. It's unfortunate.
Twister director was young and cooked
Many of the worst films made lately were made by people over forty. And no one destroys franchises like Kathleen Kennedy. Also Abram’s trashed things and even creators who were great or seemed so back in the day have devolved to making garbage.
Maybe they just shouldn't. But thanks.
Please, just re-cast. We need to learn how to let go of things.
I hate how it is all about nostalgia. It is exploitative. From both actors and companies. I understand they want work, but be graceful for goodness sake.
orlando has to get slim again... and plz use deaging tech
just look at the "rings of power" I hope they never get the rights to Silmarillion
There’s so many better things you could do to add to what has already been adapted. But yes I would watch it ofcourse.
the final script goes out to everyone around december-febuary. If its god they will all come
Uh....elves don't really age. Sorry Orlando. The guy playing the archer looked more like you than you did.
99% of movies and series nowadays are UNWATCHABLE… they couldn’t produce something good if their life depended on it.
Hard pass. I don’t trust them with anything.
*DEI ruins everything.*
Count me out.
Instead of de-ageing. Why not just recast.
Meh. Its not the same.
Because those actors didn’t see it as a job, other actors will just take it as another job.
They're holding onto LOTR like Bilbo holds on to the ring. I think its time they let it go.
I think you need to be silent. Never comment on LOTR again
Just be silent, and watch
Lord please enough with the Gollum media no one cares! The sadest excuse of all time to milk TF outta the Lord of The Rings franchise.
Just do 100% CGI. The acting will be better than Rings of Power and they can make it look and feel authentic and true to the books. Right?
Hell no to Anime! Tolkien stories deserve the highest production value possible.
I don't need a gollum movie. But no joke, I am enjoying the rings of power series, it's just how I imagined Sauron would be sculking around manipulating people.
No- they fucked up already.
Play brad pit on benjamin button...Leonardo DI-CAPRIO for golum
Just don’t de-age him
R u hiding ur face? I’m sure it’s wonderful , I’m shy kinda clever
This movie was made as an internet version pretty clever but gollum was in a sac w Aragorn which book Aragorn shoulda did that cause his account was miserable and he’s a ranger.
More of the same, while the real good stories of Tolkien's world is sealed away probably best where they wont be touched by wokewood
Who gives a shit about hunt for G, its like starwars not doing knights of the old republic…. Give people what they want.
LOL doubt it. The original cast are too homogenous.
IMO The Hunt for Gollum feels more like a quest designed for an action-adventure game featuring a young Aragorn. Speaking of this, I think Warner should consider making such a game-maybe they should!
Please God no.
If they stick to the lore and forget about all this DEI and woke crap it would be great!
Lifelong Tolkien reader and collector here, and I support all adaptations, but I really don't like them doing this. Hollywood cash grab.
just recast
There’s so many better things you could do to add to what has already been adapted. But yes I would watch it ofcourse.
