    Why do i photograph? I have no answer. I like it, i want to document my life, the life around me. There are many answers, but not the only one i want. So i am like a wanderer and photography, my photography, is like a path. The path emerges as i walk. So that's the reason why i can't give an exact answer to the question why do i photograph.
    But it's not necassary. My individual path of photography emerges as i walk. And videos like yours and your instgram posts help me a lot. Thank you for this. 😊

    I love the philosophy "Just getting it done"!!! For a long period of time, I was negative about my work not being perfect in my standard. But few weeks ago I just started sharing my imperfect photos in youtube and I found lots of people who loves my works! Just getting it done, there will be likers and haters but doing nothing only gives regrets!

    As always wonderful points for reflection. I've lately started applying the "done is better than perfect" strategy in my life, and I started liking myself more. This little thing we have, called photography, is really powerful for ourselves, it's just a matter of realizing it

    The biggest impact for me was setting out to always have one and only one project going on. That forced me to think much more about the quality of my shots.
    I find goals super useful

    Such good philosphies Tim which can apply across all creative practices, brilliant! I have all these in my art journal but I'm going to stick them up by my desk for constant reminders now. One other thing that used to get me down is 'compare and despair'. I've tried to reframe this for myself to 'compare and aspire' by accepting that others are way ahead of me in their creative development because they've been at it longer and put the work in. They were beginners once too. As long as we keep putting the work in and abiding by your 4 philosophies too, we can aspire to get really good at what we do rather than despair that we can't do it. And happy birthday young man!! 🥳🎈

    I too am a perfectionist in my photography , i delete more than i keep these days , i started as a landscape photographer but after watching your videos and other street photographers videos that was it i got hooked i love the whole street theatre look no days are the same out there, do not take any notice of unkind remarks your photography is brilliant , my philosophy is if i do not go out i could be missing out on some great shots and meeting people on my travels

    Pensive theme, experience based, and well illustrated, Tim. Clever Post-It notes graphics. Always tweaking - didn’t you change the original title of this post?😊 There’s always room for improvement, so we can never reach perfection, IMO. Japanese have philosophy of “constant improvement” in small steps. I find step two most challenging - I lack the discipline and get too easily side-tracked at a shoot, if that makes sense.
    BTW, noticed in thumbnail you were using one-eye squint method. Ever try using both eyes - training the less dominant eye to suppress priority, yet still be aware of stuff outside the frame that might become active? Cheers!

    Yea i've always struggled with the am i good enough which leads me to way over think things. My favorite quote is by Salvador Dali, "have no fear of perfection, you'll never reach it". I used to be a perfectionist in life and this quote helped me realize that in chasing perfection i can miss out on so much. Also that i dont need to be perfect, just the best that i can be.

    Thank you for yet another beautiful video. Although the 2nd, 3rd and 4th points are very important, I feel they bear only a fraction of gravity of the first one. The "why" in photography is the one I feel makes the difference between millions of images or content that are uploaded daily and great pictures that touch the heart. Would you share your "why"? Finding that would be a great subject for a whole new video. It's not an easy subject as it can be very personal. But more important than any method-related guide in my opinion. Thank you again.

    • @timjamiesonphotos
      @timjamiesonphotos  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! Yes I very much agree with you. I’d be happy to share my ‘why’ in a video however I’m not sure if it would appeal to that many viewers? 🙏🏻

      @@timjamiesonphotos I beg to differ. If you follow Sean Tucker, which I think you do, you may note that his "why" related videos are what makes the difference in his channel. Anyway, this is entirely up to you though I for one would like to see such a video from you. Best of luck either way.

    Where do you get your images printed? I want to print, but don’t want to invest in a printer, well, not yet … I also don’t necessarily want everything huge, just, as you say to physically hold them in my hand, but also not pay a fortune … Thanks 😊 📷
