GR® de Pays d'Olmes: 4 days of trek from Bélesta to Montségur, Cathar castles and preserved nature

The GR® de Pays tour du Pays d'Olmes begins in Bélesta, and takes us on a magnificent adventure in the heart of the Cathar Pyrenees! Between the Plantaurel massif and the Tabe massif, it is a small corner of Ariège made up of pretty villages, whose wealth was long linked to the textile industry, splendid deciduous forests with powerful and soothing colors, peaceful paths lined streams, or even large open meadows on the Pyrenean peaks...
And what about the Cathar castles of Roquefixade and Montségur! They are simply essential for any enthusiast of our beautiful region, and the GR® de Pays du Pays d'Olmes gives us the chance to get up close and personal with them! It is therefore essential to take the time to visit them and soak up the rich history they contain... Not to mention that, from the top of their rocky spurs, the panorama is simply breathtaking!
The Château de Montségur is also one of the eight “citadels of vertigo”. Don't panic, the access is certainly a little physical (but not difficult), but the reward is immense...
