i'd love to know who in a high pressure situation like this wouldn't make a single wrong move. they're volunteers, not experts. They got a huge dog out of the searing heat in the middle of the freaking train tracks, and into a safe loving environment. Job done, experience gained...honestly a more productive day than i've had all year. well done and thank you.

Lisa and JoAnn are two very brave young ladies to have accomplished this rescue. It is wonderful to see the smile on the dog's face at the end of the video.
Thats why Eldad always says be careful..she tried way too soon to pet the dog. And u hear Eldad in some videos telling the dogs "NO! Be nice!" ,and this is why,lol. Good job rescuing her tho, hopefully she finds a good home.

Holy cow, the guy has never told you to reach for a dog that is freaking out! In every video he always said to squat and just hang out til it calms down. Im so happy the dog didnt chomp your fingers off. My heart was racing.
calm your tits. I watch all of their videos, and i have never seen anyone reach for a dog like that. Seen him do it with the leash or a towel. Not his hand. And sure lots of dogs are freaking out and flopping around. But that has nothing to do with sticking your hand in the face of something that could give you a permanent thumbs up.
Well said N B, these armchair critics are a joke. All HOPE FOR PAWS rescuers are experienced and accomplished at what they do, but some rescues are very challenging. This was one such rescue. The dog was successfully captured, got medical treatments and is now happy and healthy in foster care - not sick and starving by a dangerous railway line. So MISSION ACCOMPLISHED HOPE FOR PAWS, Bravo PS Casul OrNah - watch the video again, you are wrong - the rescuer never put her hand close to the dog's mouth, she was using tried and tested techniques to calm the animal and show it the humans were not a threat. In this case the dog was very agitated and that's why it was such a difficult rescue. Respect to these two women for achieving what most people, you included, could not have done and getting that dog to safety inside the rescue vehicle!

I couldn't believe the lack of attention by both of them at that moment and the failure to communicate let me move to the other side so pay attention and watch out. Definitely amateur hour. Loving and caring for the dogs won't keep you or them safe if you carry out the operation doing unsafe things.
Not sure how it happened. They both had a snare around, so if they were opposite eachother, with little slack in the pole, the dog wouldn't have been able to reach anyone, should it lunge. It wasn't taking food, so not sure why they tried to touch it. Being in the moment must be extremely different to just watching a video. Glad no one got bitten 👍
She had blood or redness before they put the snares i think. She just made it worse by moving too agressive.

Put playback speed to 0.25x and go to 2:50 to get an understanding of just how risky and dangerous rescuing can be. These folks at HopeForPaws are a courageous bunch! A dog lunges like that at a police officer, It surely would have been shot. A dog lunges like that at a field operative for a shelter, It would have most likely got the needle. A dog lunges like that at HopeForPaws, It gets rescued, Cared for, And rehabilitated. This is what makes these folk one of a kind. Courageous and very brave. This dog would have sent most men running, But not these two women! Hats off to you ladies.

Working with dogs outside of a home setting is completely different. This isn’t like how you interact with yours or someone else’s pets. All the time people come into my job for one day and never come back because they can’t handle it. These keyboard experts wouldn’t last a day doing this.

Ayyy this breaks my heart. I had a shar pei while growing up and Ming Mei was NEVER aggressive. That’s the problem with Shar Peis, you have to never ever play tug of war or any aggressive type games with them. If you’re calm and chill they’ll be the sweetest dogs ever - like she is at the end of the vid.
I’m gonna look into adopting her, I think. I’ve badly wanted a Shar Pei again and this one is obvi a sweet heart... she looks like my Mingus. ❤️
I play tug and wrestle with my dogs everyday, never been bit or snapped at. Has nothing to do with the dog and everything to do with their situation and owner.
I own a shar pei now, Rusty, and he is the most placid thing ever! He just sunbakes all day ❤️

I think catching a distressed animal is a skill. When Eldad does a rescue, even the most riskier rescues doesn't look that intense. Good job guys...... be careful!!!
This woman is not available to rescues animals on the streets. She is so stressed and impatient, I can feel on her voice and action and so the animals did. Look what she did with this dog, injured her mouth. And this can be worse. Eldad is the best one.
It's so much easier to bond when the animal wants food. This dog had been fed and was very frightened.

This is probably the first rescue I've seen where it made me uncomfortable watching. The woman was trying too hard to pet the dog even though the dog was clearly unhappy with her even being in close proximity, let alone making physical contact. They also showed recklessness by allowing the dog, who was exhibiting so much aggressiveness at the time, to have too much slack on the lead when the women were moving around her. I like watching Eldad because he seems to really be in tune with the dogs' physical and emotional needs and he always exhibits a ton of patience that I think was needed in this rescue. If these ladies had been more patient with adjusting the dog to their presence maybe the dog's injury could have been avoided. Regardless, I'm grateful for the dog to be rescued one way or another and am so glad to see her living a happy and healthier life!
britneyrose320 I understand what you’re saying- but don’t forget the two rescuers are working under pressure and in a very dangerous area. If that dog ran past them then they could’ve been there for hours/days- they had to act fast, and I’m sure the video is condensed which makes it appear rushed. Hope for paws provide a 24 hour response rescue service, they sometimes have to take these risks to get the dog out and to a safe location so they can move on to the next one. Eldad has grabbed dogs by the legs before to get them out of their dangerous situation. It must be really challenging in these situations to think of what to do so fast.
These girls are totally useless, idiots and not right for this task.They dont understand anything about body language, how to approach safely and dont stress and scare the dog.Repeating -you are fine ...again and again is not doing anything.....

Terncote as soon as they had got the dog at a calmer state they did cage it immediately. But I agree the petting was not the greatest approach.
britneyrose320 actually, the dog would hear the soft voice and would be able to realize that they aren't threatening her. These guys are trained and know what they're doing, they didn't know if the dog has been in good contact with humans so they assumed that it might have been someone's pet and went to pet it to calm it, of course that wasn't the case so they stopped
britneyrose320 they needed to worn quickly because if you didn’t notice, THEY ARE ON RAILWAY TRACKS.
Whew, that was almost one of life's lessons learned the hard way... that was insane walking up on that dog while it was tweeked.
Wow, every rescue I watch I am amazed and so grateful that there’s people like you helping these animals. I often think, please doggo, let these people help you but I understand they’ve had a rough life and their trust of humans and strangers is minimal. Bless you all for your continued rescues and never ending support of these most precious creatures. I am an animal lover and have both dogs and cats and in truth, they are not hard to care for, love is the main ingredient. Food, shelter, basic medical care, exercise, training , all things my family finds easy to give. I just wish that people who can’t look after their animals would seek out help and assistance first before leaving them to fend for themselves. In Australia there’s always somewhere to turn and I expect there would be in America. Thank goddess for every cruel, heartless, inconsiderate person there’s another selfless, caring and kind human to rectify the wrong that was done. Thank you Hope for Paws.

They were on literal train tracks where there are active trains. You think the dog was freaking out a lot when things were quiet? Imagine with a fucking train barreling by. The dog could panic and run into the tracks and get killed.
