Scott really reminds me of John Ritter and skits like this are compliment to his dramatic acting skills and could be an actor in serious films.
He's funny, he's handsome, he makes a hot woman, he makes a hot man, he can look and act prissy or butch, he can sing, he can act, he's the alpha and the omega; he encompasses all things.
You can really see Dave's distrust in doctors.
I find this sketch to be more legendary than anything from SNL or anywhere else. It’s just brilliant.
me to. I'm 19 and I love kids in the hall got whole seasons on DVD and death comes to town now I got get brain candy on DVD. I watch some on TH-cam and now I'm still on season one.
If Lorne Michaels had any sense he'd give SNL over to the Kids in perpetuity.

O! O! No. Yes. Now way! Of course it’s better. You are correct. Some SNL casts were pretty good but nothing beats rehearsed and memorized lines and developed and thoughtful characters. No question this show is better. But of course it’s very different. It was politically incorrectly politically correct. Ahead of its time. They dealt with all issues, controversial for the time or not. Made fun of everyone. They were pioneers in free thinking and free speech. Untouchable troupe. They define my childhood in many ways. Just like Nirvana. Kids in the hall, Nirvana, norm MacDonald and Chris Farley. It’s really sad for the kids today. There doesn’t seem to be any culture at all. Nothing that even tries to appear authentic.

SNL has always been politically left of center which was tolerable for almost anyone, but now they’re all activists with chips on their shoulders. They think they’re better than everyone and if you don’t side with their extreme views you’re stupid. We always just accepted their anti Republican antics as funny and often deserved. But now it’s just propaganda for a movement that cannot possibly hold up to the test of time. Just far too left. Left of center is fine we can all laugh at ourselves but too much is too much. If your purpose is preaching, call it church. Don’t call it a comedy show. Preachiness is never funny. Never has been funny. Lorne is only able to keep the show running because he knows where ALL OF THE BODIES ARE BURIED. He knows everyone’s big and little secrets. So until there’s a major shift in politics, Lorne is here to stay. Just like Howard Stern, the Stern Aplogist. His career is now just apologizing for the stuff that got him famous. Kinda crappy if you ask me.

This show was a big part of my childhood, I used to watch it all the time when I was a kid. I remember when I first saw this sketch back in the early 90s. I remember walking to school sayin " your cheatin heart" over and over again lol, I couldn't get it out of my head!....and now I revisit this sketch 25 yrs later and the same thing happens. Im walkin to work to " your cheatin heart" again!.....ahh the 90s, what a grand decade...

Hard to watch this knowing ST went through six rounds of chemo and then radiation "therapy".
and he freaked out during the filming of "Death Comes to Town" seeing Mark, dressed as death, shortly after his chemo. Mark "turned into death" Scott said, in an interview. Wondered about the connection there, this sketch.

comedy is a good thing... but i think these kids would have done better in a different genre. Using a school learned formula to make comedy... it just doesn't make for good comedy. Half the skits make no sense and are just a comedic device, like, absurdity, juxtaposition, irony, costume, etc.
Maybe people from Canada are just naturally deficient in that area.
Humor is subjective, but I think they were great, inventive, and creative comedians. Absurdist comedy rules! And I gotta defend the neighbors to the North on your assessment... Canada has brought the world many great comedians, in which I'd include The Kids In The Hall. Gilda Radner, Dan Ackroyd, John Candy, Martin Short, as well as most of the early SNL and SCTV gangs, Jim Carrey, Norm MacDonald and many more. Canada is certainly not lacking in any comedic areas.
