SL100 had the great reputation even better that XL , the geart box was used on different bikes back in the 70s for races.Lovely unforgettable motorcylce
I had that same bike red color but the exhaust was swept up to line up with the frame support. It was a 1973 SL-100🇵🇭 my late father gifted me on my 17th birthday. I'm 65 now. Great bike!
You probably won't see this comment as two years have passed, but I also had the same bike as my first here in New Zealand. Also had the same colours and also had the upswept pipe. My mates had the earlier ones with the light green tank with the white stripes. We rode them everywhere, including every grass reserve in Auckland (was naughty back then and unheard of now!! :) We used to take the mufflers off and have the straight pipes only. I swear to god flames used to shoot out. Boys right? I'm 65 now. Good luck to you mate, wherever you are.
My dad bought me this exact bike in June 1972 for $525. I was only 13 years old at the time. I loved it and spent several summers on it. The good old days.
My dad bought me the candy tone ruby red one. It listed for $529, but they let us have it for $499. Salem Cycle Center, Salem Virginia. I think it was in December of '72. It was listed as a '73 SL100K2.
Just like mine except for the rubber flap. They were amazing wheelie bikes. I could go around corners while riding a wheelie. Durable frame. When I passed it on, the footpegs were at a 45 degree angle because I jumped it so much.
My first motorcycle I bought. I was 12 and bought it with my own money from cutting grass for $250. It was red 1972 and all of that enduro crap was taken of. pure dirt bike. In 77. And at 15 and a half, I bought my firt car, a 1964 and a half 3 speed 6 cylinder ford mustang for$ 800.00. perfect body on it but I had to get it painted and recromed.
its a really nice bike it is not for everybody girls ride a sissy bike but it is a nice sissy bike lol I just had to say that don't have nothing against any bikes some just say girls on them

I had that same bike, only mine was the candy red. I put over 30,000 miles on that bike. The sound of that exhaust takes me back to simpler times. :)

That was the make model and color of my first bike in 77
Ah, the memories. Kids would cut off the muffler and weld a VW pipe on, chuck the front fender and put on a fork brace.
Love it!
Mine didn't have a rubber flap on the front fender
Isn't that skirt/mudguard on the front on the fender suppost to be on the rear of it?
