I’ve found when re-fitting the tunnel or matting back, taking the handbrake lever off completely or just unbolting it (but leaving it connected) and moving it over while refitting helps immensely. Makes refitting a breeze. I’m going to riv-nut the handbrake bolts on mine to make unbolting it easier. By the way, your footwells are immaculate and would make most defender owners envious!
Thanks. Yes, I have to admit to counter-productive laziness in not removing the handbrake lever! That sounds like a great idea, as I will surely need to remove again before too long. Yes, the footwells are amazingly good - but the rust is in other places on this one!
