I recorded this video shortly after moving back to Kenya, explaining the story of how I ended up relocating from such a different country as Finland, to Nairobi. As an adventurous soul, I was looking for a different experience and more international career opportunities to use my education in a way that felt meaningul to me. I also enjoyed the vibe of Nairobi on my location scouting trip, and later found love in Kenya.

On this channel I want to spread nothing but love and understanding. 🌞 Hate speech towards other ethnicities, nationalities or tribes will not be tolerated. 🛑
If you have questions, you can ask. If you have problems, you can look for education and help - that’s what I have done when I’ve felt resentment towards someone or something.
One topic that I do not see being of relevance on this channel is colonialism - I am sure there are other creators discussing this topic. I have nothing to say about this as Finland never held any overseas colonies, in fact my ancestors’ lands have been taken over by another country and Independence Day is one of our most important holidays. When it comes to Finnish influence in Africa, a Finnish president had their impact on Namibia gaining independence.
Once this channel grows, I will be dedicating some of the growth to initiatives within the communities here in Kenya. Peace 🇰🇪 ✌🏻
If you are interested in relocating to Kenya, consider watching my video on the topic: th-cam.com/video/yJ9gi9rol3o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1P-bFpAymyWhl6QD

I hope it works out well for you & I trust that it will as you seem to have the right mindset & approach. I particularly like how you pronounce "Nairobi" as well as the other Swahili words you threw in there. Seems like you're taking up the language quite well.

Hei Aino. Tervetuloa Keniaan. Very sorry to hear about some of the bad experiences in Kenya. The initial adjustment is rough, very rough indeed; i think this tends to be the same for new experiences globally, esp where one immerses in a completely new culture; the culture shock is real! But it should be great once you get through the initial rough patch, it will be well. As a foreign based person, you will tend to do much better and enjoy life in Nairobi so much more by far, on average, than the average Kenyan citizen.

Aino, thank you, Asante sana, tak, tak, tak for sharing your amazing story and adventures in China, Finland and in Nairobi Kenya. I'm planning to visit Kenya in December to visit my mother who is about 90 years and to volunteer within the community at Bomet County and Nairobi County. I migrated from Kenya 24 years ago and currently live in Halifax City, Nova Scotia, Canada. I'm thinking of doing more partnership in Kenya investing in social enterprises, education of young children from very poor families, rehabilitation of street children, creating new good jobs for youth, empowering women/families in various parts of Kenya (plus in other countries of Africa and worldwide). Aino Luo, your beautiful story feels very encouraging Aino Luo. Keep on sharing your wonderful presence, pictures and so unique attractive style of inspiring videos. All the best to you Aino now and always. Blessings to you and your family. My name is Simba Kiprotich Arap Ruto (If you care to and feel
like you can connect on TH-cam and/or on my Facebook page, both with the same name). Once again, thank you, asante sana, tak, Aino Luo.

Nice vlog presentation, Welcome to Kenya and enjoy your stay. By the way guys i don’t remember Finland colonizing any country.

Finland never held any overseas colonies. The previous president of Finland, Martti Ahtisaari (who was born in a city we lost to Russia) received a Nobel peace prize for his peace work contributing to Namibia gaining independence.
Finland itself was ruled first by Sweden and then by Russia until we gained independence in 1917. I do not have access to my ancestor’s homeland because it is in the areas we lost in the Second World War to Russia.
That’s a few facts and I leave it for you guys to judge the situation. Not that what Finland has been involved in has much to do with me as an individual anyway.

@@ainoluo Don’t worry i quite well understand the real colonizers, I don’t remember any Nordic countries holding a colony in Africa. It was not even taught to us during history classes, The people bringing this up don’t know world history in relation to colonialism nor their geography.
